As a player completely new to GG, this video was amazing. You did a great job explaining everything while also explaining higher level FGC concepts to help new players figure out the game. Definitely got a subscriber from me!
"If you see this ni**a's lats, you know you're in trouble" I was so surprised to hear that lol I laughed for so long lol Great video man, well made, and good narrating. I'm actually a Ky main, but I heard Leo is one of his hardest match ups and wanted to see what was up!
thank you so much for the long awaited leo guide, I really love the character in strive, yet I still struggle with getting into backturn stance without interrupting my combo, you're so good and this guide is no different
Millia's especially a pain for Leo since he's not got the best ability to anti-air into damage. I envy Sol players with their ability to DP into 50%+ damage.
@@YourIdeologyIsDelusional Actually, you can! Heavy DP into drift RRC (66rc for same side and 22rc for cross under), land, j.S, j.66, j.S, land, f.S, 5HS, Heavy DP, wallbreak stolen from twitter lol
Ngl bro I really appreciate you gassing up the king in this video. It was probably the most thoughtfully done character guide Ive ever seen, and it made it that much more enjoyable. Fantastic work, keep it up! 💜
These guides have been so good! An anji guide would be super helpful too if you're down to make one. We glue stick connoisseurs are struggling over here
One of the best guides out there. Clear, concise and straight to the point. My first guilty gear and came just to play Leo because I love his whole persona. This guide will help a ton. Earned a sub from me!
19:20 Leo while clowning on Faust: *FOR THOUSANDS OF YEARS I LAY DORMANT, WHO HAS DISTURBED MY-* Oh...hey Brendanmushi. Show off compilation? Yeah, I gotchu, holup- *proceeds to clown on Ram*
Last video you said you did not respect leo mains, so I have reformed myself and am now a brand new Faust enjoyer. (Not because my brother doesnt want to play against my leo anymore totally). I have gone from a gorilla to a Doctor
For some reason, many people on the low to mid levels, up to 7 or so, dont know that he can't block low with the hold S/H stance. Sometimes I just press and hold slash and just walk right up to them from the other side of the screen and everything they try just bounces off and then free counter. All it takes is one low kick.
amazing guide, I can feel myself devolving fr though as someone who is new to the series this is one of the best guides I've found for this game in general
I saw this guy with Tonfas and said hey, Lloyd (Trails from Zero) uses them too; might as well try him out as my first character for this game. Never did I know his aggressive playstyle fits me so well as I main Susano'o in Blazblue Central Fiction. Good Guide.
Another tip for his command grab, listen for the sound and just ground throw, Its one of the few command grabs (if not the only one) that can be thrown, and pretty easily
Great guide, but there is alot back stance cancels to keep your turn or do lows instead of the h, which should be mentioned in the playing against Leo section
Very true, I considered discussing it, but I figured as a beginner guide this should do well enough. The average online Leo isn’t doing that just yet this early on.
thank you so much for this, I've been having a lot of fun rolling my tongue on the stick and getting perfects, but now I can just close my eyes and bang my fists instead with this video's teachings :) (but srsly thanks)
One thing that should be mentioned about backturn counter is normals that are countered from a far enough distance don't cause the counterattack to happen and simply cause the opponent to bounce off.
I main May but I want to pick up Leo as a secondary so this guide has been an excellent place for me to start. The information you gave was very straight to the point and easy to understand plus you managed to make me chuckle a few times lol. Good stuff my guy, keep up the good work!
15:57 Leo can fast cancel his overhead by pressing 22 during the move making it actually +5 on block, so mashing isn't that good strategy if the Leo player knows about this
I think it's super helpful to branch out and play the entire cast at least a little bit. It def helps when fighting against them when you play them yourself and lose with them lol
Yeah eventually I will but I'm kinda holding off because the things I learn with Zato and the top Zato's do such as Gobo & Peppery Splash do dramatically changes every day. That can happen with any character, but especially Zato since he's such an expressive and free form character.
Everybody is crying about Sol but personally I think Leo is the REAL menace of this game, and hes flying under the radar. I thought he had some crazy things in the beta that I was sure they would tone down but they left is all in. Not to worry though, yall gonna see what im talking about soon lol
No mention about the OTG loops. You can scoop up people with K or HS after a throw, the command throw or the 214S and reset your pressure. A neat trick that got me two, three consecutive throw on people not aware of what's going on.
Got the game recently, but no vs. yet. Mained him in Rev1, subbed in Rev 2. I wonder if I can win w/the anti-Leo tech out there. Impressive combos, though I'm not sure what some were or which to do. Maybe K, 6K, 236S. And some way to combo of an AA, way to combo in super, & a wall combo. Tried some combos in a Rooflemonger vid. Good guide.
It's not just that, if he's not actively smacking buttons, he can be grabbed for free out of pretty much all his buttons in back turn stance. None of his back turn mixups are real. I have a bad feeling that he's going to drop all the way to bottom tier once more people realize this. In Xrd there were throw invulnerable normals, Leo's backwards 5K was one of them.
@@YourIdeologyIsDelusional hmm I dont know about that... if you get a chance make a video, as far as I've seen leo is low risk high reward and can whiff for days
I wish you played every character cause the guides for the ones you do play are the best and most comprehensive I've found so far. I do way better with the characters you play just because these guides are better than the ones I've found for other characters.
Dawg, I’m aware of that, but it’s a beginner’s guide lmao Most of the GG playerbase is floor 7 and below. I promise most of the people watching this guide are not fighting Leo’s that use stance cancels.
@@danielkruger7589 I still think Wurde is better. Stun Edge gets easily low profiled by almost every 2D and 6P in the game, Slash version is single hit as opposed to 2 hit Wurde (which straight up wins zoning wars sometimes) and the reward for using the slow versions to approach or mix up is heavily in Leo's favor, even taking Shock State into account. The air versions of Stun Edge are heavily punishable and send Ky further into the air and extending his recovery frames to an absurd degree. If Ky had access to slash Wurde instead of his regular slash Stun Edge, his viability would skyrocket as a keepaway/footsies character. sincerely, a struggling Ky player
Hey brendan sirrr im. In ur discord and id love to play ur zato .... ironically i use leo... i promise will be the best leo you have ever played ... if you interested HOLA
Man it's weirdly humbling watching people who actually know how to play Leo vrs how I play him. compared to you I'm just button mashing and hoping lol.
