@@owendinostudios1200 Have to realize that this was sourced from an audio cassette from Lorin Nelson's personal collection. What is on the cassette is what is on the cassette. If tracks exist and they were by other composers or were not something that Lorin wanted to put on that cassette, sorry. Now we do get to hear some unused music from Lorin's library right at the end, so there is a trade off!

@@DMARtunes I actually used to live on a House Boat, it's actually just as affordable if you were to live in a regular house. Just so happens to be on the water, some spots in the pacific northwest have entire neighborhoods that are boat houses, really nice living to be fair.
The information center theme was vaporwave before vaporwave. For me. It hits that deep brain connection to my childhood and just instantly makes me smile and relax in a cloud of nostalgic bliss.
YES this song captivated me as a child. Ever since, about once a month I would think of it. Vaporwave before vaporwave is so accurate because I really feel like anytime I've dove into vaporwave, I'm always moved the most by songs that scratch this same itch.
Information Center is the song I remember the most from this game as a child, now that I’m listening to it again, it could be used as the base for a cool Vaporwave song
That police station sax is so smooth. It's like, there's so many genres of music crammed in this game, and yet it never feels like a jack of all trades/master of none situation. They're ALL bangers in their respective genres.
Honestly the way I live, and video games, media don't always pull it off well, but when they do...FUCK!!! Also there's the rare "Renaissance people" I strive to be, the "masters of some."

This is the only known highest quality music from LEGO Island (1997). The original master tapes were lost in a house boat accident. Also, what I noticed is that the reason why these sound so good are because: In the original CD-ROM that likes to compress the crap out of the music. The music was 11.025KhZ and 1/4 of Human Hearing. Mono sound too. But these renewed versions are double one half the other.

It's fascinating hearing musical parts that are super-emphasized here but extremely subtle in the final game, like a different cut, or even the same theme for a different time of day or even a new game in the series.
It has always m-mystified me too, honestly to like back in 2002 or 2003 when I could play Lego Island on the school computer... ;w; i never found out but i guess nobody ever did...
@@firestick25 yep. There was talk of that door being a portal, of sorts, into Lego Island 2. While the game was created, the transition within the game never did so we were sadly left with a dead end door in the cave.
God this is a childhood dream come true, 😢 it's so beautiful, ASMR, goosebumps-inducing and amazing to finally hear these songs without all the annoying compression (technical limits of 1997). Even with some that may be gone forever, it's still so vindicating and wonderful to know so many DID make it back, I never thought this would come, and it would only be limited to me or someone remaking it with modern equipment to the best of our ability. I'm beyond grateful that so many were saved, considering I didn't think we'd ever find these. So thankful Lorin Nelson was around to ask and he had some still left.
Right!? So glad to find that there are other people out there that know this game and LOVE the soundtrack as much as I do. Literally played a huge role in my childhood. I'm 26 now and these songs still go through my head multiple times a week hahaha. freaking love it
Fascinating how they added so many guitar riffs into the final compressed version of "The Race" to overcompensate, though this is better without all that, and the Chase Theme, Chasing The Brickster especially, and even the Cave Theme seemed to do a little bit of this in the finished product. Love how some tracks give off Crash Bandicoot and Banjo Kazooie vibes.
Not hearing the guitar riff at 18:47 onward was jarring, truth be told. I've heard the in-game track so many times it just comes automatic to my brain. The song's still fantastic without it - a true genre-defining sound for me, since I associate EVERY racing-related thing with it, regardless of being connected to LEGO - but it just feels incomplete.
Awesome audio quality! Back in 2005, the first LEGO Island game I had was LEGO Island Xtreme Stunts (which came with "Kid's Craze: LEGO" a pack of three LEGO PC games distributed by Encore that came out in 2003 which also included LEGO Loco and LEGO Rock Raiders), then I had LEGO Island 2: The Brickster's Revenge in the same year (which wasn't as good as LIXS, but it came with another Encore PC game pack called "All Aboard! Kindergarten Adventures"), and in late 2012, I purchased the 2002 version of this game at Goodwill. It's a lot of fun to finally listen to it soundtrack in studio quality, so thanks for uploading it!

This brings back memories. Absolutely loved this game when i was a kid. Eventually my copy of the game got messed up so all the voices of the characters became high pitched, but that didn't stop me from enjoying it!

this isn't your normal generic 90's music, my friend. this is a hq soundtrack for a game in the 90's, which the master tapes fell into the ocean for some reason.
Currently in Denmark right now unable to sleep from excitement of going to Legoland billund tomorrow, so I'm sitting in bed listening to the most appropriate soundtrack.
That theme is honestly extraordinary. At times it has like NIN synth vibe then will just throw Neo Classical straight into some bass slapping funk. I can only imagine the dude on synth head bobbing while making this theme.
I always imagined adding themes to this game, like a pirate island, castle island, space... island? Probably through a time warp from that crazy theme for spare parts lol
I played this game so, so long ago that I only remember the drum intro to the main theme. But man does it hit good. As an adult, I'm blown away with how over-the-top and iconic-sounding each track is and the variety of instrumentation and styles.
The beta mix of Chasing The Brickster really caught me off-guard, like “who thought this would be a good idea” and it’s so insane what the guitarist did to “fix” it.
The opening theme reminds me so much of Calypso-era Sesame Street. And the vocal samples of that song, and most of the other music reminds me of the styles of Mark Mothersbaugh, including Rugrats and Crash Bandicoot.
Somebody else painstakingly recreated the hospital theme in high quality and it sounds identical to the original. I don't remember the name of the channel but if you search for it you'll find it
Unfortunately, I was not old enough to experience this in my childhood due to the fact I was born in may 23 2010 but the information center sound so god dang nostalgic!
I missed this game when I was a kid, so I don't have that kind of nostalgia towards it. But I totally see why everyone else in my age has fond memories of it. This game is not the most extensive, nor is it the most action packed or whatnot. Yet it is filled to the brim with character. This game manages to remind me of better times even though I didn't catch the game when it was fresh.

Many years ago I was in elementary school when this came out and my parents bought it for me for Christmas. I also remember the insane fight between my sisters and me as to who would play it first.
Oohh man the good old days playing lego island and try to build in real life with my Lego sets. About the lost tapes on the sea man thats its a good joke if wasn't real but its real at all .
