The Swedish naming conventions for tanks is (Strv (stridsvagn - literally meaning tank. Then the number (122, the two first numbers indicate the type of gun caliber (12 cm (120MM) and the third is what version of the tank in the series it is (12(2) in this case the 2nd version of the series s the 2a4 (Strv 12(1) was the first tank in the series. So it's name means (tank 12cm caliber 2'nd version)
That's basically like the U.S Army's weapon naming system. For example, the M16A1E1 is Model 16 Alteration 1 Experimental 1. Neat little detail. XM also means Experimental Model, but if you were designing a rifle prototype, you would put it as, for example, XM31. If you changed the design slightly, it would be XM31A1. If you added a new, experimental feature, like a magnetic assist system, then it would be XM31A1E1.
@@PanzerPaw that is true, but there is the driver's port just below the breech, which is also a massive weak spot and is a one shot from what I've seen
Yeah I just don't trust the round turrets. They can bounce shots you wouldn't expect. Plus, with lag, you might not hit that exact spot you want to especially on turrets.
@@PanzerPaw oh yeah, I forgot about the lag. I have to quit war thunder early because my computer can't even play it on lower graphics xd. Btw do you mind doing a video on the stryker if you haven't done one already?
Shit I was hoping you were going to legit spade it Then I realized the video would be 12 hours long because gaijin thinks that’s how long we want to spend spading a vehicle Keep up the good work I really enjoy your videos
PSO demonstrator (that is modelled in the game) is actually based on the 2a6 atleast in the hull, well it's 2a6ex actually so it should be better than standard(in game) 2a6 as it use d tech rather than c in standard 2a6
I just stumbled across this channel and Im impressed. I love your videos and i have binged 5 so far! I am curious. As a dane, we just received our last leopard 2a7. What is the difference of the pso compared to the 2a7?
Not really that much to say other than it's similar to the PSO but also quite different to the 2A7+. Overall, it's an upgrade over the PSO but with not as strong an urban operations focus. Just think of it as an all-round more versatile tank than the PSO and more modern.
Depending on the Tank, I take 3-5 extra rounds beyond the ready rack. In the event you have a 10-17 kill match you’ll need it. I’ve gotten up to 9, and ran out of rounds. So I found myself upping my rounds. And sometimes I go up to even 19 kills because I didn’t run dry! It’s really a thought process of: “How many rounds can I realistically get off before I get hit in X spot”. But you’ll have to weigh that with ”If I didn’t take that many extra rounds, I’d be alive”. It’s a balance. Because if you feel like you’ll immediately get hit, then ofc don’t take any extra beyond 1. But, if you find yourself firing an average of 3-5 shots before getting even targeted, hit, or penetrated you’re probably good to go a number between that, and use those extra for high kill matches!
I think the downward faxing exhaust could really help outside of thermals, probably 75% of the times i see enemies without thermals is me seeing their exhaust over debris/through gaps in bushes
All modern heat is supposed to be tandem in some way, therefore increasing the penetration of spaced Armour, the reason why ERA exists is to counter the fact that all HEAT warheads are tandem (meaning they have two charges). The reason for them having a pointy tip is cuz it has a small tandem charge there which also ignites the main one once its finished detonating.
@PanzerPaw Can you do a vid using the M109A1 with actual tactics i got it because ive had players on the opposite side using them and i couldn't pen but when i tried it they cut through me like butter. So I'd like to know good tactics for it of you know any that is. If not the M10 how about the T95.
I saw you struggling to kill the T90M. Every top tier MBT of the Russians is very week at the breach and under the front armor. If you shot right under the upper front plate it’s always a one shot or you take out the auto loader.
Meh 1 kill for upgrade you and your spoiled CC power with free stuff stock upgrade are never that easy why don’t you use actual number and calculate each match RP now that would be a real challenge Well calling it a challenge is a stretch when literally every normal player who doesn’t have your privilege will have to go through anyway
People always say that because the demonstrator model was built on the 2A6EX hull. But the PSO is a totally separate program that also started prior to the 2A6. Hence, it's not a 2A6. Or even an A5. It's a PSO. But gameplay wise, it's gonna feel like an A5 more than an A6.
your like me but ive been learning gradually, i see in the comments lower plate lower front plate!! which is true but sometimes in the heat of it you forget and just take the quickest shot but lately ive been really focusing on that lower plate and let me tell you it works especially with my horrible penning type 16 premium it will always net a one shot and in my type 74 g with 400mm of pen i always one shot in full uptiers leopards in the lower front plate but if they are hull down i dont even bother or i try lobbing a hesh on top of turret
I'm seeing that you don't know where to shoot in Abrams just saying you shooting Abrams at the turret ring or the driver's hatch not it's cheeks ik u don't play top tier u said so ur self I'm just trying to help
L2A4 and L2SG. PSO is an upgrade package so it's not an actual tank on its own that anyone operates. But, some countries might have bought parts from it.
Seeing a real tank person man thung perform similarily to me makes me feel better about my skull level, previouslyu my only frame of reference for average was spookston so ya know i felt like quite the shitter.
More like it wasn't an issue previously since a) flammable devices weren't commonly used against tanks at that point and b) tanks typically wouldn't have been in reach of any incendiary weapons that weren't air dropped or artillery launched. That all changes with urban operations when molotovs or similar can reach the vehicle.
Ik this is probably a silly question but u seem to know alot about German armor did u serve at all in a German tank crew or work on leopards at some point?
Speaking of the strength of gun barrels. I'm sure you've seen the images of T series turrets that have been blown off and landed barrel into the ground, not bending or breaking it all. I'd imagine an apfsds into one would definitely render it useless, but short of that, I don't think a standard HE would do it.
While it's true that tank guns are strong enough to resist damage from impacts, the situation you described there would still render the gun unusable due to micro fracturing. Or at least severely shorten it's lifespan. So HE vs AP hitting the gun in the game eh.. I think they'll both be just as bad lol
30:55 u should have attached the winch on it’s opposite side tracks of where u were pulling him to actually flip it like u did in the end. Otherwise you’re just gonna drag it
