Update a few months later: i ended up leaving the amp like outside of the hole as far out as it goes and just leaving it sit inside the trunk. I put bags and piece of cloth where the hole is and i leave the armrest down that way when my car heats up the heat goes all the way to the trunk to avoid moisture. So far it has not failed since then. It did fail again after leaving it in the original spot. So thats why i did that
I did not lol. But you should at least have the car turned off or the radio audio off. I actualy have unplugged it and plugged it with the radio on but no issues lol but yes recomended with the car off
