it is not a resistor it is a diode. How it works is it allows only current to flow in one direction and not reverse. In this application however you are not caring about that. A diode also has a voltage drop across it approx half a volt. You are USING this half volt drop to trick the charging circuit to thinking that your battery is a half volt lower than it actually is and causing a voltage increase of a half volt. Since the alternator is now sending this reduced voltage going through the diode.
Do you think this would work for a stock alternator to help with a car audio system my problem is my car can NOT take a HO alternator so I'm only able to upgrade as much as my battery can handle i recently purchased a package battery and super cap combo a 74AH lithium lifepo4 chemistry battery and the ioxus ultra cap battery im waiting on them to come in but im trying to figure out how to get the absolute most out of my alternator and stock charging system I've upgraded to all 0 gauge wire and about to do a second run just to make sure but I am wondering if installing a HO alternator and one of these with it would it allow it to charge at the HO rate instead of stock charging rate
Been wanting to run an AGM in my SC430 with the 4.3 V8 - 3UZ-FE engine There is a 130amp alternator in this car and the electronics tend to have a drain on them even as it’s parked, because of the security system, etc. just on this car it happens to be more of a dream that I’ve experienced in the past with other cars, and other people with the same car have the same issue. Some people keep the car hooked up to a trickle charger if they drive it less than once a week. I would like to try one of these, but naturally I’m a little hesitant I don’t want anything to get busted. Do they make any that are compatible with my car? I’m willing to bet the charging circuit set up is similar to mine just that I have a bit of a smaller alternator, which I am coincidentally changing out anyway and there’s a chance I may go with a 240 amp alternator from Mechman which is a quality aftermarket supplier.
Noticed you dont include links to anything in your videos. Most other channels that install mods, list them in links. Hell, cooking channels list their products in the description lol. Come on. Help a neighbor out.
@@jfreakinl4719 Nope "bud", better take another look, above that. Link is there and working, I just used it to make sure. Also, theres now a cool website called Google if you ever need so search for for anything lol
@@HawkeyeSkunkWorks clicked on it "bud" goes to Instagram. Google is a powerful tool, I definitely use it often. I wish I could include a screenshot of the link destination it gives me so you'd stop acting like a hurt little girl 🤡 good luck with your channel, judging by all the dirt cheap Walmart mods, you could use some subscribers lmfao
@@jfreakinl4719 hey I’m just over here tryin to help. Yep wish I could send a screen shot of it going straight to their website too….thanks for all the traffic! It helps 😉
