Full sensor readout 8K oversampled 4K at 60fps is really important to me. 8K60p is nice but giving us oversampled 4K60p like we've seen in the Canon R5C and the Nikon Z9 and Z8 years ago would be great! Maybe also 8K RAW recording.
I love my a1 and the other sony bodies I have, but have been extremely disappointed that sony has failed us with firmware updates that brings this camera that we paid so much for up to the level that some of their newer, less expensive cameras have. Yes, I understand that it excels in many areas, but it seems like a firmware update would be a nice thing. So, all that being said, I will never pay this much for a sony camera again since keeping customers satisfied with their purchase isn't a priority. JMHO
Something I would adore is more in-camera functions, such as the pixel shift combination, in-camera combining of exposure and focus-bracketed images, better/faster/more reliable wireless transfer of images to desktop storage and the like. Less noise at higher ISO is always appreciated as well.
I think it’s going to be tough with how good the original a1 already is. I don’t think there will be a lot of changes. My guess would be the auto focus like in the a7rv and the rear screen.
I don't know where you live but in my country the price difference between A1 and Z8 is nowhere near as much as 75%. But I do agree the price of the A1 is way too high and it still costs a lot more than the competition. Sony need to act on that.
I dont know why people complaining about the price of A1 you got 3 main sony cameras in 1 body … the speed of a9 the resolution of a7r and video of a7s with 2 card slot in that small compact body and soo much more and it was released jan 2021 and still on top cameras for professionals untill now
@@MrFhelix17 Because the same thing can be said about competing models from other brands, that are a lot cheaper. A1 is better than them all, despite being older, but not thousands of dollars better.
Integrated vertical grip and CFExpress typ B would be nice. Faster read out speed allowing for flash sync at 1/1000s would also be nice, and better 4 way tiltable display like on the A7RV.
Would like to see better AI focus for human subjects , cable free tethering, 60MP sensor, cheaper+faster memory cards, improved IBIS, some kind of theft protection, built in GPS.and perhaps global shutter if there is base ISO 100
I would like to see (even if i cannot buy it) 8k60 and 6k60 or even 6k120 with dual lenses VR 180, and ND filter at the sensor for VR lenses, 32 bits float audio, the screen from a7r5, ai processor, ssd connection, gimbal like gyro stabilization even with telephoto lenses, 2:35 filming with black bars, auto ai mode to pick person, animal automatically.

Interesting points. I have been a Sony user for over a decade. Starting with the a6000 and then going full frame with the A7 IV which is my current shooter. I’ve always thought about adding an A1 to my mix but as it’s been out for over 3 years I’m reluctant to pay the full price for it. Hence slobbering over the new A9 III with its outstanding form factor, AF and overall tech. But then again that nagging resolution issue and the cost is what’s making me balk thinking surely they will refresh the A1 with all of the updated features. Like the articulating screen, AF and general form factor. Which for me if the price is right would be what I would want! Global shutter is cool but I really wonder if they would be able to do it with higher megapixels? Like you I feel 120 fps is overkill. 30-60 would be more than enough. Even now with my A7 IV I rarely use the burst which is limited to 10. I hope Sony releases a refresh soon with the precapture, AF, articulating screen and updated tech, at least to match their latest systems. But I can see why they may wait to see what the other camera companies do. Nikon has really done well with its Z8. Priced well and with killer features still I’ve always been partial to Sony’s color science and glass. I just recently got the new 300 2.8 GM and it’s extremely sharp even with both 1.4 and 2.0 TCs! Sharper IMO than the Nikon 600 to 800 primes at 6.3. Now if they can just release the updated A1 at a good price point I’d be a happy camper! 😊
I think 120fps on the 50mp sensor even with a global shutter is optimistic. Maybe they could double that to 60 fps whilst enhancing the dynamic range. 50mp is large enough for C8K and 8K with full sensor read out. Some internal storage would be a nice addition. Other additions could be the pixelshift, ai from the other range or not improved more.
I’d love to see something like a rule of thirds AI for film making Something like a dot that fills a circle like on my Samsung GS23 ultra when in photo mode except for video mode so you know that’s the best framing for your shot lol Cheers much I think what you said a better hybrid is way to go 😊❤
Sony likes to skip between releases,, revolutionary, then evolutionary.. The a1 II will be evolutionary.. they’ll put it in the a9III body with the newer flip screen, add the AI chip and all firmware upgrades like focus bracketing, breathing comp, the pre-capture, maybe even the new C5 button like the a9III for short bursts and they may even open it up to 60fps at full resolution but not tread anywhere near the a9III’s 120fps for model differentiation.. the a9III also has a faster EVF then the current a1.. it’ll probably get that bump and they’ll call it a day.. this won’t be a popular model much like the a9 II was crucified.. but the a1 III.. that one may get the global shutter once they refine it more a few years from now.. Love my a1 and can’t wait for the firmware.. Cheers Steph

Is it wrong to speculate, have some thoughts about what might come and share these? And if someone is interested in that, one may watch the video. If not, just skip it? BTW, sonyalpharumours both speculate and also share info they get from their sources, some of which are accurate. Again, up to you if it's something that interests you or a waste of time. Ok, so nobody ever talk about anything in the future because we have NO IDEA what will happen tomorrow when it comes to ANYTHING. Also, he did have something new to post. He had new thoughts about what Sony might do, so he posted. You are not the arbiter of what any channel can or cannot post, other than your own.
