Igor is Tyler's Death of a Ladies' Man. It sounds exactly how it should for the character being portrayed and the story being told. Would the sound work for everything? Absolutely not. But it's perfect for the purpose for which it's being used.

ON My initial listening, the mixing on IGOR was the main problem i had with it. However after multiple listen throughs I can totally see how it demonstrates Tyler’s deliberateness in his efforts to capture a specific aesthetic and concept. It’s clear he’s going for an underground neo soul type of sound that’s rough around the edges. I think the contrast of this production choice with the subject matter of love, (both good and bad aspects of it) is a really creative desicion and waaay more interesting and exciting than most popular music out now

Idk if id consider them skits, but Kendrick's good kid, m.A.A.d city album is full of "skits"/vocal interludes that are iconic in the record. They add a lot to the narrative.
