Historically women were not allowed to perform in theater until the 17th century Before that men would dress in drag to play the roles as women. Women were also not allowed to sing in churches so boys would be castrated to be able to sing the high notes in song. So Snatcher dressing as a women to perform on stage is somewhat historically accurate.
Totally agree that Box Trolls is underrated. I just rediscovered the movie and have been searching for anything else related to it. I love all the villains but especially Mr. Gristle. He isn't the brightest bulb in the socket but he surely made me laugh. Now I've got to find the book.
I fell in love with Boxtrolls from its first teaser trailer. Egg as a toddler was adorable and the phrase, "Some families come in all shapes and sizes, even rectangles" captured my heart. The Boxtroll film did not disappoint. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Di_w1K5fEMg.html
Great video! I love your editing style, you deserve wayyyy more subscribers imo. Also I legit thought this movie was a fever dream I had when I was like 8. Thinking back on it this movie definitely triggered this weird childhood cheese snob phase…tbh I don’t even know what I was on as a kid.
Thanks much appreciated I’m just starting learning how to edit so I’m glad you enjoyed it. Yeah this movie was something else I really enjoyed it need to watch it again
Nice man you always bring the heat! I think it’s interesting that laika reshows coraline and paranorman every year in theaters but never this movie or even kubo. I know this film has a fan base, even if it is pretty small
It is underrated. But out of the main LAIKA films I’ve seen it’s still at the bottom for me. My ranking goes in ascending order Boxtrolls, Coraline, ParaNorman, and Kubo and The Two Strings. I’m not interested in watching Missing Link.
@@Infinite_Repeat i guess because it’s protagonists aren’t children but at the same time its not dark at all. It just hasn’t grabbed me at all from what I’ve seen. I’m sure there isn’t anything objectively wrong with it, and it looks cute and harmless, it just doesn’t come across as on brand for them so I just wasn’t interested.
