Leveling my Truck, Toyota Tundra On 35s.
35 inch tires will fit on stock height. only had minor problems with rubbing against the skid plate at full crank. ( which could easily be trimmed). After i put the leveling kit on i added a 3" spacer which was not the best idea as that's when i started rubbing and i had to trim off part of the bumper.
Only had a messed up saw zaw and grinder to work with but it ended up turning out nice. I ordered a cheap leveling kit off of ebay and the front spacers did not fit, i had to run to the store and buy a front set of ozone leveling pucks and i ended up using the rear parts from the ebay kit.
It added a huge difference from stock, just the tires and leveling kit gave it an amazing transformation.

Jeff What brand of 35's did you get? How wide? Are you saying you didn't need to do a body mount chop? I have a TRD PRO and don't want to lift it at all but would like to put 35's on....I know 34's will work just fine but I've been told that you HAVE to do a body mount chop to make them fit and I do not want to cut on my truck.

Steve austin I did do a body mount chop what I was talking about was the front by the bumper the plastic inner fender well is what I heated up and reformed it. My tires are Thunderer 35-12.50/18 got them on eBay $600 for a set of four when I purchased them a year ago nice tires not to lowed and I have over 10,000 miles on them and they look like new yet
@MegaScorpio43
@MegaScorpio43 4 года назад
@@jeffmroller Thank for the reply and you also answer more questions that I had but didn't ask. My friend with a Raptor was trying to tell me that the Thunderer 35 were narrower and would probably fit my tundra with out the body mount chop...he was wrong evidentally. Also other said that the Thunderer brand didn't last long and one guy said he couldn't balance them but it seems you are having a good go with them and they are a great price. I was looking at Falken Wildpeaks 285/75r18 on my stock TRD PRO wheels. They're a little less than 35's(34.8) and narrower at 11.2 inches which so far seems like I'll be able to make them fit without any chopping.

Hey man, thank you for putting in the work to make the vid for us. Question, with the 3inch spacers you're running around -16mm offset right? With the stock wheels being +60mm offset? Asking because I'm trying to put on 35s with Fuel Zephyrs and those wheels are -15 offset, which means like you I'd be able to drive it without a body mount chop
@citykidoutdoors8716
@citykidoutdoors8716 4 года назад
peekguyy hmm I’m sorry but I couldn’t tell you the exact offset of my settup. I tried searching up the tundras stock offset and I’m getting a mix of different numbers. On the stock tundra without the leveling with 35s I was almost close to clearing if I made a hard turn it would rub slightly. The guys at the tire shop said, 35s with a leveling kit, and one inch spacer should clear without a problem... that being said if your settup doesn’t clear there are plenty of ways to get it to clear without cutting your bumper. I just chose the method that offended everyone :)

@citykidoutdoors8716
@citykidoutdoors8716 4 года назад
what up guy spacers are fine I was paranoid at first with them loosening up on me but they haven’t at all since I’ve installed them. I cut the bumper and took off the mud flaps as far as removal goes. Plenty of different ways to do it such as getting a “bumper shim” or spc control arms which would guide the wheels away from the body more. So cutting isn’t so much a necessity, but I guess it’s one way to piss everyone off 😂. As far as how the spacers feel while driving, it is a little different with the wide offset. Spacers or if you get wheels that already have a negative offset it’s going to mess with your turn radius on the truck so keep that in mind. I personally would recommend something with not as aggressive as a stance if you wanted to keep it more practical, but if you enjoy the look of the tires sticking out ( which I do) you’ll just have to deal with having a harder time turning.

I can’t imagine how shitty the traction is with those ridiculous spacers. Not to mention the beating the ball joints and everything are taking. Get some rims with actual offset. I had $200, 1.25” hub centric spacers on my tundra and every time there was wet pavement and I had to use the brakes it would slide. And get horrible traction off road. Forget snow and ice. And that was with brand new general grabbers.

City Kid Outdoors I don’t understand. Wheel offset by spacers or wheels is hard on equipment in the same way. It still is a leverage/ angle thing. How do spacers make you lose traction?
@citykidoutdoors8716
@citykidoutdoors8716 4 года назад
Jeremy Altis that’s the same thing I had in mind. Either way you’re changing the geometry of the truck so anything other than stock would be harder on the parts. I haven’t had a problem with traction through any weather, yet. Take it, I don’t slam on my brakes when trying to stop. Compared to my old tires that had almost no tread left I would say i have better traction now, but that’s a tough comparison.

Steve austin in my case it was necessary, a lot of people say you can push the liner or get bumper spacers but I don’t think they realize how far foward my wheel was sitting. It still rubs a bit at full crank on the body, I don’t feel comfortable personally cutting into the body. Best recommendation I heard from the company that did my alignment was to get “SPC Control arms”. Can’t remember the exact specs on the tires I want to say they were 35x12.50 r18.
