I own 7 different styles of lems and use them all. The slip on moc style is a great casual shoe for summer. The slip on with shearling is my go to house slipper. The primal zen is my running/court sport shoe, the trailheads are my summer hiking shoe. The Boulder boots are my winter hiking shoes, the chillum is a great casual around town shoe. Primal 2 is a great travel gym shoe bc it's so small. I think you can probably tell I love lems shoes!

Haha, that's a lot of love for Lem''s =)

My favorite from Lems is the Primal Zen. Super comfortable and stylish. Not as rugged in the sole, but if you need the durability, you'll likely have some hiking boots with you anyway.

I like the Zen, may be my next shoe after these wear out! =)

Its pretty obvious that the weight listed is for one shoe and not the pair. Thats how most if not all shoe companies list weights..
@OneBagTravels
@OneBagTravels Год назад
After checking a few company pages I see that the weights listed are indeed for one shoe. It's really only obvious though if you already know this is how they do it, I'm not sure the average person who isn't weighing their shoes knows this. I still think the shoe companies should be more clear on what the weight on their product page is referring to though.

I’m going to check out these shoes. I wear a wide size and the toe box on these look good.

Good review I have a shoe problem as I need to swap shoes every few days due to moisture issues. I am trying solve this issue by carrying extra insoles. But wear one bring two? What you need is a shoe that you can convert to a dress shoe for a cruise. Recently on a trip to the Caribbean I wore sandals/ water shoe, wore them the whole trip! TEVA at MEC. Cheers

Water shoes are the best =) Solid plain black shoe of almost any brand would be good for a dress shoe conversion, or seems like switching out your insoles is a good solution.

I’m kind of fussy about how my shoes fit, so I don’t really like buying shoes online. However, I’ve been interested in trying some Lems for a good while now. Anybody know of stick and brick retailers that carry a full selection of Lems shoes?

I've seen them at smaller specialty shoe stores, the Boulder Boots are popular but I've never seen the Primal Pursuits. Lems has a store locator on their website (www.lemsshoes.com/pages/store-locator) but you'd probably have to call the store to see if they have the particular shoe you're looking for.

I am not sure if padded shoes like that should be zero drop, since the foam at the heel is going to compress over time from walking, basically turning them into a negative drop shoe. That cant be good... Whats your experience?
@OneBagTravels

I've worn these quite a lot and didn't experience any heel compression, the biggest issue for me with these shoes is they feel slightly too short.

Excellent review @OneBagTravels !!! Question, between the Altra Lone Peak and the Primal Pursuit, which had the wider shoe last and toe box please? The Altras supposedly have a D size heel and midfoot but have a EE toe box. Also, the Altra’s have a rock plate, I don’t think the Lems do. Have you had any punctures or injuries from hiring sharp edges/ rocks on the Lems? Lastly, do you wear the same size for both? Thank you.

Those shoes are similar in width in the middle, the Altra has a slightly narrower heel, and a wider toe box. I wear them both in size 11, but the length of the shoes is different. Altras are longer by maybe 1/2 an inch. The Altra's have almost too much room in the toe for me, so I had an issue with my foot sliding in the shoe on sloped trails. The Lems fits much more snugly, while also having an above average sized toe box. I don't know if the Primal Pursuit has a rock plate or not, the website doesn't say it does, and it's not obvious from looking at the shoe. However both these shoes have similar thickness of the sole and bottom rubber, Altra is slightly stiffer when you bend them, so maybe that's the rock plate. Either way I don't think it would matter with these because the bottom rubber is plenty thick enough to not have issues with rocks. I've had that problem with other thinner shoes, like Merrell Barefoot2, but not with these. I've actually switched to some Salomon shoes, which are much snugger and have better ankle support than the Altras, I use those if I'm just going to be hiking/trail running, and the Lems for travel and wearing around town, but also some lite hiking/trail running so I don't have to bring two pairs of shoes.
