The brisk winds of the unholy night beckon once more as Jonathan Morris and his trusted confidant, Charlotte Aulin find themselves at the foot of a familiar scene.
The gates of the castle lay uninviting to all who would stare upon its gaze. Yet the brazen blonde whip wielder shrugs off the foreboding visage of the dark castle. Luckily, Charlotte will help keep their wits together as they embark on what will be the most dangerous adventure of their lives.

Sweet. Something to be excited about. While I was put off by the darker feel of the game, compared to Dawn of Sorrow, This was a blast to play. I remember hiding in the bushes in the backyard to use my neighbors wifi so I could sell things online. Good times lol.

Haha that's a great little story and I can totally seeing something I would have done. I prefer the more darker tones versus the overly cartoony style of Dawn of Sorrow. The following game steps into even darke territory! Thanks for sharing!

The first area music always delivers on the metroidvania games! They even did it right on Harmony of Dissonance xD Jonathan and Charlotte make for a pretty good team. They compliment each other well and keep each other out of trouble, er well Charlotte keeps Jonathan out of trouble mostly lol. Ok here we go....Jonathan, Charlotte, Jonathan, Charlotte, Jonathan, Charlotte, Jonathan...........

Heck yeah man, you know how these games work! It's a good combo to have the brash but strong determined and the equally logical and strong minded confidant. How can we forget fast switching!

Oh yes, here we go! Portrait is honestly a fantastic game, I remember that back in my high school days I'd play this and Resident Evil DS quite a bit, actually. And you're not kidding about the music, it's got some of my favorite tunes in the series. As you mentioned, Michiru Yamane strikes again with her amazing stuff, and there's also Yuzo Koshiro. Now, he hadn't composed for Castlevania before this game, but you might've heard his stuff in the Streets of Rage, Shenmue, and Etrian Odyssey series. Basically, he's 50% of why as a kid I'd pick Streets of Rage over Final Fight any day (the other 50% being the fact I didn't have a SNES growing up). Speaking of that, I DID grow up with a Genesis, and with that came my first Castlevania. So you can imagine with my first game in the series being Bloodlines, I was excited to be playing with another Morris, and you can imagine my joy at some of the surprises the game has later on. I'll definitely have to bring them up when they come up.

Absolutely the music conveys such a blood pounding and motivating surge in the player. The music of these games are some of these reasons why I play them! I have not played any of the games you mentioned but I can only imagine the quality of the music in them. I never really played too many classic Castlevanias but I do my homework for these series and I can certainly see Bloodlines beings a stellar first entry! It will be a great time to discover all of the hidden secrets this game contains! Thanks for your indepth comment!
