This video is based on my opinion and knowledge of years of collecting. This video is not to slander any company but to give facts on the current company's grading status.

I have a 1985 Gretzky O-Pee-Chee 120 that I bought a little over 30 years ago that I bought with some birthday money my grandmother gave me. I’d really like to take it into KSA to get it graded purely for sentimental reasons. If that card came back as a 7 to me that would be as good as a 10 after all these years.

When KSA started off in the early 90's it graded extremely stingy. Now it's all over the place.

For people wondering if MNT sells as much as PSA or Beckett, for the main big hitters like Jordans and Gretzkys Charizards stuff like that you might wana stick to PSA..buuut I've did alot alot of comparison sales on eBay like a MNT card graded 9 and the same card graded 9 in PSA and the MNT sold for 30-40$ more, not gonna be case all time but MNT is def making name and blowing up, I'd say best Canadian grading company forsure, plus owners worked at Beckett for years and years

KSA under grades in my experience. Submitted 100 minty cards, not a single 10. I've even cracked some KSA 9' and 9.5's that then graded 9.5 with BGS. So I've received many "gem mint" grades from PSA/BGS/MNT but 0 from KSA.

1-2 months for PSA lol. It’s more like a full year now if you can even submit. I prefer PSA cuz I like the simplicity of the slabs. But they make it difficult for Canadians. Also I love this idea that KSA or whoever graded too easily. Meanwhile I just read a forum post where a guy sent in a KSA 8.5 and 9.5 and both came back as PSA 10. So either A) KSA is grading harder or B) it’s totally random. I trust all these companies relatively the same. It’s all humans grading, so ultimately if the grader is having a shit day you’re probably not getting an accurate grade. I’m hopeful that HGA really takes off. They’re off to a roaring start. Looking forward to getting a couple cards graded.

Great video explaining grading and the different companies that provide grading services. Too bad that you didn’t have a card graded by MNT. For me personally I would just want an honest grade. I would like to use a Canadian company because they are local and provide quick turn around. It is too bad that KSA overgrades because like I said I would just like an honest grade on my cards.

I have a graded ten gma acetate mcdavid from his Erie otters days and they graded it a ten meanwhile the card wasn’t completely cut so there is still a thin line of paper on the top from the sheet the manufacturer made the card on. If it was any other company it wouldn’t be higher than a 7

What's your thoughts on BCCG, which I'm told is part Beckett company? Overall, my favorite is BGS. I think they have the best looking case and grade the hardest for TCG cards (Pokemon, Yugioh, etc.). For Canada only, I like KSA because they've been in the business much longer, their cases are OK looking, but I definitely like the looks of the MNT cases the best because they're similar to BGS. But I recently chose KSA for some TCG cards I'm getting graded because (a) I trust KSA more, (b) they had better price and turnaround time, and (c) I didn't want to ship my cards across border to PSA or BGS nor pay all the extra fees.

Not a fan of bccg they are associated with Becket but aren't acctually with Becket. I read they don't affiliate because bccg doesn't grade well piles of stuff will be graded 10 that shouldn't. I'm a fan of KSA because I don't have to wait months for the cards back. The owner is great to dela with and I'm 100% game helping a Canadian company

I sent a 100 card order to GMA last week for grading. Will update when I get it back, but if they grade as easy as I've heard online should be a good profit based on the cards I sent in even though they are a cheaper option

Up to the minute... It is now $120 USD per card with PSA & BGS. That being said, i think KSA improved a lot as far as realistic grading. I got really nice cards from them which were not over graded at all. Just saying, KSA is still grading at a fair price, $40 CND per card.

These are old gma cards that he’s showing. The slabs now are very similar to psa. No they don’t give out all 10s. That’s just internet talk by people who never used them and wanna bash them. Check out topchop sports cards on RU-vid and he’ll show you a great comparison with GMA and the other big 3.

i am contemplating psa, its annoying having to go threw the boarder and all that currency exchange. too bad they dont have canadian branches. mnt would ve considered yet if you got cards graded, even to sell, you dont want to lose money. even though they do it right. when you buy psa, do they have the canadian price verse american? or is it just american and you have to do the math to figure out what you have to pay?

Only advice I can give is Find a shop around your area that does PSA group submission. Cheaper and less stress than shipping and fillout yourself. I pay $23 a card plus shipping to ship all the cards to the guy to send to PSA

I always thought that KSA was a one man operation? I am going to grade 10 cards with their October promotion. Also important to note is that KSA will not grade thicker stock cards as they do not have appropriate cases.

I was just there last week in Elmira, sept/21 and they were not comfortable grading a thick card for me. It looks to be a very valuable card and they would have loved to grade it for me. I really appreciate their honesty. They just didn't feel comfortable with the chance of possibly damaging the card when sealing it. I'm going to a big card show in Nov. and I'm looking for somebody that can grade my card. I did leave 3 cards with KSA and they seem to be very professional, nice and honest. I wouldn't hesitate to go back there. I have some more cards to be graded.

MNT appears to be quite legit and they look really nice. Very similar to BGS in style and price structure. They also put a sticker over the grade so that you pull it off to see the grade. With BGS, they have tiered service. For a lower price, you can get the card without the subgrades and just a total grade number. The raw grade option is nice but if it grades well, you re submit it and pay more to encapsulate. I hear, don't quote me, that GMA is good for memorabilia like footballs, helmets, jerseys etc at authenticating autos and game worn claims. I have not looked into this much beyond a couple of friends mentioning it to me. Their cards however are trash. The case is OK but cheapish, the label is meh, the grading is subpar. I however like multiple grading companies, I have no allegiance to any specific one. I like PSA for old stuff, like you mentioned and BGS for everything else. This is strictly a value reasoning. I would LOVE to submit to MNT and try their services. Great breakdown. Basically the same opinion as 75%+ of the community.
@thecardcollector255
@thecardcollector255 4 года назад
I agree gma is garbage And if mnt grading did some monthly deals I would deffinally get them to grade some stuff. But 23$ plus tax a card and shipping there and back. If mnt goes to a show love to get some stuff raw graded from them

@@Tor109 Exactly lol. I even found them to be stricter than psa on centering. I also cracked a psa ten and sent it to gma; it came back a 9. Granted: that's a one card example; but it shows that gma can be stricter im some cases. I've purposely sent in cards to gma with barely visible defects that I've seen under my jewelers loupe, and gma caught it too.
