This is the 3rd iteration of grading comparison between PSA and GMA. Stay tuned to the end where all of my PSA vs GMA data compiled and the average variation I’ve found between the two companies.
I've sent to GMA numerous times in the past couple years. I loved the new label, but really love the new slab case design as well. They've always had quick turnaround times and super accurate grading in my opinion. It's a shame everyone is so stuck on PSA when they do some many things wrong. Sheep. It hurts the hobby as a whole I feel. Don't get me wrong, I own hundreds of PSA slabs, but they aren't the "Be All End All" of grading companies.
Second comment after watching that last one. If you go to their website and see their grading scale, it might help determine why they gave it a 9 over PSA's 6. Maybe they missed it. Or since it's on the back and hardly noticeable they didn't think it detracted from the overall aesthetic much in their eyes.
There's another video on here of a guy cracking open 2 GMA 9's and a GMA 7 and sending them to PSA. The 9's came back 10's and the 7 came back an 8.🤷♂️
Cracking and resubmitting is throwing off the pop counts. I dont remember the card but i saw a video pointing out how a card numbered to 10 was graded 17 times. Just another reason to take pop counts w a grain of salt and collect what you enjoy
The better question is why would you grade with PSA when all grading companies all grade near the same and PSA is the most inconsistent and do pop control but people will continue to pay more for the red ugly label
