'kids today' are listening to real musicians, from what I understand of your comment you seem to be implying that 'real musicians' only exist in a certain genre/era of music. I have to disagree. There are so many artists out there nowadays who are just as good (whether through technical prowess or emotional depth) if not, better than musicians from earlier years.

MangoJuiceTwinkie well please tell me who these "musicians" are. i can name only one true musician and his name is Leon Bridges, he can sing, dance , and play instruments. How many others today can do that at his level? and i'm not talking about genre, i'm just talking in general.

Well, to start off with a similar style to Leon Bridges; The Alabama Shakes, they are a consistently talented band who channel a certain air of 'rebellious punk' to the feel of their songs while in keeping with classic 'Blues' styles, with Brittany Howard's vocals taking the spotlight with her phenomenal range. If you were expecting more 'modern era' musicians, you could look into 'Hozier' a guitarist with a gravelly and emotional voice supplemented by his gorgeous lyrics that I find incredible. And if you wanted me to give an example of a pop musician, look no further than any of 'Sia's' songs (particularly 'chandelier' or 'elastic heart') she couples performance art with a lot of her pieces to sort of craft an 'open for interpretation' message for the listener/viewer. I'm not disputing the talents of Leon Bridges, if I disliked him why would I be here listening to him? However I do disagree with you comment about there being a lack of real musicians. You just have to know where to look and what it is you enjoy.

MangoJuiceTwinkie I have heard all of them that you speak of. HORRIBLE! compare them to Leon and it is night and day! Now, that is my opinion and i respect yours, everyone has their own. I love the Blues, i love Rock, Old School R & B, Old School Soul, I hate Pop but i love the talented John Legend. I wouldn't put him in the pop category. It's ok for you to disagree, like i said we all have our own tastes, right? I enjoy lots of music, i don't know what i would do without it. I'm an artist, so music is just a necessity to me. Another popular one that was a top hit was What does the fox say? which is a song about literally nothing. Leon's music actually has a meaning to it, unlike 80-90 percent of today's hits, and thats why his music is REAL music. Real music connects with your soul. If a song about butt sex juice or fox sounds connects with your soul...well....then so be it.
