What many called the worst set of the year ain’t all bad… what do ya think? *I said LAVA instead of FIRE a bit in this video, I forgot to swap my audio in the edit.*
Couldnt resist and bought it. Knowing it costs too much. But...building process.wasnt that bad. There are some more expensive parts and minifigs are great. All displayed it looks cool, but only when you have seen the scene in the obi show. At the end it still doesnt feel right, but it is less bad than I thought. 50 too much, 45 would be less arguable.
That was surprisingly positive, and I’ll have to admit, with the figs on it it doesn’t look bad as a scene. I think a moc with the proper sand in the new 18+ style vignette would look really nice.
@@thatoneguy58609 idk if your Talking to me but if you are then you are right. I just like the set for the figs. The plate is meh. But vader with arm printing is too cool
Oddly enough, this was the better choice to make a set on between the two fights because the burning spice gives play features. The 2nd fight is an equally grey world where they throw rocks at each other. Not sure how you make that into a more interesting play experience than this.
Exactly. While I think a new Vader mold with the crack in it would’ve been cool, they would’ve had to have some pillars be able to fall into a hole in the ground. It would’ve looked very bad once all the features were used. They made a good decision on this one 👍🏻
The price of this set is what makes it horrible in my opinion. Lego is taking advantage of adults who want the minifigures because they know they have more money (like what they did with the 501st pack) If the set was under $30 it would be pretty inoffensive. It works as a nice display for Vader and Obi-Wan but it’s definitely not worth $50.
Incredible figures and possibly the worst LEGO Star Wars build in years… an interesting combo for sure 😅 Nice work getting it early Ryan! EDIT- Just finished the review, and it seems better than I thought with the play features, but still underwhelming.
@@lIiTITANiIl I could see them doing something like how they did this duel similar to the other with some rock pillers and the rock for obi wan to jump off of or even when Vader sends him through the ground but I get what your saying both locations where similar but I think we would get more out of there second duel I think a moc of that planet with an imperial shuttle and Vader and kenobi facing off would be cool but I doubt lego would do that and me personally if I could have any of the duels made as a lego set it would’ve been the flashback duel
Let's be honest, the final duel in episode 6 with a new version of the Lambda Shuttle, three figures (Vader, Obi-Wan and a pilot or whatever), some background and stones and Obi-Wan's small spaceship for maybe $100/$120 would just be the best set for the Obi-Wan series, but yeh...... Lego 🤡
@@DarrylErickson I do care for the minifigures and it’s one of the main things I take into account. The only good figure is Ned B and I really don’t see how I’d use him
Pretty sure the clear pieces are because Obiwan was getting force choked off the ground in the scene, not because of the high ground memes. Appreciate the review!
At $30 with less built up terrain, or maybe just a few separated terrain bits and sections with fewer pieces... it could be sold as a play set. Now if only the show wasn't as bland a cash-in as this slab.
Honestly, with Lego leaning into the “adult” side more I’ll be surprised if they don’t do some “premium” display fight sets. Pieces to make a cool backdrop like explosions or lighting that can be removed or clear pieces for jumping/flight Lego is literally the perfect avenue for a customizable display piece, with or without a need for extra pieces
Considering the limited amount of information lego had on the scene I would say it's really not that bad of a set imo. Like I said yesterday the only thing that I am concerned about is availability. Like everything else this year it's most likely going to be sold out fast and take 2 months or more to restock. But I can wait. Definitely in no way am I paying scalpers prices for it like the 80$ fighter tank all over ebay and mercari
They added bricks to give Obi-Wan the high ground and they did it for the meme? I mean being chocked and lifted up to then be thrown into the fire isnt really high ground material
I honestly love this set. Yes, the price is a bit higher than it should have been, but I love the figures and when you have all of them displayed on it, it looks pretty good.
Add some stormtroopers, maybe an imperial ship in the background, and add more orange translucent cheese slopes and you’ve got yourself a decent recreation of the scene. Lego really needs to up their game OR Disney needs to chill and refine their star wars content. Preferably both, either way great review 😎👍
Yeah but you have to keep in mind thats not accurate to scene is it? Just because the box art shows him having red lenses it doesnt actually mean he is gonna have them in the actual set. Come on everyone on this Channel should know that lego always tries to cheapen out with stuff and is like 6 out 10 times Always dissapointing.
@@C.C.E neither is the place they are at accurate. The planet they're on isn't grey its more sandy colour. So if you are gonna down that road of "accuracy" this set isn't accurate at all. I don't remember the woman being in an imperial officer outfit in that fight scene.
@@Lion_of_Sparta im not teying to defend the set or anything.its the designers fault for making this duel from a worse fight scene with kenobi and vader.
Why Darth Vader eyes isn’t Red ? in LEGO Sets Box Art Darth Vader eyes is Red but Minifigures eyes wasn’t Red why LEGO don’t make Darth Vader Red eyes i want it !
Lego: We can't make anything from Jedi: Fallen Order, it's just way too violent! Also Lego: Hell yeah, let's make a set on a very disturbing and dark scene from Obi-Wan! That'll bring them in, yeah!
Also in Kenobi we have: Vader snapping a child's neck Implied mass genocide (why Tala betrayed the empire) Order 66 Obi wan drowning stormtroopers The death of wade
if youre going to keep complaining about the atte with commander cody that we finally got after years of wanting and tell us this $50 gray baseplate is worth our money please stop reviewing lego :)
The minifigures save the set and it has a lot more action than I thought it would, but the color should have been dark tan and it should have a little bit of vegetation.
This set really isn't horrible it could just use a couple small things to improve it greatly. 1. Have at least 1 stormtrooper in the set, 2. Possibly give vader red eyes. 3. Have Tala have her alternate outfit and this set would probably be really good. I want to get this set to see if I can use the parts included and make the scene from their second duel.
I agree with the stormtrooper, but I don’t necessarily care about the red eyes with Vader, it’s already an astonishing Vader fig, also I have like no imperial officers, so getting this Tala outfit is actually great for me.
Walmart has these for 35 now. I went ahead and got it for the minifigs. Diddnt want to miss out on Ned but im sure they will make a much better set that includes that minifig now that i dropped 35 on this one
Yeah just bought it earlier today just for the figs and pieces. That Endor 4+ set needs another discount $24 is still too much for that one. Only reason I want that one is for the scout trooper and ATST driver lol
As cool as Ned-B looks, the size of his head definitely bothers me. In the show his head was roughly larger than human characters so seeing it be smaller feels wrong. I get that minifigs aren't supposed to be in scale and all that but making it larger would have made it feel much more uniform with other minifigs, as it stands it just makes Ned-B look much much smaller than he should
Hi Ryan This is from my partner Simon who watches RU-vid on my account I wish you would be accurate with descriptions of sets, Obi vs Darth Vader this is no lava, watch the episode again. Vader empties containers of flammable materials on the ground igniting it with his light saber and so it becomes flames and then Vader burns Obi Wan in the flames. So to say there is lava is totally inaccurate Myself and my girlfriend like your Lego videos, however instead of you calling out inaccuracies in Lego sets (which usually agree with) I am calling you out for the first time in your inaccuracies of descriptions of Lego sets in reference to Star Wars material (of which they there have been many). I would catalogue of all them for you want Keep up the good work, humorously Simon
I know it's not lava, I meant to replace the audio with me saying fire. I recorded it (and your comment reminded me), I forgot to switch it out! I had Mustafar on my mind recording this....
Do you think there is hope that in a few years lego will release an improved version of this set like a duel for death star II? Greetings from Central Europe ^v^
