Let's Roleplay Kenshi | Ep 14 "Easy Days" 

After this episode there is going to be a very large time skip, with production running as well as it is the next step for our intrepid band will be collating the resources necessary to move beyond the walls of Squin

Scorchlanders (Spot's race) are not good labourers, but they make excellent craftsmen. They have 20% bonus to Weapon Smith and Armour Smith skills, and it will level up much faster especially when it's over 70s compared to other races. So if you plan to have a permanent smith later on, they are a good choice. Athletics skill is also important of course, so good for her to do some mining for now. They are good runners due to Athletics bonus, but if you can find one, Hive Prince and Hive Worker Drones are the best (they have the highest max speed in the game). Speaking of athletics, Dogmeat can also use some practice. Make him follow one of your labourers. He won't get the full % until he's an elder (you'll see the multiplier if you hover over his age), but it's good to start early. You will find an answer to Ruka's leg problem in the Border Zone if you explore the east of the ravine. Certain blueprints spawn in certain locations. Shek won't sell the blueprint for katanas for example, as they have no use for it. No matter how good a weapon smith you character is, higher grade weapons will only unlock through tech. Further tech levels will require ancient science books to unlock. Armour grade however is not limited by tech level. Specialist grade leather armor will really be useful early on.

You could consider buying another ruined house or building in the town, there. Use it for 'sleeping quarters', power generation, maybe a large yield storehouse or separate your industrial buildings from your more finesse-based jobs and research. And under the RP guise of more space for more people, establishing a permanent presence for your 'Legion of the Free' - which you could change to the 'Freedmen Legions' later on - or just paying back the town for taking you in and protecting you.

If I was Spot, I think I would train from the other side of that training dummy. Sand is training right behind me, and have you SEEN the reach on that guy!

If there isn't storage for Skins they won't collect them. Also, will you be doing more RP conversations? Seems kinda like you do the beginning and a little in the Middle but you don't do all that much. I hope you can do more Conversations between the characters. I don't know if it strains your voice or anything.

Okay rycon. Long time lurker. I must say you are simply amazing making in telling stories based off games like these. Keep up the good work and I love this game and it makes us relate to the characters that you play. I just simply love the way you play it

Rycon, I'm so glad to see another episode! I didn't watch the Town Hall, is there gonna be two episodes per week now? NEAT! Now, tip-time and comments for amazing youtubers and others, writing as we go along: 1. I think you need a skin storage to forage skins. 2. Dead bodies disappear quite quickly, some times. They often disappear on reload, *even if being carried* which I was dismayed to notice. 3. I think you have done this before but it bears repeating since you seem to have forgot in that case, *you don't need to sell from character inventories, you can click on containers, say the copper storage or weapon cabinet, and sell directly from them*. 4. Poor Legion, having to sleep exposed to the elements with not even some fabric over their heads :D 5. The farther a character is from the max level of training equipment, the faster the training will go and vice versa. So you might as well just make a MKIII dummy, since it will train somebody faster regardless and you're still gonna go and buy supplies any way :P 6. Regarding "reach" for owned containers: It's pretty big. Not town-sized, but a fair bit of that. You'll easily cover all of Squin with that reach, *I think*. At least when it comes to selling directly from containers :P And just putting stuff into containers from a character inventory, well, tens of metres at least I believe :D 7. Don't forget that you can check the actual max speed of characters by expanding the bottom left! :) 8. Good loot. Shame there was no standard grade stuff tho', always remember to check for that! It usually quadruples the price or something and the stats are way better. Most standard grade stuff at your level right now is worth keeping, even if it's only heart protectors it's at least something even if it has crappy coverage :P 9. Oh, you can change if injured characters go and rest automatically in the AI-tab, it's in the same window as research/crafting/faction information/etc. etc. 10. Massive structures, yeah. You might also notice you're walking on concrete rubble in the Stenn Desert :D 11. Real nice loot. *You don't need to sell the standard grade spiked helmets, those would actually be better than anything your people, except Park, have. 90% coverage too.* Those will age well, and will probably be a core part of your fighters' uniform. Even shoddy ones are still quite ok. They're not good for crossbowmen, but getting high enough perception/skill it won't matter. Their only drawback is that perception penalty, which doesn't matter unless you use a crossbow so they are very good helmets in that regard! 12. You could set training as jobs btw, same as one always does :) Thanks for a great episode, shame about the crash! It happens sometimes, but only rarely. It happens a bit more when you mod a lot, obviously, which I do... But one crash in +100hrs of a game is pretty good :P Let's hope not too much is lost, I missed seeing when the autosave was. It should be like 5-10 minutes though.

Get youraelf a skeleton repair kit so you can heal ruka. Because of her injuries you see her athletics has a negative effect of robotics because of her injuries

I believe the Shek Armor Seller does sell Plate Jacket Blueprints very rarely. If I recall corectly I was able to buy one in the past.

Just as a note, the "attack all" option has a rather limited range. If you tell people who are too far away to do that they just won't do anything.

I suggest turning you collected skins into leather instead of selling them, at least if you are close to home. It's a cheap and efficient way to raise armor-smithing, and leaves you with raw material for further (leather) armor-smithing.

FYI. If you have a Animal Skin Container they will automatically Harvest Animal Skin if you have them sent to foraging animals. Same goes for mining ore. You can set someone to Copper Mine, if you have a Storage container to copper you can set them to the container, then to the copper node, they will automatically run back to the container per piece of copper mined, which limits how long they're exposed outside to danger, while still mining ore, on top of getting their athletics up. If you had someone set to Medic, it would be great, sadly you have to worry about slavers nabbing them up. So it's a good idea to have a bed, so if said miner gets knocked out someone else in town can be sent to fetch and patch them up. But outside of those moments you can make money off copper ore without baby sitting as well as crafting clothing/armor to make money early game, so you can do both easily at the same time while still having a party in the field.

Keep the best stuff you make form yourselves, put your people before prophet dude.

I suggest starting to get horse choppers for the beginners as their more defensive and make good tanks, getting your people suited up to be more specalized and leveling their skills up in actual weapons? Odeon survived honestly a fight better with her horse chopper and those big weapons do have more of an arc then those polearms, which are more of a line.

There is a Mod for a fighting Mat so your people can train against each other it may be a fun way to spend time and get them better at fighting its called (Sparring Mats - Basic Training for Melee Defense & Martial Arts) its also on Steam so should be easy to find

pretext: this is not criticism or meant as insult I find it really amusing how many youtubers covering Kenshi end up in "The Squin House" If anything I blame the game for how the wanderer scenario starts. That being said I love to see how people handle the Squin house differently.

At some point nothing really happens, I for once had to reduce the NPC spawns a bit, because of the sheer strenght those damn Shek Provers have. 15 Shek all with over 40 in Attack and Defense, no chance.

some more character dialogue would be excellent. you don't have to do extensive animations, just give this series a bit more of a story and give the team more personality and motivation. "fuck you, sand. i'm not running all the way to the waystation for some stupid iron plates again."

I know this is into the void this being from 4 years ago) but a large number of your difficulties have been because you keep their jobs enabled when you're telling them to do specific thing is it going to change anything but I needed to random to the internet where nobody cares😂
