This Showtime series was mainly a prequel to the novel and film until they get to the main plot of the story from the original. I guest if they got picked up for a second season then you will get to see the older man named Håkanthe person she actually stayed with.

the series just doesn't make sense in the context of the novel or film because in this version the vampirism is a disease, in which case how would the disease know when Eli has entered a home without permission? It's like they forgot the name of the show. I dunno maybe it's just my love for both the novel and the original film, but I just didn't like this series

I heard of this getting turned into a tv show but then I saw Showtime was involved and pushed it out of my mind. Showtime, HBO, or Cinemax have never produced a show that wasnt tortoriously boring to me. I can't remember all the differences between Let The Right One In and Let Me In but looking at them as separate movies as if not having any knowledge of the other's existence theyre both great movies. Theyre tied for being my favorite vampire movie and among my favorite movies without any kind of qualifier.

i've liked some HBO shows (mostly their legacy content though) but yeah unfortunately, this show was awful. i was planning to do a review on each episode and only made it two episode deep before i quit. i actually haven't seen Let Me In (maybe ill review it in the future) but i agree with you Let The Right One In is a stellar vampire film and also among my favorites without any qualifier also.

@@loneman5154 oh okay, i think it's unlikely it'll get picked up due to the low viewership and less than good reception from both critics and fans, but I suppose there is always a chance. The real question is do we really want another season even if it is getting shopped around ?
