They're not numbered at all. For one, many people don't like the look of this. It's unnecessarily bulky. Also, you can still spend less and achieve the same thing by modifying a marker. And at $1200, how is this going to take over? When you can get an m17 or TMC for under $400. Lmfao.

@@DingleBerryschnapps that’s the wonderful thing about the world of less than lethal. There are tons of choices :-) however, we need to support all of these guys and keep these innovations coming. It does nothing but gives us more choices, more powerful launchers, and it keeps the market moving in the right direction.

Hi David: With the power attachment installed, what are the Joules when shooting 8 to 9 gram rounds? At the range it seemed like everyone was talking about performance with 3+ gram projectiles, but at around 15:23 you said with the power upgrade it shoots up to 520 fps, "with a 9 gram projectile we can deliver 60 Joules." I ask because I'm not interested in its performance shooting Byrna-style 3 gram plastic balls (that Byrna misleadingly calls "ammo" ), nor First Strike's "badminton" projectiles (that's what I call my freebie-obtained First Strike projectiles that remind me of butchered badminton shuttlecocks). P.S. When I tried to add the "Kinetix valve" to my cart a pop-up message says "error" and that I needed to have it as part of a "purchase plan." When I tried a third time, it switched from "Add to cart" to "pre-order." On that info, I'm going to instead wait until that part can be included with my order. Any idea of when the Kinetix valve will be available for purchase?

@@FoundingRU-vidr-2005 thank you for the questions: when shooting 9 gram projectiles via the Kinetix valve we see around 350 fps. In addition, I wouldn’t discredit shaped projectiles for protection. They may not have the ability to apply max kinetic energy, but chemical dispersion has advantages. Finally, the Kinetix kit will be available in May. Thank you

I gotta agree! In over a year of investigating these technologies (originally to make my ex stop worrying about the society around her... long story). But in the process, I've become a fan of sorts of "less lethal" because I feel it gives (especially urban folks) a saner security solution than getting caught up in all the AR crap. Though, I'm starting to think about the tech as a tool for my retirement gig as a Problem animal agent in MA. Coyotes are a real problem here. But dispatching isn't always the way to go. But I digress, yeah... The teardown and rebuild w/o tools was impressive. Especially when the creator of the gun encouraged it... And then is so confident, he kinda just talks Jon through it live. Man! THAT'S confidence in your product!

John did a great job. And yes it is like a custom Hand built Motorcycle. Very expensive. I do feel that it is for a specific group of consumers. Most of us who tinker in the LL community it is too expensive for. At the end of the day whether you get hit with 21joules from a $150 umarex or 60plus joules from a $500 Valken. The damage is still the same. This marker shines for LEO who need large crowd control from a distance with accuracy. Or Correctional facilities. To shoot those long distance for civilians with less lethal probably would not be advisable from a legal stand point. Someone who is not mechanically inclined and want to just plink with their children would be a small group. There are plenty of less expensive Airguns like Hatsan, AEA etc.. out there. I do think they will do good as a company. Much hard work went into it and it is a precision hand made launcher. But not for the working man. But then again the firearm community has their Taurus consumers and their Wilson Combat consumers.

Heheh Well, we all wanted innovation and leaps :) And here we are :)

The BIGGEST part of this discussion that the less lethal market has been missing is what we call Impulse energy. It is very similar to kinetic energy in terms of calculus; however, it is missing one major variable... Delta T or change in time. As an example, two projectiles, one being solid, and the other being frangible with a powder or liquid fill. Mass and aerodynamics being equal, a solid projectile that doesn't deform has a significantly higher impulse energy vs the frangible projectile. This is because the frangible projectile takes longer (Delta T) to dissipate energy upon impact. This increased time on impact reduces, on average, a perception of pain, and localized energy concentrations.

Very interesting to me and very important in terms of utilizing these launchers. If a person modifies a .50 or .68 caliber launcher to 40 joules and uses it to propel solid projectiles with points, arrow-type tips, embedded nails, etc, they've created deadly weapons that, if used against a person, will likely lead to serious criminal and civil liabilities, especially if injuries such as loss of sight, hearing, or maiming/disfigurement occurs. That is why, as far as I'm concerned, using the Paradigm or any less lethal launcher, without "deadlier aftermarket enhancements," is the way to go. These launchers will incapacitate an attacker or attackers if used as created, especially ones as capable as these units from Paradigm.

​@@Paradigmtac Thank you for your detailed response regarding the Delta T variable as relates to frangible (i.e.; pepperballs) versus nonfrangible (i.e.; nylon rounds) and the difference that makes in delivering energy to a target. I, for one, would love a launcher that could deliver pepperballs at 21 and/or 60 joules. Was I correct in hearing that your launcher could launch pepperballs at 60 joules without damaging the projectiles? That would be a real game changer to me. Again, thank you, and where and when can I build and buy your launchers?

@@MichaelWhite-cx4ho, A 3.4 gram round @ 515 fps equates to around 42 Joules. This is the max energy produced by the Kinetix valve with the lighter mass projectiles. As the mass of the projectile increases the energy increases due to higher barrel pressures. Max kinetic energy we have documented was 60 joules with 9 gram projectiles. Thanks

When I was talking to David, and one of the things that he wanted me to emphasize, and I did mention it in the video, is that he actually foresees a ton of other uses for these. These are designed to be fired. I can see this opening up a whole new level of competition, and perhaps even a new sport on top of being a less than lethal self-defense item.

Hey brother, if the tank is leaking at the neck, I would say return it for warranty. They’re usually pretty good about that. As far as moisture getting into the tank, unless you’ve got some sort of desiccation system or dehydration, system built into it that is unfortunately going to happen. You could look into getting one of the electric compressors. They are about 200 bucks and you won’t have that issue.

Using a 3.4 gram shaped projectile the muzzle energy would be approx. 38 joules. At 50 yards the kinetic energy is approx. 19.7 joules, and at 80 yards it's 13 joules. Thanks

Also, keep in mind that that is going to fluctuate if you were using the 60J upgrade. We crammed as much as we possibly could into this video without making it two hours long. There will be many many many subsequent videos coming up to address all of those questions as well.

I know they were playing massive "catch up" and that something very exciting was coming for them so they may have pulled it down until they had them back in stock. I know they do monitor the chat though so Ill ask them to comment on it.

Funny you should ask :) They have a paintball version of the ptx but it’s been banned from a ton of fields. Not only for the FPS but because they are picking off targets at 100 yards :) They are something else!

Yeah, the rain made the visibility a little low, but you can clearly hear it hit on each impact. The thing hits like a freight train. Also, once you’ve got it dialed in and you know right where it’s firing using that awesome optic, it’s like a laserbeam.
