I just finished replacing my drain hose by following the step by step process in the video. The process was simple and easy. The hardest part was doing it in my small laundry room. Othrrwise, it worked just as described. Saved me a bit of money. Thank you for the video!
I just did mine. You make it way harder than it has to be. I tipped the washing machine on its side and went through the giant gaping hole in the bottom. I took a total of one screw out and finished in less than 3 minutes.
Thank you very much for this video I am extremely grateful I was able to fix my washing machine. The pump went out so I was able to replace it and get it back and running. Thanks again
You're welcome! We are always happy to help. If you would like to give us a review on Google, we would much appreciate it: g.page/r/CcVUrahZNozMEBM/review We hope that you have a great day!
All DIY videos are helpful and give us idea to trouble shoot whatever the issues are. And of the day by watching vedios they help us to give us an idea what is going on and what we can do to solve the issue and improve. All great thanks for people to make a vedio and effort, and to make us understand. Thank you👍
I just did this. 1000% easier to just remove the giant cover plate on the back of the machine. Easy access to entire hose. Whoever made this video didn't think it through.
Definitely. The easiest way to do this is to take the hose to a car wash and use a high pressure hose to clean it out. Remember, to prevent mold, especially on front load washers, the door should be left open when the washer is not in operation to allow the inside to dry.
Easy my ass. I can't reach 3 of the 5 front paneling crews with any tool I have. Everything is on there so tight that I needed a screw driver for the 2 screw I can reach. I can't reach the other 3 with that same screw driver. Everything is at an angle so that you can't get a good grip on almost every screw without stripping it. This is anything BUT easy
Just helped a friend with this and we could not get the lower front housing screw out without the possibility of stripping it as it was straight in and the screwdriver was at a steep angle. We tipped the unit on its front and was able to get pump hose off and back on without much difficulty. It eliminated removing everything in the front of the unit.
Thank you for the tip! We choose the methods shown in our videos to reduce any chances of damage or injury. We are happy to hear that your washer is fixed. Have a great day!
+RepairClinic.com I didn't want to spend $ 70 for the tool so I checked at Harbor Freight Tools to see what they had that might work as an expansion tool. I found a set of extra long nose pliers and one of them worked! The cost was only $ 7.
What is the purpose of the air tube you refer to at about 2:20? My air tube came loose last week and poured water all over the place. I have connected it back up but how do I ensure it doesn’t come loose again? Thanks
Gissie, the spring expansion tool mentioned in the video is RepairClinic item # 1268535: www.repairclinic.com/PartDetail/Spring-Removal-Tool/383EER4001A/1268535
Hi, thanks for the instruction. Is it possible just to replace the external hose? The external hose on mine has a couple of holes on it where it touches the cement wall with vibration over years. If it is possible to replace just the external hose (instead of the whole drain hose assembly) would you please let me know the part number of the hose? My washing machine is LG WM3770H*A. Thank you very much.
at 1:29 in the video. what is the part called located in the rear of the unit that has the red plug hooked into it. This is also the part where the hot water connects too. I just took my washer apart and found this is highly corroded on the top of the electrical sensor and leaking. Your video was great help. I just need to know what that part is called so i can get a replacement one. Thanks,
You are not able to use a flat head to put the spring around the gasket like they say in the video. The only way is if you stretch out the spring or pay 70 for the expansion tool. Also, the only reason is to undo the plug inside which is not needed if the machine is unplugged. I would like for them to do this only using a flat head screwdriver.
I took the o-ring off earlier today with a flathead. A small one that fitted into on of the hooks that connect to the spring. The only problem was the spring had seized up a bit. It will stretch though and you definitely don't need the expansion tool. Inserting something else into the other hook, and holding it with the other hand helps too.
Have kenmore frontloader not draining…Had repair man over and replaced the drain pump as propeller was bad. Thought it was fixed but still won’t drain. Filter at bottom left empty …he read manual and said if still not working it is faulty panel and need a new washer. Is this correct?
what if all i need to replace is the external drain hose? I see the part on your website, but I cannot figure out how to disconnect the gray corrugated hose from the white plastic u shaped piece
If we're receiving an OE error should we use this application to take the drain hose out, clean and check for any possible clogs? Or should we just replace the drain hose altogether?
Brenda Epp OE is normally an issue inside the drain pump like a clogged filter, not with the drain hose. If the drain pump has no clog then it may be defective. Get your washer model number and visit us at www.repairclinic.com?TLSID=1773
***** by a clogged filter do you mean the filter that in behind the small door on the lower front left of the washer? If so, I removed the debris when I first started getting the error but still get the same OE error code.
Why the strange looking fitting on the end of the drain hose. Is it supposed to connect to something else? I have a Kenmore Elite model with the same fitting on the end and would like to extend the hose about 4 ft. Is there a way to do that?
Tim Ashlin The hose is designed so it does not seal when put into the drain pipe. If it gets sealed water siphons out. Also, these drain pump have a limit to how far they can pump water so only installing an extension kit designed for your model number is important.
Tim Ashlin That is pretty common. Newer High Efficiency models does have large powerful drain pumps so the hose cannot be lengthened. If you looked for it using your model number than that is likely the case.
Me: "Oh, I'm going to change my washer hoses and dryer hose, may as well do the drain hose too" *watches video* Me: "Nope." to be fair, my washer and dryer are stacked in a narrow closet, I'd need a small army to move it to where I could actually maneuver to do this swap.
At time index :47 -- :51 VERY Hard to get that plug out....couldn't do it. So any advice? I can't tip the washer over like the previous guy said....to cramped.
Kenmore or LG couldn’t just let you replace what is needed and they force you to buy the whole damn thing. Normally it is just the outer hose what is broken. But nooooo, you need to replace the whole assembly 😡.
