I live in Guadalajara. I walk everywhere!! Sometimes 6 miles round trip. On non-busy roads I walk in the street next to the curb. Too many trips and falls already. When the light turns green and it is time to cross the road, I count to at least 5. That's because it takes at least that long for cars to stop after their light turns red. And it's important to remember that cars rule in GDL. Therefore, as a pedestrian, it's for me to see to my well-being, not the drivers.

Hola Mijail Guzman! Your Residente Temporal is initially good for one year after which you have the option to renew it for one, two or three years. It's obviously cheaper if you only renew it for one year. I would recommend renewing it for the three years if you have the roughly $540us to renew it at that time. It is also less expensive in the long run. BTW-You can't renew earlier. You can only renew it within the thirty days before it expires. Buena suerte!

Hola Dave Frye! I'm not sure where your coming from but I did my canje and in Nov 2023 I renewed my Residente Temporal for three more years in Ensenada where I live. Both times there were virtually no lines at the INM and I was in and out in less than an hour with my cards in hand. I was first in line both times after arriving there at around 7:30 and 8:00 respectively and when I renewed it there were only two people in line behind me when they opened at 9:00. I celebrated both times by taking a walk down the bustling harbor malecon and treated myself to a fresh seafood brunch at the foodstand Anthony Bourdain made famous named "La Guerrerense"! You can grab a luxury bus ride from the Tijuana Airport to the bus station in Ensenada for around $12.00us. INM is about a little more than a mile from there and Ensenada is great place to spend a weekend or to live, especially if enjoy really fresh and affordable seafood and an excellent year round climate. If you wanted to fly to PV or GDL afterwards flights within Mexico are really inexpensive. Mucha suerte desde la hermosa Ensenada!

Yes Alex, sorry I missed this Livestream a little late, however I agree make yourself a regular at the tiendas, cafes, etc.... And also when I came down to do my Permanente in Chapala a couple of years ago, I did it at the Chapala Office it took 10 days from start to finish, but back then that was fairly quick and they where very nice and it is a small office . Maybe run into You and Taylor someday in GDL. Take care and thanks!

The INM office in Huatulco wants to see 6 months of income when renewing RT after 1 year. There is no minimum, but they want to see that you have a financial resource.

The Livestream froze and disappeared. No problem, switched for a second to another video and came back, it was all good. As a multi snowbird visitor of Oaxaca, the cost of rent has doubled over the last few years. Any suggestions for cost effective location substitute that still has acceptable shopping options and access to wifi?
