that's actually wicked smart and effective (seriously). up here around Boston the first due engine just uses their tank until the 2nd due engine can get in lay a line from the hydrant to the 1st engine. having the 2nd commit to the building is actually really effective.. some good thinkers over there.

Good job guys, awsome effort. Interesting to see even the small working differences between the US and Australia. All about the same thing though and both achieve it. Gotta put the wet stuff on the red stuff.

You are correct, a 360 should always be performed by the first Officer on scene as well as the first due Truck OVM while he ladders the building and forces entry to the rear (or at least that's how we run). A 360 was not seen in this video simply because the Nozzle-Man and Hydrant-Man were the only ones wearing helmet cams. You can hear the officer call out that he's doing a 360 as the Nozzle-Man gets off the rig. Thanks for the view!

On confirmed working fires, it is in our SOG's/SOP's that we lay in. 2nd due engine grabs the next plug and commits to the rear of the building.

Makes definite sense to me, I don't know the areas up there obviously, but I do recall a couple fires I have arrived on where 1st due engine made the connection because the nearest plug was on the same block as the fire, DFD carries a 50' long 5" doughnut rolled on the Captain side pump panel for just that situation. **GENERAL DISCLAIMER TO MY POSTS: I am not a firefighter and while I am well versed and love to talk shop, I am here to learn above all else.**

It's always nice to have the extra seats, even though most times we will only bring 5-6 on the engine and send any other manpower with the truck.

I don't usually comment on fire videos, but just wanna say hell of a job. Everyone does their job and is nice n calm on the fire ground. Not sure if this dept is paid or volllie doesn't matter to me again nice job and keep up the good work.

Our rig only has 4. Our dept is mostly career but we have 3 volunteer stations and we get shafted with the older trucks.

they probably figured since thy hydrant was on their way in, and they knew where it was, if they could grab it fast, there would be no need to have the 2nd due engine waste time and grab it, especially since the second due was probably a ways out seeing this fire was essentially down the street from 19's station.

I believe it's this bill and/or act that has been passed or is trying to be passed in my state but I don't know if it's a federal bill or not and it's called "The Public Records Act"

I'm sure it's due to your response area and second due times but is it your normal practice to have a firsts due engine drop the supply line? On a partial or fully involved 1st due pump will drop crossly and quick attack with the 500gal. On board while 2nd due pump grabs plug and pulls past 1st due to transfer their 5" **GENERAL DISCLAIMER TO MY POSTS: I am not a firefighter and while I am well versed and love to talk shop, I am here to learn above all else.**

well until you can show us in writing that we are not allowed to show us responding to fires, then we will continue to do so. And even then, we probably will still post videos. No interior private property was exposed by any means. There is nothing that the public cant just go drive and see for them selves. Thank you for your concern.
