5mph more is good. Does it feel like the engine is still making more power in that range? With the mods you have just wondering where it feels to drop off.

Doesn't look like it makes more power up there looking at dynos, but may help with a higher shift point

worst you'll do is float a valve lightly going up that much. If he was increasing it 1000 rpm at a time, it might make contact.

probably just like 3v mustangs. Can handle up to 8000 rpm, they just don't make power up there so folks don't do it. Similar valvetrain on 5.0s that do make power up there I've seen somehow rev to 9000 rpm. Only making power to 8200 rpm. OHC designs from Ford and Toyota seem to be very robust.

That’s very good info. Explaining that there are redlines due to a combo of LIMFACs between mechanical parameters and philosophy of power production. We’ve seen in the past where some engines don’t seem to have both in balance and had to make patchwork modifications in manufacturing in attempts to correct it. Going down this rabbit hole, I’d guess that engines that are supercharged from the factory were based on super reliable engine models that they felt could take more cyl pressure and heat than they initially designed.
