There is a small square button, very hidden, on the left side inside the ice maker. Resets the cycle (be ready for it to dump ice or water). We just put a label on it since it’s upside down and hard to locate. It’s there though. Good night, and good luck.
My refridgerator stopped supplying water to the icemaker, first I thought it just had frozen shut (again), but after checking for that, still no water. Then I tried to switch from ice to water, it stuggled for a second and suddenly it dispensed some water, and it also fixed the watersupply for the icemaker. Weird, but it worked :)
First, remove the large storage ice bucket and press and hold the very small square shape in the lower left corner, and then a sound is heard and water comes out as it is reset. The square button has no indication
We have this model and the ice it produces is not enough, always out of ice. Previous models I've owned even back in the 80s and 90s always made plenty of ice. These appliances today are really getting horrible. So I had to go out and spend 350 dollars on a countertop ice maker to make up the loss!
Thank you, I thought mine was broken. We bought some of those stackable ice trays that pop out easy, makes another 90 ice cubes a day. Its enough for the summer. Who puts in a ice maker that only works as good as 3 large ice cube trays in 24 hours? Can’t return fridge, but my family will remember this as a flaw for the future.
Ditto here.....We have exact same model shown here....never enough ice in any spring or summer months. ALWAYS HAVE TO BUY extra bags of ice...and this was the 3rd Refrig delivered....previous two we rejected due to dents on exterior upon delivery and doors not sealing resulting in a frost covered freezer...LG Tech even rejected in his service report.....LG?? NEVER AGAIN !!!
Water is not coming out on the ice maker. However, water is coming out from the outside if we want to drink water. That means, water flow is good. Ice make is empty. The metal moves freely. What could be the issue?
Ya I would like to know that too. I tried a hair dryer to melt along seams and that helped get it a little looser, but I stil cant get it out. Im afraid ill break it so I stopped and looking for a video.
I don't understand why this video does not cover another very common issue - after going through all these steps the ice maker tray is stuck and will not rotate. - It could be stuck with the tray rotating down (it got stuck after dispensing ice and no more ice is being made because the tray is in the wrong position) - It could also be stuck with frozen ice cubes in the tray In either case, when you toggle the on/off switch, you'll hear the tray attempt to rotate but you will see that it is jammed. I toggled the on/off switch 4-5 times and it just would not rotate. What this video fails to tell people is that in this case, there is a test button located on the left side next to the tray on the underside. All that has to be done is to press this test button and it will cycle the tray. In my case, once I pushed the button, the tray rotated, dumped the frozen ice into the bin, and rotated back again. The tray then filled with water and everything is now good. I would also mention I had a similar issue with the craft ice maker in the freezer and it also has a test button. Pushing that also solved the issue of the craft ice maker being stuck and not producing ice. Hope this helps everyone who has this issue!
I have a remedy that might help make your fridge produce ice faster. When I got my fridge, it was automatically set to energy saver mode, which would defrost the freezer on a daily basis frequently, slowing or preventing turnover of the ice tray. 7 hours after turning off the energy saver, I noticed an increase in ice. If this doesn't help, you may have to buy a bag of ice and fill up the ice cube bucket storage compartment in the fridge.
@@masfishing1 Sorry to hear that. I'm no expert; all I can tell you is that if you have one like that shown in the video, it should move up and out. It wasn't easy the first time I tried. Yours might be frozen somehow. Try using a hairdryer/heat gun around the edges. Good luck!
Had to have LG do service on my 10/23 purchase. Ice maker had to be replaced. They sent a 3rd party repair man to my house, who ordered the part, 2nd visit, installer comes with the wrong part, & 6 weeks later 3rd visit, installs, hopefully, a working ice maker. What a 💩 show! Told me I have to wait 24hours to see if the ice works. I’m doubting that he wanted me to push that little button. 🧐
How to get the ice bucket out? Well, my way was messy. Very. But quick. I don't have a hair dryer. I removed as much ice as possible by hand. Then I poured warm water through the ice bin until the remaining ice liquified. The problem with this method is that the water flows through the cracks in the door (more on this later). Put a towel at the base of the refrigerator to soak up the water. Keep doing this until the assembly easily pops out. Once the ice is gone, it will slide out easily. Clean out the assembly and dry well. Then replace. Now about those cracks... That's the problem. Warm air from the room is getting inside the assembly and the moisture is freezing and causing the gaps to freeze up. The whole thing should be sealed from outside air.
The video doesn't say much. My problem is the icemaker and water don't work. E F1 fault but it only covers defrosting the refrigerator. We've done that twice, and no joy. The icemaker test button cycles the icemaker through but it still doesn't work. I have two choices here. Either the icemaker or the evaporator fan. I used the motherboard test button to check and all vents have air supply. The refrigerator and freezer temps are fine, so all of the fans must be working. (True?) I've spent hours online with LG so-called experts, trying to get an answer. Again, no joy.
Same problem with ours. Insurance company sent a new ice maker, a new circuit board , and then finally said they’d replace our fridge. Only problem is that the replacement fridge is lesser quality than our original purchase.
I have a LG side by side...... right door don't close properly.Called repair guy out,he couldn't fix the right hinge Called corporate and they gave us the runaround.I Will never buy a LG product as long as I'm living 😮
Cost too much to contact LG center lady. I think I have a small leak of water coming from the upper right corner of the ice maker which leaks onto all the ice on right side of bin and freezes ice cubes solid and then it wont dispense until I break up all the ice. I cant tell where this small drip is coming from either. Any videos on that??
Update: I called LG and they sent someone out the next day. As it turns out, I had not pressed the "icemaker" word in our refrigerator hard enough for 5 seconds. The service technician also got air out of the line. We love our new LG refrigerator/freezer and now love our icemaker, too. This comment had been about how our icemaker did not work, but now it does. Thank you LG!
Let me know what will happen to ice cubes, if there is a power cut for 5-6hrs? I mean to ask if the ice gets melted and after it turns into liquid state: Will the water stay in the same(ice cube) chamber or else it dispenses thru the dispenser outlet which is outside of the refrigerator?
Ice or water isn't being dispensed , however when I press the right french door in the ice and water is dispensed.... What does this mean? Door sensor issue? Bad door?
My ice dispenser keeps on dispensing even when we did not press to dispense. It only stops dispensing when all the ice are out on the ice bin or when we open up the freeezer door
One of the worst feature ever because of the poor build quality the internal crushing mechanism damaged and didn't even apply warranty for that and literally not value for money
When i press and hold that little square button...nothing happens. I can feel with my fingers that there is no water in the tray. The craft ice maker works just fine though. Please help
@@luigimartinez1748 yes. I felt like such an idiot. Inside the refrigerator door there is a control panel of sorts. I didn't know it but you can turn on or off the craft ice and the door ice dispenser separately. If I'm not mistaken...it's the same button. My door ice dispenser was turned off.
0:45-0:47 The circular 'arrow' is LG's way to demonstrate how to turn on the feature. So the circle takes appropriately 3 seconds (the amount of time the video says to press for). The circle is meant as a visual for the 3 seconds the on/off button should be pressed for.
The ice tray does not tilt anymore, even if it's full of ice. This error is not covered at all!! Is there no way to yilt it manually? How is it possibile?!
Yes. Pull out the ice bin. To the far left underneath the ice maker, there is a squar button near the back left corner. Push it and the tray will begin to turn. Put the ice bin back into place to catch the ice.
