It would work and definitely be fun. I’ve mostly used mine for panfish, crappie and trout but my son has caught a few bass on it and some real nice trout.

The 6ft lite version is mainly for panfish

Do you mean you can’t change the crank arm from left to right? No I’ve never had one so tight that I can’t take it apart.
