I agree with your assessment to pepperball. If combined with kinetics, pepperball can be very effective. It is possible people could shrug it off, though one can only take so much punishment before complying to the pain. So, dump the whole mag, regardless chem or kinetics, on the assailant and it will give you a fighting chance.

Hey, John, Snowpeak is actually a Chinese company, a division of the defense conglomerate Norinco. They are the largest manufacturer of airguns in the world but, since their business consists largely of private label products for other brands like Artemis and Diana. Lately they've begun selling in Europe under the Spa brand. I have several Snowpeak-made air rifles and like them very much. If you get a line on these, and the CP300 Defender, please let the community know.

Hey guys, if you are thinking about getting one of these, AFAIK only Jon has them, if you are in the U.S., that is. If you are overseas then you can find them (but most sellers don't ship to the U.S. or it is $40 shipping to get it here). I bought one of these from Jon. I really like it. It is high quality and I like the feel of it BETTER than the HDR 50. (I have both so I was able to compare.) As Jon says in his other video, to upgrade the power is very easy. Remove the valve block, that just falls out with a light tap after you unscrew the valve cap. Very pleased with the power. Shooting 2.7 gram aluminum rounds I am getting 35 Joules average on the first three shots! That's stellar performance for only removing the valve block. Lastly, you can buy with confidence from Jon. He stands by the products he sells. Bonus Comment, A Hypothetical: If last year given a Sophie's Choice, to buy the HDR 50 or CP300, but only could select one, I would opt for the Snowpeak. Sorry Umarex.* * I'm not really sorry, but me late mum would sometimes wag her finger and tell me to always say "sorry" to the loser. However, truth be told, I prefer to echo what Sam the tow truck driver told me when I was begging for him not to tow my dad's car he had entrusted to me. Beer Belly Sam responded "that's the way the weenie wobbles kid." So Umarex . . . that's the way the weenie wobbles.

I really appreciate your reviews so we can make informed decisions about these products. Unfortunately, I dont think this launcher is for me. Theres too many other launchers out there that offer more in terms of accessories and honestly I wasnt really impressed with its performance. Thanks again man...very well done!

Exactly what I've been saying about these dudes only taking 1 or 2 pepper balls to a board. Im like yea, take 4 pepper balls to the face and tell me how you feel 😂. You should review the jpx pepper spray guns. There's a 2 barrel and 4 barrel model amd they're Swiss built! Most states allow them. They use them in prisons and stuff like that.

Thanks for sharing this new launcher 2nd type of HDR 50 I've seen for the day the other being the mercury tr 50 something Imo and experience I've found that the 50 cal pepper ball payload is tool light to be effective more efficient in 68 cal so I personally stick with shaped projectiles in 50 cal Cheers from Less Lethal SA 🇿🇦💪

Thanks for another informative video. Always great to watch. I am not very impressed by the twist-to-activate method. I think this would be a fun marker for plinking or practice but for a life-saving situation, I think a more smooth and fluid activation method would be better.

I agree pepper rounds are very effective effective so much I’m willing to prove it by taking 5 round mag ! Just to prove your 100% right! These guys always say these launchers are toys and I’m willing to bet they won’t take 5 shots of pepper or tear gas rounds

Just FYI, not all American revolvers rotate in the same direction. S&W counterclockwise, Colt Clockwise.

I am thinking the hexagon??? shaped drum is actually very smart by design. Lower profile but also in its holster position no rounds can fall out down your drawers.

A cool looking launcher. I prefer the HDR50 a lot more. Not fond of twist to pierce. Not a fan of the way to load a drum. Still co, just not for me. I'm glad you're going to keep the old name. That is a Good Looking Pistol, but I am stickin with my HDR50 with Extended Barrel. Wonder if the Cylinders are Interchangeable between the two Pistols ???

Curious about the drop-off of velocity. My TR-50 does the same thing, so I suspect that ALL CO2 weapons will do the same. Is this temperature related? As the weapon is fired, the gas chills way down, very cold to the touch. Would the velocity remain the same if the gas temperature did not change? Again, curious.
