Hear me out. Next Ninja Sex Party Cover Album focused entirely on old 80’s and 90’s games and cartoons, (let’s kick some brain should definitely be on there) with like City Escape from Sonic Adventure 2, the Gummy Bear Theme Song, Stand Out from the Goofy Movie, etc. The album name Under the Covers (with a flashlight playing my gameboy) The cover shows Dan under a blanket silhouetted with a flash light and Ninja Brian as his mom checking up on him.

Another high-quality modern title played by our favorite duo Dingo and Andrew

I can't imagine a game more perfect for Dan, I'm _amazed_ he'd never heard of it! It's always nice to hear him talk about dinosaurs ❤ On the other hand, the lizard guy is doing the Protagonist Voice™️ and making a weird amount of innuendos...so he's basically Arin

Oh my gosh watching Arin losing patience and being one click away from getting it really reminds me of watching my dad click on the internet explorer a million times after it doesn’t IMMEDIATELY load then getting insanely mad because a million windows open at once and completely lock up the computer😅

This game is perfect for Dan because it's 80s/90s Rock and Roll Dinos. This game is also the opposite of perfect for Arin because you need patience...making it perfect for us lovelies looking for laughs and reasons to scream at Arin

Love how it took a mere ten minutes for them to go from, "Oh, wow, it's Cam Clarke!" to, "Shut up, dude."

They got a pretty decent handle on the Grunt-o-meter by the end, but I don't understand why this brand of interaction happens so often on this show 😭 Dan: "I think we should figure out how to accurately read the part of the screen that literally tells us where to click." Arin: "Nah, I'd rather guess and then get mad because I don't understand"

This is one of my favorite recent Grumps episodes. An absolute delight: Danny super into everything about it, Arin having fun, early-90s CD jankiness, the way that they know by voice and presentation the specific people who worked on the game. Just a great one-off. (Also: Cam Clarke for Guest Grumps?)

Dan casually destroys every single question about Dinosaurs like it's nothing, with no prep. I knew he was really into them, but this is impressive.

Seeing Cam Clarke and Doug Stone here in acting roles was great. I took notice that the script supervisor was Lia Sargent: absolute legend as Dorothy in The Big O, Chun-Li in the Street Fighter II animated movie, and especially Milly Thompson in Trigun.

I bet the story how that song came to be went something like "Ok, we need you to compose a rock song for our dinosaur spaceship action game. Something that really says 'let's kick some ass'." - "Alright, here it is!" - "Wait, this actually says 'let's kick some ass' in the refrain! We can't sell it to the kids like that!" - "...The nerdy kids that love learning about dinosaurs?" - "Noo, no, the COOL kids!" - "Alright, gotcha."

Arin unable to find the brain blobs that he was pursuing and apparently was attempting to zombify a dinosaur was more of a pain in the Jurassic than Dan getting excited by seeing that Allosaurus' dumpy at the right angle.

Game: "After you identity the dinosaur you're looking for, you then have to find it." Arin: "Yeah, whatever." Game: Asks Arin if he would like to save the extremely limited time he has left to find the dinosaur by figuring out the type of dinosaur himself. Arin: "No, you do it!" Game: "Okay. Good luck, dumbass!" Arin: "I still have to find it! Fuck!" Danny: "It specifically said that!" Me: "Classic Game Grumps."

Never understood why it didn't continue through the Covid lockdowns and remote recordings since it seemed to lend itself well to not necessarily needing to be done in person.

Fun Fact: Cam Clarke was also the singing voice for Simba in the Lion King II, though yes, he is probably most well known for the OG TMNT cartoon from 1989 (personally, I am a bigger fan of Rob Paulsen, the voice of Raphael). Also, hot damn, that brain kicking song was unexpectedly good. I am so happy that Dan made Arin let it keep playing. Dan's right, that key change was incredible. I'm about to rewind and listen to it again six or seven more times.

47:52 CHIODO BROTHERS!!!!! The whole time I was thinking “man the dinosaurs look incredible, especially for a video game from the 90s” NO WONDER! For those who don’t know, the Chiodo brothers made my favourite alien movie, Killer Klowns from Outer Space. If you haven’t seen it, I highly recommend watching it. The alien “klowns” look so good it puts the original Chucky to shame (of course it is of its age so the special effects aren’t great by todays standards so keep in mind the technology of the time and you’ll see why I am so amazed by the Chiodo brothers work) Edit: in my haste to make this comment I didn’t get to hear Dan talk about them and when I tell you I nearly screamed (yeah yeah I’m a huge geek, I know) 😭

Dudes I kind of flabbergasted by Dexter and other dinos, I think he is a puppet in FMV cutscene. Impressive puppet looks crazy amazing in low resolution bit form. It's like those Ray Harryhausen stop-motion, just the uncanny valley of movement. {O_O}

What a delightful little video this was. This is what makes GG special. Any other LPer on Earth would approach this game with all the wrong energy; they'd trash it and hate it and forget it. The combination of Arin's game design mind + affable incompetence and Danny's love for dinosaurs + casual gaming ignorance results in a net-positive review on a CDI game nobody liked when it was new and nobody remembered once it was old.

I stopped watching a possibly time-traveling Victorian lady make pudding for this one. Dinos are just more important

I can’t stop rewatching (listening) to this. Dan’s (and Arin’s to Cam Clark) genuine reactions of joy make me so happy.

This was actually pretty cool game. A game actually made Arin sit down and listen to the whole tutorial and made him click on to it in the first place. Besides that it was cool seeing Dino and Arinasaur jam to that theme song, Dans dino knowledge pays off again. I love watching this.

Agh, I can't believe it took me this long to see this video! My best friend in middle school had this game and we played it a lot! I always thought that Danny would love this game, so I'm so happy that GG found it. It's just so charmingly bizarre. Watching this really made my day!

Even though I never played this, seeing Dexter made me super nostalgic for all those kids shows I watched back in the 90s that used puppets.

I think it's really cool how Arin and Dan are in this unique position where they've played so many of these old 80s and early 90s games that they've actually started recognizing reoccurring names in the end credits even across different companies. Being able to recognize these people's work is great for historical preservation of games as a medium.

Just thought I'd let people know that acid rain is still an issue up in the northwest of the USA. We have to take it into account with regard to agriculture and PH control of the soil. It's not as bad, but it still erodes shit regularly.

Holy crap, the Chiodo Bros. did the dinosaurs and the Dexter puppet!? If you don't know who those guys are, they did "Large Marge" from Pee-Wee's Big Adventure, the puppets in Team America, and tons of other stuff. Insane. EDIT: And Dan literally points them out one minute after I did.

Gotta say, the fact that the characters are all puppets is such a cool touch in this game. With such a low bitrate, the puppets basically look like really really good CG, especially when compared to the CG that was possible at the time.

...... I wish NSP would do a cover album of videogame songs, including this game's theme and the ending theme for Phantasmagoria........
