I lost a box of my valuable collection about a decade ago. It was basically Revised through Homelands with a solid dive into Legends, Antiquities, and Arabian Nights. Pretty heartbroken about it still, for precisely the reason you just outlined - it's not about the money, it's about being able to open a box of my childhood memories and show it off to my kid.

wasn't MTG, but I used to support my 2 daughters with competitive play in pokemon. same deal, its the thing they remember the most from their childhood. The road trips, I used to teach them goofy camp songs on the drive. Making decks and playing together, buying and trading cards with them. They learned a lot about fair play being honest and strategy thinking. When we get together now if things start to go to a bad place I remind them about a tournament somewhere and poof laughter breaks out and we enjoy the time. Too bad parents don't support their kids with TCG, I wouldn't change 1 moment of my experiences as they are all great. My kids turned out awesome as well and I think the lessons in the TCG we polayed have served them well over the years. Davis337 you are so correct in your comments

Sure you can....long as you got at least a cool million to spare...but hey,goals and whatnot...but yes,I would almost kill to be able to swap/buy/trade like rudy does...must be a lot of work,but he loves what he does..!!..

This collection actually doesnt look that great. It just looks like the guy played 20 different tier 1 decks and took them apart and put the most expensive staples into a binder. Rudy has shown much more cooler "real" collections that really have like tons of old cards old foils complete sets etc. THOSE are cool

Chris Lee yep . My son is 13 and has been collecting since Dominaria. Told him don’t take the cards for granted . When he’s in his 20s and 30s he may have something special to look on and remember. Not so much as the value , but the Sunday’s at the kitchen table with his buddies .
