This is very cool. It looks super easy to set up and use. Thanks.

It is. It takes hardly any time once it’s set up. And even the set up takes very little time.

I’m in Texas too and I am looking to grow indoors exactly for the same reason! 110 last summer low 20s the last 3 days. Thank you for the great video!

No joke! The fact that I didn’t have to change anything due to the whole state freezing and my plants are still growing just fine is amazing.

Hopefully you're still loving yours! I am growing outside but the lights look so cool. 😊

We are definitely enjoying it. We are an out of sight out of mind family, so if we kept it outside we would forget it existed 😂

How did the strawberries turn out ? Did you grow any vegetables and other fruits indoors only, that harvested well?

I'm considering Lettuce Grow and found this review. Just wondering if anyone with one of these systems has an update on how it works long-term. My use for it would be fresh salads and herbs. Would like to know what works and what doesn't work for people. Which plants are best? Did anyone get strawberries to work? Would one system be enough to grow salads and herbs for two people?

I live in Oklahoma and am the proud owner of a gently used Farmstand that I was planning to put outside for the Season, but now I am second guessing myself. Our system does also have lights so should I just plan to keep it inside instead of moving back and forth? I would like to grow lettuce in it and I'm assuming it will get to hot outside pretty quickly.... Soooo many things to think about and learn!

Don’t be afraid to experiment. That’s half the fun! Also, we have only used ours inside so I don’t have the experience of putting it out and dragging it on with the exception of moving it around when we reset it quarterly. It’s unbelievably heavy when full of water so you would have to empty it or mostly empty it to move it. If you planned to move it in conjunction with a clean out where it would already be empty, that would be ideal. But if you have the lights, I’d just use it inside if you have a nice place where it fits. Have fun with it and enjoy the journey!

I have two questions. I’m hoping you can answer. Number one, what are the clear plastic things that are sticking out of the lower level of plants? Number two what gets screwed into the lid in the top of the farmstand? There’s a whole with threading for a screw but I don’t know what goes in there. Thank you for your video and answers to these questions if you’re able to.

I believe the clear plastic things are little trellises to help those plants grow up and not just stoop down due to their weight. And I’m honestly not sure what screws into the top. I know what you’re talking about, but don’t know what it’s for. We’ve never used it.

The problem is that the Lettuce Grow will automatically enroll you in a program without your permission and send you plants and charge your for it. Also, they also don't always have plants, they mostly have lettuce. When you look you think you can grow all sorts of stuff but then it is lettuce, lettuce and lettuce. Also, my pump broke very quickly.
@ThomasTries

Oh no! I’m sorry that happened to you. Did they replace it for you? I haven’t had the issue of no plants being available except lettuce. We usually grow peas and strawberries and some other greens as well as lettuce. But I’m sure it depends on when you run and and need more. Again, sorry you haven’t had a great experience.

So when you harvest to you take the whole bundle or do you cut what you want? How often do you have to replace the saplings?
@ThomasTries
@ThomasTries Год назад
It depends on what you’re growing. Technically you can harvest as much or as little as you want, but lettuce typically is harvested all at once and strawberries are a few at a time as they are ready. You would replace the seedlings as needed based on their harvest schedule. Some things are ready in a few weeks and others take a couple months.

How loud is the water trickling down with the reservoir cap on? If it’s loud, i feel like i might pass on it 😭
@ThomasTries
@ThomasTries Год назад
I don’t think it’s that loud. I hardly notice it most of the time. I’ll see about making a short video of the water running so you can hear it.

How hard is it to start your own seedlings?
@ThomasTries
@ThomasTries Год назад
Honestly, we haven’t attempted to do it yet, but from what I’ve learned about it, it doesn’t seem like it would be that difficult.

I just set mine up today. I bought my own lights instead. Lights were too expensive for me.
@ThomasTries
@ThomasTries Год назад
Yea the lights are expensive. Purchasing your own lights separately is a nice work around.

If you don’t mind my asking, what did you decide to grow for your initial seedlings? Or what are you most excited about growing?

Sometimes we notice some gnats, but we use the yellow gnat traps linked in the description and that pretty much takes care of them.
