Im kinda happy that youre still going strong and you focus more on your channel rather than other controversies, i hope eveything in your life goes well, keep up the quality tv vids❤
TechbyKG and all other RU-vid TV reviewers, please pay attention. This is how a thorough high-end television review should be conducted: compare two flagship televisions from their respective manufacturers, fully calibrated to their highest potential, and pit them against each other for a detailed comparison. This approach levels the playing field and significantly enhances your credibility when recommending which TV to choose. 👏🏼
Hi I also have the S95D and I am using your settings. I just wonder if panel variance. Mines seams a bit on the reddish side when I use the 20 point. Any tips ?
Quantum, good stuff man. The G4 really does have a strong green push out of the box, I see it on every video from review channels. It almost seems like all displays do now to a certain point, however, WOLED seem worse. I've also noticed that WOLED has an incurable blue push that permeates whites, I believe this is due to the white sub pixel. In any case the addition of a white sub pixel dilutes all colors- there are a lot of downsides because of the white pixel. This is why I've always considered top tier QLED superior to WOLED- color production is just a lot better with a true RGB pixel layout. Whenever I get any new TV, one of the first things I do is go into white balance and reduce both green high/low and blue high/low. This simple change can have a dramatic effect on virtually every other color. You get a warmer image with much richer color production across the board, like going from a cartoon to an oil painting. Keep up the good work man, you're getting through to people.
Hey Q great job with calibrations! With the sizes I'm looking at, which would you pick between the g4 and the s90d with the woled panel instead of the qdoled. Just unfortunate the size I'm wanting doesn't use the qdoled panel :(
Why does no one seem to care about Samsungs track record of firmware updates that reduce performance especially around holiday or upgrade season? This is a giant issue that people gloss over. Why in the world would someone want to support a company like that?
Im getting the g3 sometime when i have the money for my game room i will be looking into your subscription for the setup also any recommendations on the hisense u8k
Ok I can def see the better color and depth on the s95d but it seems to have a pinkish/reddish tint added to the siding of the house in that one image. The Lg looked a little more natural white compared. But the colors seem way better on the s95d. 🎉
With your LG G4 settings, how is the LG G4 compared to other QD-OLEDs, such as the Samsung S95B, Samsung S90C, Samsung S95C, Samsung S90D, Sony A95K, and Sony A95L?
Any issues with the one connect on the s95d regarding drop out issues etc that was prevailant before. And also the antiglare screen, whats the summary on that
When can we expect the settings to be published in the member section? I appreciate the hard work you put into this and the in depth review. The g4 looks a lot better with your settings. I know at the end you said g3 over g4. But what if they’re the same price? Man you made the S95D look amazing. Much better than what I saw in store.
I just purchased my S95D, I am so impressed with the image and color quality that it really is an incredible experience, I have a 77 GX in my living room, I am so confused I don't know whether to go for another S95D or go for the G4, My heart really tells me that the G4 so I have the best of both brands, one for my bedroom and the other in my entertainment room.
Quantum, you did a great job Owner of the S95c in 65, is it a big difference in picture quality the s90d in 77 ? What mode did you calibrate on the G4?
Hiya Q, message from the UK here, I loved the stages of this review from out of the box to calibrated, I have a question though, My Panasonic vt25 plasma has finally called it a day (blacks were mint) and i have been toying with a replacement I will be going Oled as I love the contrast I had, and wanted to get a feel, I narrowed it down to the S95d, S90d and the a95l, what would be your thoughts on these 3, thanks in advance and love the shout out to Vincent.
@Quantum_TV, i agree S95D is better on a dark room situation. But people dont watch tv only in this scenario. Do a comparison in daylight, in a bright room, and the G4 will probably be better because of the inky blacks caused by the matt finish on the Samsung Tv. Cheers from Brazil, keep up the great work man.
Thanks Q for calibrating the G4 and pitting it against the S95d. These were my last choices for my next tv along with the A95l and the S90d. Perhaps a contest between all four?
No, there's a reference governed by principles that aim to enhance picture quality universally for all formats and displays. For reference accuracy this is a calculation to d65w or 6500k, color space rec 709, 2.2 or bt.1886 gamma, and 100-160 nits. Using specialized equipment like colorimeters and programs like lightspace or calman for the measurements of your screen, follow the industry standard is how you calibrate.
Hi guys... where can I find information on the sammy S95D regarding motion processing... panning smoothness, image judder....SOE control....and movement detail? Many thanks all.
Hi! Which TV gets hotter? S95D or G4? Which of these two TVs has the more aggressive ABL? Which technology is less prone to burn in, QD-OLED or WRGB-OLED. Is the difference between QD-OLED and WRGB-OLED noticeable when watching HD TV channels, in SDR?
My only concern that stops me from getting the S95D is the one connect box hdmi limitations ,it's 40 GB only not 48GB, which could make gaming on the PC a pain in the ass because of blackouts.
very good comparison, the colors on the s95d are really nice, on other hand g4 has better processing of low quality images. s95d in many reviews say that it reaches high temperatures when there is a lot of white on the screen, and to prevent the TV from cooking, the software greatly reduces the brightness These two TVs are great, but there's one thing I just can't ignore, the matte finish on the S95D. if s95d had the glossy screen, it would have been the best tv on earth unfortunaly s90D is sold with both W-OLED and QD OLED panels, and there is no way to know before turning on the TV which panel it has :/ if i want buy samsung is mainly for a QD pannel, why on earth you mix pannel without writing it on the package :/
I tried your latest calibration on the S95D and it seemed too dark, I think the cause is that I couldn't adjust the Gamma, it wouldn't let me adjust the one you suggested...
I realize that the Samsung for sure has the most color volume due to QD but man, for my personal taste, the G4 looks better between the two calibrated images.
😊U are the Staple of TV calibration now. Def breath of fresh air in TV Industry. So stale, I hate when everyone put it in --ill looking 👀 image shovel down our throat, n force everyone to agree its “delicious”. Its like Cult. I am tired of looking at Werid Film Maker Mode, this mode that mode, thinking Did I spent 30 min looking at Guru’s brain washing videos??? What waste of my time. 😮😢
LG G3 or Samsung S95D if all I do is stream movies and shows and watch 4K blu-rays through my Panasonic 4K player? Or maybe the Sony A95L? I don’t game at all. Thanks!
@@Quantum_TV I’m sorry I meant LG G4 not G3? Is the upscaling for streaming good enough on the Samsung or is the Sony’s processor for upscaling a lot better? Also the Samsung 77” S90C is on sale right now for $1,899 is that a good option for my use? Thanks Q!!!
Cant recall, but did you also had caibrations for the S90D, including gaming 🤔 For some of us, or maybe a lot more folks, the S90D would be the smarter option to get ... dont need the extra brightness or the one connect box, and its cheaper than the S95D.
How would someone calibrate a g3 oled to this level without you doing it? If everyone else that calibrates is using 30 plus year old tech how do we get a calibration for a g3 with your results? Thanks!
2100 nits with your calibration ? How it's possible ? In most reviews, it's around 1600/1700 nits (10% window), and you're getting an additional 400/500 nits ?
I'm kind of excited if LG will continue to work on WOLED MLA or take over the QLED technology because it's still impressive how much they pushed their WOLED against the superiour Samung panels. Many say that Sony delivers the best of both worlds but I cant really see that the A95L goes ahead of the 90d or 95d. Is the image processing better on the Sony or on the Samsung ? You will probably go with Samsung either way
Still the biggest question is not getting answered ? .Why should anyone buy the Quantum calibrated G4 over the much cheaper Quantum calibrated C4 ?! In what way does it justifies the huge cost difference!!
This is a great question. Sadly I don't have the budget atm for every tv sp only a handful will get covered this year. Its my belief that the s90d is the way to go here, so I'd say quantum calibrated s90d vs g4 becomes the choice before us. To which i say s90d all day.
I have 55G4, everything is better with G4 but I dont like panel, uniformity is not the best, too many vertical bars on gray scale, pink tinting on white images, and when you play RDR2 open map and try panning camera left to right and backwards, I see bars and tinting awful... Only I like qd oled is uniformity almost perfect, I wish LG make tvs with qd oled panels, that would be perfect combination
😮😮I Almost feel like ppl put Samsung/Hisense on --Film Maker Mode. Because it ADDS --Weird pale Blue Tint, n dims the tv. It ---Kills Color volume. KILLS Vibrancy. Beside SONY/LG (Pestle) 😊😊So they can Claim --“SONY , LG looks better!!!!! On -THIS scene” 😮
Its barely better default as the reset shows. You need my settings to see the vast upgrade i gave it, but by default....its fairly similar to the c1 offering a tiny upgrade over it.
The LG looks much better, I had a Samsung S95D 65inchs and sent it back, you didn't put a movie on the S95D is so blurry it's unreal, aleast the LG you can see the clarity of the image clearly it looks more real when watching a movie, the Samsung might have bright colours but only when watching 4k Natural programs, when you want to just sit back and Watch a movie the LG is a Winner 🥇, no detail in the S95D very blurry but bright, if you pause the video and zoom in to each T.v you can even tell on a cell phone, thanks for the video
