i'm kinda disappointed that this plane can't fit many people.

City LEGO planes tend to always use those big pieces. As a commercial aviation fan [and someone who is very slowly building their own MOC airport], I would love to see Creator tackle an airliner. They did a wonderful job this year with the red prop plane, and a while back that orange train that is just amazing. Perhaps next year, TLG will release a large Creator set where the entire plane is built up. I would like to see a wider body airplane, as there would be more room for detail inside, but as long as the wing, cockpit, tail, and those large 'roof' pieces are used, that's not going to be possible. I do like the way the door swings open and to the side - very much like a real aircraft. And the cockpit is the most detailed I've seen in a City airplane set! I do think each release of their City airport sets builds up from the prior versions, so I do like it, but I agree - the building experience is lacking when you have so many large bits.

I removed the restroom area and made into a cargo hold and put a computer on the front hump and turned it into a private jet.

Hey jang I know u say u rnt going to make an airport but I think u should hang like 1 or 2 planes above the city

Why cant they make an A380 style or 747 style of plane instead of the same every year.

The airport looks more like a bus stop

I Just bought this set the plane is way bigger than what it actually looks like. What irony like is that it doesn't have enough seats for passengers but u can actually put more which is pretty cool.🙂🙂🙂👌👍👍

Lego could actually make a really cool, large stilted airport terminal with concourses if they made the airports with the SMALL airplanes, and sold the large airplanes separately.

How does this plane compare to the two planes from the Friends line? I'm looking to buy a plane and the Friends ones look nicer to me, but I would like to buy the one my kids will be playing with the most.

I agree with you on the big pieces. I tried using a plane cockpit piece for a yacht, thought it was creative. But even when building something other than a plane, It takes away the satisfaction of building with bricks. Such huge pieces belong to the sets intended for younger children, the kind where vehicle bases are all one piece as well. With that said, I think they do this in order to reduce the part count and make the sets more affordable. I'd like to see a set of this nature as a minifig friendly Creator set, as those tend to rely heavily on building with small pieces, which I find to be the most interesting and fun part of LEGO.

This is definitely something I like and want.

I actually like this new plane a lot better then the older Lego planes. I always had a problem with Lego planes because the fuelselage was never streamlined enough and I always find it a bit on the ugly end. But this particular Lego plane blew my mind with it's design and it's interior. I just loved it!

Another great summer 2016 set! Would have liked more 'building', rather than the larger pieces however as LEGO is more for children it is a great play set and overall I really like it! Great review as always!

Ages ago I bought the previous large passenger plane, but it was lacking in space inside and the seats were in an awkward layout. I removed the tables on the forward wing cross beam and placed the galley split out on either side of the aisle. I stacked the table tops and mugs on top of the fridge to make them look like meal trays. Then I put an extra 2 seats in place of where the galley had been and turned all the other seats to face forward, making sure they all had roughly the same leg room. Finally I restructured the luggage bay In the rear of the cabin to be a tiny cramped toilet and I added a flight attendants seat next to the door. Overall I think that these little improvements make the plane have a nicer feel as it looks more realistic like a domestic full economy class short range jet and by doing this I was able to increase the passenger capacity by another 2!

I like that the plane isn't mostly white. I guess if one combines elements from this set with the 2 friends airports it makes a complete airport.

I agree with you that the large pieces is less fun than the smaller ones, but I guess if we were on the younger end of the scale (7-8 years old) then I guess we would appreciate the bigger parts more. Still it looks like a nice set, and after seeing your review I look forward to building it in the near future.

This reminds me me of when I go to the airport and to the plane.

I've always felt the same way about these lego passenger planes and their large peices though I do understand that it'd be tricky to get the shape done so well with more traditional bricks.

Idk why but I just love any Lego plane or airport set and I've always wanted one but my mom/dad could never afford one but I got and built my first one today (8/19/16) which was the ambulance one

I've had many flights already in my life and you always first give away your biggest luggages at registration (and getting your boarding pass) and then the security clears you (I'm sure my luggages got cleared parallelly obviously). So, first you get or give your luggage, second you get cleared. Normal.

Funny.I had the lady from the business jet set for the flight attendant and the man with that grey torso as the owner of the business jet.

Wow, considering how many criminals are in Lego City, it's a miracle that cockpit and passenger area are not divided by locked doors. Happy minidudes, I bet they are allowed to take beverages on board! :D I love the fact the aircraft can stand in takeoff position, that's awesome, however one must have one of those perfect 80's/90's airports with runways to fully enjoy this feature. Or at least simulate a runway with road baseplates or build it some other way. Really miss this stuff, same with fire stations and other buildings. And to be honest, except for baggage carousel functionality, I don't like the terminal at all. On the other hand, the baggage tug is totally cute.

I find it interesting how Jang is now using a disclaimer to inform viewers that he's *not* receiving free review copies of sets. Jang has worked hard to keep himself away from as much bias as possible, and I think that's a rather commendable effort. Great work as always, Jang!

The plane looks nice. and the color scheme reminds me of Southwest Airlines

I have the 2006 blue plane which also has those massive parts, and I didn't really care back then. There was enough brick building in it for me (and I guess I was used to large specific use Bionicle parts) and it was cool just to fly around a huge plane with all my minifigures in it. Speaking of which, I think this set would be better with more seats on the plane - it looks like half of the space is reserved for catering which is a bit out of proportion. I think the 2006 blue plane is better than this one but having the airport with this brings in much more play value so that's pretty nice.
