I tried fitting in for forty years and I died or you could say I killed myself spiritually so fellow infjs do not go against your intuition and know your limits boundaries and peace of mind body and soul because until you love know yourself you won't be able to access your incredible abilities and gifts , which is your purpose bless all and everyone cherish your consciousness ❤️🙏😇

Brilliant!! As a 75 year old INFJ, I can comment on a few things that might add clarity: Paradigm Lock: It is true. I tend to go all out on what ever I am studying at the moment! And it is the absolute truth. However, except for a few areas, the burning truths tend to fade fairly rapidly and new studies emerge. These new studies then become the absolute truth, even when they contradict the old beliefs. I am amused at this. Interestingly, I tend to recycle back to the old beliefs from time to time, and each time it grows in depth. Of course, often I have totally discarded that old belief. This absolute focus on a paradigm helps to fully synthesize inner aspects of it. Growth always goes on. In terms of being connected to the energetic aspects of the people and the environments around me, my age has really helped me. It is like being in this world but not of it, at least to the degree that it becomes psychically draining. I may fully intuit the energies of those I am around, but the amount of that energy that I allow into my own aura is on a continuum. I do not abide fools, but I am available to help when needed. Still, vigilance is always necessary. For me, the door slam only occurs when I feel betrayed, especially when I realized that someone is trying to cause me harm. I agree about Jung. Also, Stoicism has been one of my burning truths recently, but most aspects of it no longer trigger that paradigm lock. I noticed, when I reviewed my whole life, that I have always tended to be a Stoic. I think you got the Justice system right, also.

FYI…the infamous door slam is involuntary. Yes, we can choose to shut a person out and close the door. We can make that choice and do it effectively. But the door slam is altogether different in my experience. It’s something that happens as an automatic defense mechanism. Like when someone trips an alarm and suddenly bars drop down out of the ceiling to block the danger. The door slam is similar in that it’s not there, something happens and then it just is. Whoever has triggered that defense mechanism suddenly no longer exists in our world. There are no feelings towards them good or bad. I know people live in France. But they are faceless, nameless people that I have no particular feelings for because they are not part of my world. Such is the fate of someone who triggered the defense mechanism of the door slam. They become another anonymous person “out there.”

Yes, a threat is a very serious thing to an INFJ. I cut off people who threaten me in any way. Since I am older and I am independent I don't have to tolerate bad behavior from anyone.

An absolutely fantastic presentation. Having 57 years experience in this uncomfortable yet fantastic manifestation, I would say you nailed it, spot on. I would like to comment on the door slam though where I differ slightly. I see it as an essential strength, rather than a weakness. I am rather slow to apply it. Being an empath, obsessed with constantly collecting new information to analyze and further develop my model pertaining to human and societal existence, I don't look for contact with people I don't like to connect with, but incidentally connecting with these, I shall definitely use the interaction to learn. Being at a distance, if they have nothing or nothing further to contribute to my understanding I shall avoid them as far as possible. But door slam is different, closer, more intimate. Door slam is actually a defensive or preservative response. The more intimate nature of the relationship usually means I KNOW the person very well and they are NOT or no longer an "analytical project", but part of my functional environment. Now, if they are constantly and repetitively disrupting my environment, despite direct requests or subtle nudges and hints not to, my discontent seems to automatically rise inadvertently and sort of unconsciously. I am not keeping a little black book noting offenses and easily forgive, or think I do. Yet somewhere deeper, transgressions seem to be inconspicuously noted. Then one day, even something small like the straw breaking the camel's back, is added to that hidden "forgotten" file, subsequently leading to the person's deletion, door slam. It is not planned or intentional but a sort of automatic, 'okay, that's it we' re done! ' I was not intentionally or actively building a "case" against them or keeping score, but it seems that subconsciously I was. When this happens and I analyze why, that hidden file file is now opened and the reason(s) completely obvious. But the door slam is defensive and preserving for my functional environment. If someone is prejudicing that environment and they refuse or are unable to stop, they simply but absolutely have to go, in order for me to maintain my own sanity and happiness. Consequently the door slam does not influence my openness or availability to disparate personalities and apparitions at all, it just ensures neutralization of those void of any and especially positive contribution to my growth and environment. As an INFJ I love all people and would put my life on the line for them, even if I don't like them. Yet, despite loving all people there are very few of them that I actually do like. And this is not mere linguistic mumbo jumbo or conjecture. I was a policeman for nine and a half years and put my life on the line for many people I didn't even know. Love and like are two completely different concepts, with love being universal but liking relative, a personal choice based on constructive connection. God bless, I look forward to more!

Bingo! Put in very eloquently. Also it being applied is rarer than what ppl assume. We don't go door slamming ppl who have hurt or bothered us right left and centre. From what I have noticed, infjs only doorslam a handful of ppl throughout their lives.

I agree on the door slam, I have only done it when I am absolutely convinced, after many attempts at communication and more second chances than I can count, that there is no hope for cure. (and also many explorations of multiple ways to perceive and ways to interact. ) If they derive satisfaction from being harmful, and are not going to change, I am out. Safety reasons.

By the power vested in me by the function of introverted intuition l officially bestow upon thee, the official title/monica of "MBTI Whisperer" 😂 Phenomenal breakdown, your mind works in such a beautiful way man. Bravo👏🏾 I believe the "magnetic pull" that you were describing from 16:58 to 17:42 is the INFJ #epiphany. We get it through the connection of dots(data points) and reaching into the "ether"(our subconscious) until, "Ah-ha!" a revelatory pattern emerges seemingly out of nowhere😄. I believe it works like so; our conscious mind through Ti & Fe sifts through data and creates seperate logical data points/clusters. All the while our subconscious mind (through Ni) simultaneously observes and draws lines linking everything going on in our conscious mind from a more removed & elevated vantage point; elevated enough to allow our subconscious to perceive patterns forming around/from the aforementioned data points/clusters. At some point in this process of rumination and observation a pattern becomes apparent to the subconscious mind and as the conscious mind reaches for a summary/unifying answer, the subconscious hands over its findings to the conscious mind in a flash of inspiration kind of way, et Viola🗯! An example of this is when one is fitting pieces to a puzzle whilst unaware of the bigger picture; they keep moving pieces around until something clicks. I have a feeling Mathematicians and physicists go through a similar pattern as well when solving for complex equations & trying to explain natural phenomena through theorems. At least, this is my limited understanding of it.🙏🏾✨️

I think I found the perfect metaphor. It's how it was explained to me, even though I'm not sure it's Scientifically valid, or even truly understood. It's when 2 clouds meet, and all their energy comes together, until it passes a certain threshold of enough Energy ― that a Lightening occurs. The Lightening is the Realization, the Clouds are the Patterns observed (through Experience). The Patterns are recorded physically in the Brain, so when the Pattern is strong enough - it comes to Consciousness. BTW - this is a known way the Brain works, in general ― competing patterns in Brain-Activity - that end in a winner.

Bang on around 11.30 with sense of a sometimes jarring between inner world of oneself and being in a social world space. I'm sure some will have the impression I'm quite extrovert because for short times I can use extroverted feeling and appear very sociable but I need a lot of time within myself and don't tend to share (except in personal writing/message communication with a few people) the real introverted side and endless internal reflection.

I'm INFJ - Lowrider; Your topics are very interesting, as an INFJ what interests me is Quantum mechanics, supercomputers like the D-Wave, and how there are many changes that are happening on a daily basis. what I mean by changes new things are arriving in our world from other parallel universes into our, entanglement. there is quite a bit of example like the Fruit of the Loom with a cornucopia, but many people have not heard of (The Great Wall of Pakistan, or The Great Wall of India, now most everyone has heard of The Great Wall of China) anyway, there are many portals being open and with that, there are many dimensional beings introduced into this world. And I think that many of the INFJs can pick up on what is taking place, anyway, like I said your program is very interesting. (The Quantum Lowrider).

It’s funny - as we grow and as does that need to make sense of self and reality, the understanding has to adopt more ‘accurate’ and fitting frameworks. And I think that it can be isolating because the best ones we find are often arcane and not in line with the common understanding

Thanks very much. This is one of the best explanations of the inside of an INFJ I have watched so far and I can attune pretty much to it. A door slam usually only happens with 1 person or a little group as the last possibility to protect the integrity of an INFJ, it is a very strong boundary. The presentation is very accurate, yet doesn't show all facettes of the rich inner world the INFJ itself sometimes doesn't fully understand. And the path of experiencing oneself is very fascinating but often also painful depending on the intelligence level of the INFJ which is usually high.
@9MileRoary

As an ever evolving INFJ I see myself currently and which is fast becoming a newly discovered core aspect is that of a mechanic. This mechanical mindset allows me to not just drive the car or walk through a forest but to understand where the nuts and bolts fit, where the materials come from and how they are processed. How the forces of the micro nit together to shape and construct the macro which underpins our material world that most only see and feel in motion at the surface level. There is a library in my mind and each book has a presence and belief, several books are open at any one time pages and volumes are added to or even burned away as new information comes about through my own journey of life, it feeds and fascinates me to no end.

I can't speak for other INFJs, but I know I tend to attend to other's emotions because I grew up in an environment where everyone had *ZERO* skill, energy or inclination to regulate their emotions. This was absolute *hell* for someone who absorbs the emotional energy of others whether they wanted to or not and is fundamentally unable to remove themselves from the situation. Putting other's emotional needs above my own was often a matter of psychic survival, as well as a roundabout attempt at moving towards my own need for calm and quiet. It rarely worked, of course, and unfortunately, though I am now in a somewhat better environment, the defense habits are still there and I don't know how to adjust them.

Very accurate and much appreciated. 😊 People have mistaken me as an INTJ/INFP but never really fit 100%… when listening, it really seems to me like learning/hearing another language but I love when I come across material describing us INFJs from a unique perspective or interpretation. It’s refreshing and it’s TRUE which means I feel you are accurately representing us in the way I see myself… weaknesses and all. I’m a therapist and believe Jung to be an INFJ… his writings are so familiar and fitting. Also, I love that you mention him noticing and observing the distance between Adler and Freud (also favorites). Jung was willing to question and explore deeper… a true theorist at heart.

I’m not sure if I’m an INFJ but that’s what the test results indicate. I’ve found with difficult people, compassion works well. I just think that person must have had a hard life to be so nasty, and I feel sorry for them. The surprising part is the relationship changes without my having to say anything. I remain somewhat distant but the nastiness has gone. I’ve done the door slam too but only to people who have betrayed my trust. I’ve also had prophetic dreams, fortunately not too often. I’m inclined to see the big picture but still hone into some of the details. Sometimes I don’t follow the rules, but rather think out of the box. I’m idealistic and want justice and equity for everyone. I know it’s unrealistic but yearn for it anyway. So I’m still not sure if I’m an INFJ or a different type.

Doing the Right Thing and the Door Slam are both related to our (INFJ)'s need for inner harmony. I couldn't live with myself if I thought I had hurt someone inadvertently by my actions, but similarly some people are so toxic I feel like I cannot get to a place where we can co-exist without conflict.

Copying @Mark723 - also liked this video and subscribed. I much prefer your thoughtful analysis to those computer-voice INFJ click-bait videos. I have recently come back to this topic and given it more thought. (The RU-vid algorithm has definitely taken notice.) I did the MBTI test back in the early 2000s but thought it was a bit of hocus pocus. But now I feel that a better understanding of the INFJ framework gives me a greater insight into re-visiting my past experiences and then assessing my subsequent reactions and decisions. It's funny to hear your observations of a "type" and then re-live my past experiences through this new lens! Your observation regarding the justice system is a good one. I think that all INFJs share the belief that there should be consequences for actions. We should all work towards an outcome which is fair to all. In theory, that is what the justice system is there for. You're adding good value to the conversation. Keep it up.

Very good description of me as an INFJ. With regards to slamming the door, we’re merely disconnecting temporarily so we can reconcile things before we reconnect. It’s a boundary that I’ve developed, and should not be taken as a rejection. And yes, as you grow older, you grow wiser. It’s the nature of the experiential learner that we are. Look into Human Design. It really dives deep into the individual on a level I haven’t experienced in any other personality modality.

Very well explained!! Some people told me they find me mysterious and I didn't really understand what makes them think so. But now this makes sense because they also ask anxiously "what are you thinking about?" or say "don't look at me" and I guess people feel uncomfortable when they see us observing them (processing their data). For many years I was absorbing other's feeling and I still sometimes get confused about it. I didn't know those feelings weren't mine and it was such a burden until I developed a sharp focus tracking-thoughts habit so that when I notice one thought that seem to come out of the blue, I know it's being picked from someone else, and have confirmed it countless time which leaves people creeped out because sometimes I could pick it accurately.

I am blown away by how accurate your knowledge is of mbti! A very close friend described himself as an onion...peel back the layers, he typed as an ESTP but since I've known him I've believed he was INFJ, and I believe it's true that some say some people type upside down on mbti tests. The first test I took I typed as my superego, which I also believe is common, and I was totally immersed in my superego at the time when I took that test. Many of us who are toed to our ego personality instead of our spiritual personality can be in a constant battle with the ID and Superego.

It’s really interesting that isn’t it? I originally took a personality test years ago when I was in an almost suffocatingly logical period of study, and typed entirely different lol

This is really interesting. I did a personality test when I was 18 for a job application and typed as ESTP. I read somewhere ages ago that its fairly common for an INFJ to present as an ESTP in their youth. I re-took several tests after the age of 40 and every time I typed as INFJ. I've also described myself as an onion. lol. Have a glorious day.

My daughter wanted me in the building I live in now. It’s really good subsidized housing for seniors. I was able to see two different apartments where people were e living in. I couldn’t for the life of me SEE the apartments as they were. I got so overwhelmed with the FEEL of them that I just wanted OUT. Then I saw my EMPTY apartment and was thrilled. My daughter didn’t feel the other apartments like I did, she saw them with her eyes.

NI-FE is empathy , If you read Carl Jung you would know empathy comes from intuition not just feeling functions, also try real Natalie Pillard on Carl Jung and intuition. Also ni is based archetypal information advanced pattern recognition it's a perception function(from the unconscious) not really about organizing which is more a judgement functions like ti but this was a good video thank you for taking the time. also we have demonstrative Fi(its our critical function called the witch/senex) its 4d just like our Ni is 4d , its just we don't value or fi but it plays a major role in our lives. well keep up the good work stay beautiful.

@@Nathanelder.expressthis thank you I appreciate the response, you also might like the book meeting the shadow, its very powerful if you are into self-transformation and healing. I hope you know as a INFP you have 4d ni too its just not valued. you also have role ti but again not valued. anyway, thank you for the response and the video .. stay beautiful and always remember to love yourself as much as you love others all the best

Regarding the first strength you bring up, depth of understanding, I think it's largely about how we're so used to putting things into logical systems that we have a good sense of what's missing. As you've said, we are very focused on the cause of things, so we are better at figuring out when there's something more. In the same way we have a good sense of what's missing from the complete picture. When something is missing you described it as 'it just comes to us', but I think it might be more of a culmination of experience showing us the way forward. We do these kinds of mind-exercises so often that we can now better see what the missing thing might be. We have our own way of creating this deep understanding and the more we do it, the more familiar we get with the process and ultimately, I think we can get to the point where it seems like 'it just comes to us'. A qualified guess with a high likelihood of being right, I think. I'm an INFJ, btw.

I’m curious to learn more about the developmental timeline for functions. You suggested that there is a different pattern - that the thinking function is actually leaned on prior to feeling for INFJ. I haven’t heard about this before but it seems very accurate for my own development, though I was raised by strong T types so that might play into it too.
