Can’t stand the Yaris X’s squared off wheel arches but it is a bit more elevated as even a small SUV should be.

I think that for a retired single or couple who want a nice, quiet, comfortable car with bulletproof reliability to go to the shops, the family and the bowling club this would be one of the best bets on the market today. Well done Lexus and good review thankyou Tom.

We left BMW for a Lexus NX450H+ here on the Sunshine Coast of Queensland. The Lexus experience includes storing our car for 47 days when we are in France, lending us a car for 5 days when we visit Canberra and inviting us to a 4 hour lunch at the best restaurant in Noosa for the Melbourne Cup. Why wouldn’t we opt to replace our Citroen for a LBX. Our second car does about 5,000 km a year and it is only for very local town driving to the supermarket and plaza where parking can be annoying. Having two cars with the same systems, especially turn indicators on the same side, is far more important than price. We have told Lexus to bring it on.

SUV's should have a minimum height, e.g. 1650mm. The whole point of an SUV is to have easy entry/exit and to sit high to see above the cars ahead. This car is really a hatch.

Absolutely bummed that this isn't coming to the States. Our obsession for massive boats really is to blame. This car is ENOUGH. It's stylish, has most of the newer luxury accents and tech, and of course the reliability and comfort of a Lexus. Enough for a small family, or couple wanting to get around or road trip.

I am living in Europe, and while i like watching american car youtubers, i am preplexed with some of the american perceptions about cars. Your love for huge displacement engines (you find 2.0L engines awful while we in Europe find them sporty...), the love for huge tank-like SUVs and trucks, the lack of appreciation for maneuverability, handling and parking capability, etc. And don't get me started on the manual transmission hype, here in Europe literally everyone drives a manual and no one bats an eyelid, american influencers love to talk about manuals like they are an extreme automobile revelation or something, while in reality automatics are better... It seems the huge open roads and cheap fuel in america have done americans a disservice. You are absolutely correct, this is a great vehicle for people living in a city especially.

This is going to be a huge success in EU market. I wish I knew it sooner i would buy this perfect car instead of my Yaris hybrid, which is also great! I will recommend my brother to buy it!

Yes, this looks great, at last Lexus made a good looking SUV. Let's see the final drive-away price in Australia in 2024.... This car could be over $60K all-up for the AWD top of the range LBX model with metallic paint, sun-roof, etc. And then it gets too close to the next size up Lexus UX 250h AWD (the Corolla Cross AWD Hybrid sister car). The top of the range Corolla Cross Hybrid FWD ATMOS is $53K in Australia and $56K for the AWD of same model. This Atmos has everything on it, including sun-roof, plus has much more power, more room, 1 foot longer inside/out than Lexus LBX but has the same width of 1825mm. If Lexus LBX top of the range price is even $55K drive-away than buying it does not make any sense. You are much better off buying Corolla Cross Atmos Hybrid AWD or $3K cheaper FWD. Lexus LBX does not seem to have anything extra compared to Atmos hybrid AWD Corolla Cross except Lexus LBX is 1 second slower to 100kmh than Corolla Cross hybrid. The LBX AWD is another 0.5 sec slower than LBX FWD (due to 75 kg weight penalty of AWD). So everything hangs on the LBX drive-away price, it has to be less than $50K drive-away to make any fiscal sense, IMO.

I've been looking to get a smaller hybrid/EV here in Taiwan, but there aren't that many options. All options tend to be big, expensive SUVs. I;m really hoping the LBX is going to be an affordable mid/small-size car (similar to the Focus Focus Active). We really need less monstrosities of cars, and more affordable, normal-sized hybrid/EV cars.

This is a great car for us city dwellers. Very few offers in the Luxury B segment currently. The only one i can think of is AUDI A1 and its brother A1 Allstreat, which is a great vehicle but old and will not be replaced by AUDI for a new generation. This LBX is certainly far more economical than the A1, albeit a little slower. I think it has a nicer interior too.

that's a whole lot of cabin noise, you can barely be heard. Definitely just a rebadge and not a Lexus. That level of noise is not acceptable in a "premium" vehicle. The vehicle they area actually missing in their lineup is a CT replacement(one where an actual designer drew it) with the new 2l prius powertrain.

Toyota/Lexus has been using their 1 stone kills 2 birds strategy, in this case Yaris cross selling for $40k, so call more luxury, but I dont see it, little bit more soft touch material, but still look plasticky and cheap. Cabin noise is very obv due to the 3 cylinder pushing very hard in any speed. The only impressive thing is 4L/100km, that's all.

@@ubernoob103 your issue then, as you've just stated, is with the market not Lexus. Their job is to cater to the market, precisely what they've done here.
