I haven’t even watched to the end of this video, but I’m already impressed at how clear and easy this chap made the set up look. I’m a girl nearing 60 and live on my own so I will be setting it up by myself. I feel confident and am looking forward to watching the other videos on customising the Home Screen and set up. I’m so excited. It’s still sat in the box at the moment but I can’t wait to set it up whoop whoop to technology and great youtubers like this chap. Thank you for the time and effort in creating these videos, you go along way in helping people like me.

I’ve been searching for a new tv for over a month now (with exhaustive research) and found myself coming back to your videos. Though Vincent is a Jedi over at HDTV Test, I prefer a more basic overview which kept me glued your channel and Caleb over at Digital Trends. You go over everything that’s important to me and do so in a calm, enjoyable manner. Almost relaxing and zen. With a veritable sea of information out there, I found the research and decision process to be stressful. Not here though, which is why I love your reviews and insight. Particularly your review of LG’s Oled CX. So much that it pushed me enough to pull the pin and order the 65” version. I’m coming from a 9 year old 55” LED so a solid 4K and HDR set was extremely important. I almost bought a Sony x950h but was concerned about the persistent blooming it projects. Needless to say, I’m beyond excited and want to thank you for your excellent videos. You’re a brilliant host and reviewer so keep up the great work. I have a couple of questions.. 1- My only concern with the tv is that it doesn’t get all that bright. Do you find that it’s ever an issue? I’ll be placing it in a living room with no direct sunlight that isn’t particularly bright. I’m also adding another layer of curtains to enhance the man cave’s darkness. 2- Because the CX sits so low on its stand, positioning a soundbar in front is next to impossible. I plan on measuring, cutting and painting some wood to help raise it enough to accommodate a a soundbar. How high do you figure I should raise it? Most soundbars are around 2.5 inches high (I think). As for the wood riser, I was going to ask what your stand’s measurements were (width, depth and height) but remembered you own a 55” which is probably different than the 65”. Anyhow, thanks again for the killer videos. I promise to keep endorsing you if you promise to keep posting them. Cheers!

Thank you for such a wonderful video!! One thing I found super helpful that wasn’t pictured in the video was after installing the stand, using the box to assist you with tipping the TV upright. I was up at the top of the box while my boyfriend stabilized the TV from the base and we slowly used the box to get it upright safely. It was awkward to try and get it on the stand in order to lift the TV from the bottom any other way. Thank you for the helpful video!

Thanks for this. Assembling the stand front and rear bit was not clear on the instructions, so seeing it done was great. Everything else is straight forward. Can I leave a couple of Tips: The 3 screws that connect the front silver strip and the heavy stand were very tight on mine. Suggest you screw the screws into the strip and then remove before you connect to the stand; this will ensure they screw in a bit easier when you assemble; you need to ensure they go in straight. Also suggest you put some of the polystyrene packaging back into the centre of the box to support the TV when assembling if you are laying the TV on the box. This gives a bit move support to the TV as the centre of the box is not strong enough to hold it up and you end up only supporting the TV at each edge. Hope all that helps!

Great when it works. I just had one delivered and said I'll set it up myself. 2 weeks later and I'm still looking at a blank screen. I set it up and it didn't turn on; only got the red indicator light, so I had Geek Squad come and they confirmed it was defective. Your video was helpful because from it I figured out the correct way to repack it in the box. Now I need to rent a vehicle to exchange it during the holiday crowds. But I learned the lesson: if they have the option always have them set it up to make sure it works! But obviously you're correct that it's fragile; the repairman said it may have been too jostled during delivery.

Scary as hell laying the TV down by myself but got it going and setup. I almost miss the days of heavy TVs with chunky bezels as you could pick them up super easy if you were strong enough at least. Thanks for the help!

Very useful unboxing, specially using the box to up the stand on tip. The missing part, to lift it back up, what we did was, lift it in tilting motion to have it standing, slide to one person, have them gently hold side and have another person hold the box and sit it straight up

Mine was delivered on Friday and OMFG what an amazing TV. The picture quality is just phenomenal. Awesome sound, awesome picture. Its so thin as well. My advise if your putting this on wall bracket I recommend Vogel's THIN 546 trust me you will need it because this TV is 18kg and although the THIN 546 takes up to 30kg its a bit of an overkill but if you're hanging a £1600 TV on the wall a £50 bracket isn't worth it.

Set this up by myself and yes, it would be much better with two people. I was nervous attaching the stand due to the thinness of the screen and the general awkwardness of the way it attaches. There aren’t a lot of solid places with which to lift the tv.

Got 77 inch cx. This thing is glorious. I live in a condo where this tv is in my bright living space. As long as there is direct light source hitting the screen, this tv is perfectly fine for day viewing to my eyes. Night time viewing is just off the chart with the darkest black and super high contrast. Expensive tv but it's worth it.

Just bought this TV, love it! But I am finding it really hard to get the best picture settings for hdr and Dolby vision, I can never make my mind up and I just want to stick with one for each hdr mode. Do you know what would be the bests settings for watching 4K blu rays, because that is the main reason I bought this tv and I want to get the best picture modes from those films, both old and new. Bought one yesterday, based in no small part on your videos. Amazing tv. Red Dead Redemption 2 look like next gen, Guardians Of The Galaxy 2 on 4K Blu-ray looks intense, amazon prime 4khdr is eye waterinly good and sky, well, if it wasn’t for being shit scarred for Roman Grosean it would have been a brilliant F1 race in 55 inches.

'Store mode' is what kept me from buying one of these over the last 10 or more years. I finally ordered the LG 75 inch- because of the stand. They sent one poor man to deliver the box . But I received 120 channels with just indoor rabbit ears with the first scan. If I did any adjustments- it wasn't much. I like not having to lift my hand with remote, it works no matter where you point. The picture is beyond any I ever expected- but ultra high def is unsurpassable quality.

I’m in the market for a new tv and I have been thinking of getting either this or the only x90h. Which would you recommend out of the two? I often watch cctv on my tv so the worrying thing is the burning on the oled. I’m also wanting to use the tv I get for gaming in the future, movies, Netflix etc. Sony offers a 5 year manufacturing guarantee and LG just gives the one which is another plus for Sony. However Sony doesn’t currently have the VRR and the ALLM features as they haven’t been released yet LG is ready to go with these which gives the LG a big tick. There is a price difference of £300 between the two tv’s both 55”. So which would you go for?

Hi, I bought the GX 55inch model, love it but I found a potential manufacturing defect. If you take a fine soft cloth, wrap your finger with and run your finger firmly across the lower Basel from left to right, do you pop & creek sound? It sounds like the mounting glue of tape at the bottom bazel is not properly attached. My LG repair chap says it’s nothing and it should go away over time (my tv was just bought last week)... just checking if other have the same experience or I’m just unlucky to get a lemon??

Just got mine today. Have to say the picture is nice but not noticeably nicer than my LG 65E7P. Only problem I've had is I've got a line out (optical) to my home surround sound but I can't get it to play surround sound plus the TV speakers at the same time. Never had a problem with 65E7P.

Thanks! Just got the 55cx today maybe it’s me but I don’t see too much a difference between oled and nano cell can someone give me settings or explain what I’m doing wrong

please it is possible to explain us where to find the usage time on the CX just got one and like the EU model in the C9 can't find it. thank you very much

This video I see you don't have the game mode in the picture mode.. but you other video you posted about gaming you got. So how did you get the game mode ?
