I can't help but fear a bit for the first party Steam Deck hardware. But if Valve stops making them, that doesn't mean the name or community support will fade. They can offer the name to other manufacturers that make a handheld that have a certain level of performance, ship out of the box with Steam OS and conform to a list of bullet points for things like support, warranty, repairability and the likes.
What kind of bugs me is that game developers often support consoles, switch that its starting to age, xbox and PS whereas SteamOS thats capable of taking the windows version and with minimal effort to work around things, and yet most will refuse to consider supporting and making sure it runs games....
It's always interesting to see people reactions vs market: Valve did a Nintendo in the sense that the most powerful device is not always the best device but rather what the device can do is more important and we have had a proof of that for each generation of gaming consoles no matter what people say.
Yeah the rog ally is a scam out of America in some places in EU it cost 800 dollars but in lot of countries it's 1200 . In the mean time steam deck is equal priced every where.
I really like the steam deck but having windows on it would help a ton with games like dragon age inquisition where they just wont work on steam os. I got the game to run but it just wont pick up the controls but on windows it runs great right out of the gate

I like the steam deck, but Linux is the worst part of the experience for me. I am one of the people who dual boots windows. There are too many games that I like that just don't work with Linux. Whenever the ROG Ally 2 releases I think I'm done with the Steam Deck
@@SteamDeckGaming I clicked to express dissatisfaction as a longtime viewer. I don’t dislike ai, I dislike image generative ai which is near impossible as an artist online to opt out of. Elaborating further, as a viewer I can guarantee that if I weren’t already subscribed to your channel I wouldn’t have ever considered clicking on this video - it conveys to the creative members of your audience that you’re willing to cut corners, potentially at the expense of other small creators, and if used consistently will fizzle out any visual distinctiveness of your content. Given that your content already requires minimal effort (objectively, no offence is intended) it ends up giving the impression that you have little to no passion for what you do, making me want to seek my news/information from elsewhere. Plagiarism is a plague on this website & the internet as a whole, and generative content, whether intended to by the user or not, is playing a huge role in that currently.
