I was totally expecting you to replace the "brass" contacts with the hex head screws with real brass. I think that would pop way better.

I think you're one of the only people who could see any discernable cosmetic difference to the movie prop. You could always include a nuclear-powered particle accelerator for functionality.

All those brass bits are still available. I recognize those hexagonal hose connectors. As a matter of fact, a lot of the parts look familiar to a surplus store junkie like myself.

It is always nice to be able to use real hardware like screws and bolts on a prop like this. When I built my Proton Packs, I tried to use real bolts and screws wherever I could. Also, even though you weathered them with paint, in time, those screws will start to tarnish and rust by themselves, only adding to the "Used and Abused" look of the packs.

I find it kind of funny that I'm seeing other's do things with proton packs when I'm currently under the challenge of 3D printing 3 proton packs before Halloween

@@taylorkreate I did not, unfortunately. I had a lot of electronics work to do and still had to put them together. I still haven't finished them because I had to clean house and get a bunch of stuff ready for family visiting for Thanksgiving. I might make some videos on finishing up unfinished projects, which I have a lot.

Great to see how you improved one of my favorite projects! I use metal-painted gemstones as rivets because my projects aren't as big, but this would probably be better as the paint does tend to chip over time or dull if it gets too dusty.

I would like to see you add your own personal touches that you might have built-into the pack as if it was passed down to you like a family heirloom. Reading about what each of the pack parts names are what the purpose of each part is may inspire you and help you brain storm ideas. That’s what I am doing with my sons. For instance, a while back I wired in an actual car headlight bulb into the wand tip. so that if he was in a dark place he could brighten it up no problem when capturing ghosts. Thank you for all of the great content you provide us with and all of your time and efforts!

Cool! I casted my screws for my Rey’s blaster build too 😆 the hardware I bought was too big (will use for something else later lol) so I did a simple push mold and used polymer clay and then rub n buff (I love that stuff) it turned out great ✨ It’s so interesting watching upgrade videos! Adding all the small details are my fave part of any build 💖 great work!

Love you and your work! I have to point out something that an old machinist pointed out to me years ago. Files and saws only work in one direction, that terrible squeal on the backdraw of a file or saw is actually the blade or file dulling.

If you slightly wetted the screw heads that you scuffed with the scotch brite pad, it'll have a haze of rust over it the next day. Cool effect on a prop, not so cool when the screws are on my motorcycle!

Your videos inspire me so much, I just sculpted a 40 pound medieval German Savoyard skull helmet for Halloween. Got far, but I'm running too short on money so I wont be able to do anything for Halloween. The casting and molding products are too pricy, but I'll continue sometime later. Thank you for making such great content for people like me, excited to see more! Also, was there a time where you started prop making on a budget? How did you sustain your projects and dreams?

love the idea of this with metal screws but I would suggest you get prop ready then cut off bolt and while it is hot from cutting down put them in so the heat will melt plastic so they wont back off down the road.

I'm guessing @9:26, you burned your finger. That bolt would have been pretty hot after all the grinding you did, and it looks like you pull your finger away pretty quickly after touching it to remove it from the chuck.
