Eric Malling reports on the case of Leonard Peltier, a Sioux Ojibway and a member of the American Indian Movement (AIM) serving a life sentence for the murder of two FBI agents in a 1975 skirmish at the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation. Malling examines the FBI's conduct with respect to the American Indian Movement (AIM) in general and Peltier in particular, such as their use of false affidavits to extradite him from Alberta and their suppression of evidence at his trial. Also examined is the extensive media coverage the case had been receiving in the Soviet media. Malling interviews Peltier who claims he was shooting in self defense and doesn't believe his bullets even hit the men who died.
Peltier remains incarcerated at a United States Penitentiary in Florida and is next eligible for parole in 2024.

Since when does the FBI investigate stolen cowboy boots?!! 4 Native Americans were charged. 2 were acquitted on self defense, 1 had charges dropped but Peltier convicted of double murder. Typical FBI kangaroo court -

Pelteir was a fugitive from Wisconsin and he brought his trouble to the Pine Ridge Reservation. He admitted to shooting the FBI agents. That's why he's not ever getting released. I think people should be praying for his soul instead of his release.

He didn't kill those Federal Officers. His cousin admitted to doing it right before he died. Leonard was a scapegoat because the system wanted him out of the way and it didn't matter that he was innocent. They would have got a conviction of murder even if he had been on vacation in Timbuktu when the murders happened.

In America if you are a part of a group that commits the crime but don't do it yourself you can also be charged with the crime. Some states take it a step further and can charge you with murder even if it's a member of your group dies.

Look at the case of Elizabeth Rodriguez, she wasn't the one who fired the shot or even in the house. She's being charged for 3 counts of first degree murder for being the look out driver. If you are there to knowingly commit a crime and someone gets hurt it doesn't matter if your the one who killed them or not. It just depends on what state you live in.

This Canadian tv show looks like it was made in the 1970s around the time Leonard Peltier was arrested. Btw he didn't shoot the agents--the FBI withheld the ballistics report that stated the bullets that wounded and killed the agents didn't come from his gun. He's a scapegoat and has been illegally detained for 44 years. His parole comes up again in 2024.

Leonard Peltier (born September 12, 1944) is a Native American activist and member of the American Indian Movement (AIM). In 1977, he was convicted and sentenced to two consecutive terms of life imprisonment for first-degree murder in the shooting of two Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) agents during a 1975 conflict on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation. Peltier's indictment and conviction have been the subject of much controversy; Amnesty International placed his case under the "Unfair Trials" category of its Annual Report: USA 2010.[2] Peltier is incarcerated at the United States Penitentiary, Coleman in Florida. Peltier became eligible for parole in 1993; his next scheduled parole hearing will be in July 2024, when Peltier is 79.[3][4] On January 18, 2017, the Office of the Pardon Attorney announced that President Barack Obama had denied Peltier's application for clemency.[5] Peltier can apply again for commutation in 2018.[5] Barring appeals, parole, or presidential clemency, Peltier will remain in prison for the rest of his life.[6]

We all know the gov pulled some find the ball under the coconut stuff.. that why the other two got off.. on :"self defense" .. because someone did some selling someone else down the river.. Those other 2 aren't /weren't being honest about whatever deals they made to save thier own necks.. Peltier was in Canada when they were acquited.. You got Dino who went around like no care in the world.. and Robideau who moved to Spain of all places for work in a museum...... Funny thing to move to a non extradition country after a major trial where you were acquited but your buddy who got a seperate trial was found guilty of the SAME CRIME-SCENE you were charged with...It doesn't take a genius to figure out that the gov doesn't want to show they made deals because we all know how crooked they are and this would be just more proof.. and that his "friends" and brothers in AIM sold him out for thier own freedom.. Please set him free. He has been in jail since 1976. I highly doubt this old man will do any harm to any human being ever again; if he really ever committed this crime at all, but just set him free. Hey, the Soviet’s believe him. Would you allow him to move to the Soviet Union? If you don’t want him, allow him to move to Russia. If you don’t want him , please let him go to Russia

Leonard Peltier is not a north amerikkkan Indian he is a member of the indigenous Nations of what is now called America. In the darkest days of my Nation , when famine ravaged our country because of English indifference and over 1 million died from hunger the Choctaw Nation sent money to help feed our people , we have never forgotten that support and we never will , the people of Ireland will never cease to support the Nations of the indigenous peoples of what is called America.............
