The musical isn't a combination of the three books. It's based of the book The Vampire Lestat. The two in this song are Lestat and Armand. Armand being the one singing.
Sorry, just for my own reference : ARMAND What taste is this Upon my lips? A taste so sweet, what can it be? What is this scent upon the air That fills my lungs and comforts me? And whispers low How does it feel? To savor up such just revenge. To smell the fragrancy of loss? And drunkenly inhale his pain. Oh, can it be Your countenance is stripped of all it's dash and dare? And what of your bold confidence? Could it have drowned in your despair? And after all this time I wash my hands of your charade. And celebrate your fall from grace. Preserve that sad look on your face. And praise what God might manifest Himself to beings such as us. For vengeance that at last is mine Comes sweetly after all this time. LESTAT You never meant to help me, did you? ARMAND You, who destroyed all of it!? You took everything! What made you think I would help you? ARMAND If you'll allow me to recall How my requests were swept aside. At every instance I beseached you, I was shut out and denied. You shattered what I once concieved From the moment you arrived. And now you wonder why I gloat here Reveling in your grand demise. You're arrogant beyond comtempt. You beg to share my precious blood. I'd no sooner you in my veins Then to see you with the ones you love. And after all this time I wash my hands of your charade. And celebrate your fall from grace. Preserve that sad look on your face. And praise what God might manifest Himself to beings such as us. For vengeance that at last is mine Come sweetly after all this time...
@IArtIdinaMenzel Yes it is somehow a combination. The Musical tells the whole story of Lestat, thats why louis and claudia are also to be seen. But sadly I myself never saw the Musical. And yes, In this Song Armand and Lestat are singing, right after Claudias death.
@Dosendeckel there is no soundtrack released to this show, sadly. however, you can download some of the songs (such as this one) from the San Fransisco press release, as well as the full show from closing night and the elton john demo recording, on freewebs(dot)com/lestatmusical/
Is this a musical combining Interview with the Vampire and The Vampire Lestat? Which character is singing here? I'm in the middle of reading The Vampire Lestat so I'm a bit confused. Is this Armand and Louis?
sIcKnEsS2009 Drew Sarich. Nowadays he is an Austrian musical singer - you should listen into the soundtrack of Tanz der Vampire (Dance of the Vampires), he plays Count von Krolock in several productions.
It's a really long story...you can read the book and i must to say that Anne rice's vampires are the best they aren't some emo romantic brats like modern vampires. Her books is in classic style. And now about the video...in the second book lestat met armand and did something that armand's group turned against him and so armand forced to destroy them. Lestat wanted leave Paris for travel around the world, armand who became alone and confused about that things begged lestat to love him and became his friend he wanted lestat let him to travel together but lestat refused. many years later lestat who was burned by claudia and louis ( you can see it in interview with the vampire movie ) went to armand and begged him to gave him his powerful blood but armand who had hatred for lestat all those years refused and pushed him down from castle wall....all bones of lestat were broke.
