Burnside High School Senior Chorale Burnside High School Conductor Susan Densem Accompanists Lixin Zhang, Zachary Chyr, Chris Petch The Big Sing 2015 Michael Fowler Centre, Wellington NZ 13-15 August 2015
Every member of this performance is flawless, and I equally enjoy Susan Densem’s conducting which so full of energy and precision. I rewatch this regularly. Rejuvenating.
I love Carly Simon and I love this choral group of students. I play it often to get me through a tough time. The student talent is fantastic. The director's energy also lifts me up. Kudos to the percussion gentlemen also! The raving applause says it all.

51 seconds into the video, the young lady with a beautiful smile. I hope life is working out for you and that smile is winning hearts. Delightful and thank you. A great rendition of a good song, well done to all.
Wow this performance was so powerful. This song could be considered an anthem for the 1980s (and I so miss America... I mean the 1980s... same thing, really). It's so hopeful, upbeat and growing.
Though it's been over 20 years ago, I can still remember all of the words to this song. We sang "Let the River Run" when I was a member of our Upper Elementary Choir(4th-6th grade). Great performance!
As a chorister myself I can really appreciate this version. I'm singing this at our annual fundraising concert in October 2019. Greetings from Auatralia
Same here. Choir, Ensemble group, in Highschool and college along with being in concert band, where the most fulfilling times in my life. I always have a huge appreciation when I hear music by choirs/groups like this, and brings joy to my heart.
WTH? It’s not the governments responsibility to provide for the arts. The governments job is to provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare(meaning our countries ability to do trade with other countries and maintain our infrastructure) and Secure the blessings of liberty. Congress and the Senate write laws, President signs or veto bills and it’s the job of the President to enforce the laws congress wrote. That is the job of the government. Private citizens can provide for the arts. It’s called charity!
@@gunner2gunner Schools aren't funded properly, he meant (I suppose) that instead of having school budgets focus more on sports, and things like that, that they could focus it on other talents, like choral programs.
@ Samuel, are we talking about k-12 or are we talking about college/university? If it College/university then they decide how they want to send their money. They are schools of higher learning that are all about the Arts. Juilliard comes to mind. I’m sure they don’t have sports, but then again dancing is a sport if you think about it. Dancers are in excellent shape and condition.
We're coming to the edge, Running on the water, Coming through the fog, Your sons and daughters. Let the river run, Let all the dreamers Wake the nation. Come, the New Jerusalem. Silver cities rise, The morning lights The streets that meet them, And sirens call them on With a song. It's asking for the taking. Trembling, shaking. Oh, my heart is aching. We're coming to the edge, Running on the water, Coming through the fog, Your sons and daughters. We the great and small Stand on a star And blaze a trail of desire Through the dark'ning dawn. It's asking for the taking. Come run with me now, The sky is the color of blue You've never even seen In the eyes of your lover. Oh, my heart is aching. We're coming to the edge, Running on the water, Coming through the fog, Your sons and daughters. It's asking for the taking. Trembling, shaking. Oh, my heart is aching. We're coming to the edge, Running on the water, Coming through the fog, Your sons and daughters. Let the river run, Let all the dreamers Wake the nation. Come, the New Jerusalem.
