I just wanted to give you a BIG THANK YOU!! Our ice machine had been screwing up for several months. We were able to temporarily fix the various problems, but they kept reoccurring. Thanks to this video we were able to remove and take apart the ice maker. The biggest problem was a build up of ice in various places in the ice maker and calcium build up on the water nozzle where it fills up the tray. Followed your steps to remove, took it apart, thawsed it out, cleaned it up, reinstalled it. Bam. DONE. Thanks again for having a step by step video.
Bravo man. This is first and only video that show how to open the gear assembly and fix it, instead of replacing the whole ice maker "as recommended". I did this repair already but was just checking if anyone else did just the gear "repair" realignment. Also was double checking if I assembled the gear correctly, as there is a arrow check mark on my main large gear, but there are no other gear marks or holes to align other gears and arms. The question I have in my mind, how this gear getting stock or misaligned, as it seems there are many complains about and replacement requests.
Thanks man! It seriously caused me so many problems until I finally opened the gear box and figured that sucker out! Yeah wish there was some kind of arrow to show how to put them or align them back in. Remember to like and subscribe! And tell your friends :)
I didn’t do the best job showing the gear replacement. But yes there are holes to place some of the gears in also the case will not go back on if the gears are not in correctly and of course the spring needs to be hooked on to as shown on the video. Good luck!
Thank you so much young man. I really mean it. My husband did everything you said and fixed our problem. We have so many extra bills right now that was a Miracle. I am sending you a cyber hug right now. I'm old so tell ur wife it's grandmotherly hug with nothing but
Good job man, great video, helped me out. In my case, one of the smaller gears had fallen off track. Also, after waiting many hours with still no ice, I realized that you must press the reset button. The moment I did, it did its test (the tray seems like it will break off, it contorts but we all know it's normal) and boom the water flew into the tray. So, fingers crossed, I think it's working.
Holy cow!! Ya fixed me! I just bought an LG french door fridge (LFX31925ST/00 ) from a reseller through the Facebook Marketplace. The seller was all too gracious and responsive before I paid. Now I can't even get a response in the messenger from this guy. At any rate, this fridge that, according to him is 100% in working order, but actually has some issues. This ice maker issue was one of them. Glad I found your video. You showed me the reset button which corrected the problem. Thanks!
Thank you! I just had a repairman out today. My compressor and the motherboard need to be replaced in my 5.5-year-old LG. The ice maker has given me trouble for some time now. I will try what you showed and hope that fixes it. I’m in $900 now. Hoping I can save the other $400 by fixing the icemaker myself.
THIS IS A GRREEAAT video. Very methodical and helpful. Here's an additional tidbit. My problem was that the icemaker wouldn't fill all the way. After a big bunch of searching one video mentioned in passing that the water reservoir in older models was associated with the water filter. That got me thinking - our filter is the screw in type named HDX FML-1. it's kinda largish (and expensive) and is at the back left of the top shelf. We have a bit of Scot in us and don't change it as frequently as we probably should ( last time about 2 years ago - OOPs). So on a hunch I replaced the filter, took 3 or 4 cups of water from the water dispenser until water was clear and running freely again. Guess What? Icemaker working just fine now. Hope this helps someone else.
Excellent! Glad yours was an easy fix and didn’t have to open up the gear box. My spring has come off 5x now so frustrating. Remember to like and subscribe and tell your friends! 👊
Hey Brad - thank you for taking the time and effort to produce this excellent, easy to follow, video tutorial on how to remove the ice-maker to de-ice and reset the LG ice maker. Your instructions really did save me $$$. Thanks again.
Definitely like the detailed tear down and rebuild. I did see another video where a hair dryer was used to thaw the motor/ice and that repaired the issue as well... although it might have only been a temporary repair. Thanks for taking the time to detail the fix!
Very Well Explained! Camera was Spot ON! What a team! Now if my ice maker goes out, I can replace the motor. I just Love LG products! Our counter depth fridge is so space efficient! I did recess mount ours inside the wall about 3 inches. I also wrapped the wall with FRP ,to finish it off, and vernted it through the ceiling with perforations to help with heat removal. I also ran my reverse Osmosis to the water line. What a difference! Liked and Subscribed! THANKS!!!
Thanks! Really appreciate the feedback! Means a lot. Feel free to pass the. Idea along to friends and family and also have them subscribe. Thanks again 👊
Thanks, I just picked this fridge up & got it clean & ready to go. Bought it used so no manuals included. I couldn’t figure why the ice wouldn’t fill w/water then checked you out. Right on!
This was helpful for taking the auger apart. In my case I was getting loud knocking sound when trying to dump ice. I found one of the plastic gears has 2 teeth broken off. I rotated that gear halfway to move where the broken teeth are and put it back together. No more knocking sound! For now at least...
Thanks for this! Tray was stuck in the upside down position. Usually I press the reset button to get it working again, but this time, the reset button wasn’t responding at all. Went through your steps up until 4:33, put the ice tray back to its proper position and re-assembled. And now the ice maker is working again!
@@problemfixd1414 , well; it definitely helped in taking it all apart. But the problem I have is that the icemaker is too slow making ice. I have plenty of water flow, the water dispenser works good. I even checked the water tank to make sure it wasn’t frozen. I have the freezer temp set at 1°F and refrigerator @ 34° and same results. In the past 6 hrs, it has only dispensed one tray of ice. What else could the problem?
@@problemfixd1414 I enjoyed it. Also, I found that there is no need to take apart everything to get it to defrost. A few minutes with a hair dryer took care of it for me. Thanks.
This procedure worked for me. Thanks! My symptoms were no ice, no reset, no movement, no water nor even any indication there was power to the unit. In my case, however, I wonder whether had I just reseated the unit connector to the refrigerator that that would have fixed it since the gears seemed pretty well in tact. Maybe, maybe not. Part II is even more helpful, btw.
Thanks for the feedback! Yes, I’m happy I decided to do part II and better describe and show my issue. Appreciate you watching and following! Remember to continue to like and Subscribe if you haven’t and tell your friends! 👊
Thanks man! I was tired if not having ice!! Finally fixed it! The gears were all jacked up I didn’t show it in the vid due to time but that was the overall issue.
Thanks for the "run through" fella! Hit that reset with water in the tray- great shoe cleaner.🤡 I know you said empty the water... You saved me taking it all apart though. Good flex and video.
Dude, this video saved me so much money! I was able to fix my leaking ice maker with this in less than an hour. THANK YOU so much for taking the time to make and post this! 🤜🤛
Dude thank you so much! You just saved me hundreds of dollars. My ice maker is a bit different from yours, but similar process. Turns out one of the gears had fallen out of place so I had to put it back together. I never would have thought to check the gears inside the motor box!
After seeing all problems on RU-vid. LG is likely never test their product. Thanks for helping but only 50%. Now my Ice maker not make ice because no water fill in the tray. If I help it filling up the tray, it works normally. I still have my water dispenser is working fine. I wonder if you have that problem and how you can fix it?
Watched both videos because mine is making a loud clicking noise when the ice tray is turning over and trying to dump the ice. I have disassembled & reassembled the ice maker and checked the gears. Removed and put back in to make sure they weren't misaligned. It worked for the next 24 hours BUT, the ice is still not dumping out from the tray. And when it does, it's dumping chunks and shards of ice like sheets of glass, if you will. After 24 hours, the clicking has returned. I also just tried to hit the reset button and I saw the ice tray flip over and try to dump ice that has still been stuck in it for days (after it started clicking I turned off the ice maker cause the noise made me & my dog crazy). Hoping the reset will do the trick but have to wait and see. If it does not, what is my next option, in your opinion? And I swear I saw you had posted the part needed to replace the whole ice maker mechanism but now I can't find the link. Maybe I saw it on another video. Will keep looking for that.
Thanks for sharing this video. My ice tray is not dispensing the ice furthest from the water line. When the tray refills itself, the new water just glides right over the top of the cubes that failed to dispense leaving us with a huge block of ice in the dispenser.
To me, it looks like all you need to do is to pull out the ice bin, make sure your power switch is turned to on, then press the reset button and immediately put the ice bin back in. Once you hit the reset button, it automatically turns the ice tray upside down and torques it a little at the end (normal operational design) to break frozen iced cubes out of tray. The ice tray then rotates 180 degrees back to an upright position, and then automatically injects a measured amount of water back into the tray for another freeze cycle. I just did this to my fridge, and everything worked great, including the water fill at the end of the dump cycle. One thing to note here, is that there are optical sensors that are on the sides at both the left and right sides of the ice bin. It looks like there are two on the left, and two on the right. Once the ice bin fills up, the ice likely breaks the optical path shooting across the top of the bin and stops ice production until the ice has been used and the bin's ice drawn down a little. If people are having problems with their ice bin, would recommend confirming the power switch on the ice bin unit itself is turned on, then clicking the reset button and watching to make sure ice bin flips 180 degrees upside down and the back upright again, and then a short water injection into the top of the tray. If this seems fine, I would focus on the optical sensors that shoot across the top of the ice bin, which you can see when the ice bin is removed from the door. These seem like starters to me. As for the guy in the video taking his unit apart, I highly doubt this is the problem. He doesn't show anything other than how to disassemble and reassemble the tray turning motor. Could be helpful in some circumstances, but if he is having freezing issues inside this unit, would think the best thing to do is to unplug the fridge, open the door access to the ice maker, and letting the unit thaw for an hour or two on it's own rather than taking everything apart like he has, and risk not assembling correctly if a person doesn't feel proficient with mechanical work.
Yes . Always check the easy stuff first . My unit was not dumping the Ice and after a visual inspection I noticed the Ice was thicker on the right side keeping the motor from rotating . Turned off the power and thawed the ice with a hair dryer , hit the reset and everything worked so I checked level and plumb on fridge and it just needed re-leveled and plumbed . No more issues.
He came back to update and say that the gears were the problem. He admits that part of the video got cut off, but he did come back and update us to let us know what was wrong with his ice maker. Apparently the gears had gotten out of alignment.
Thanks for the tutorial book . I work on these all the time . Usually when the ice doesn't dump it is that at some point the ice tray which is a teflon coated plastic will only do a partial dump of the ice because the inner part of the ice tray itself , the smoothness gets worn away or gets calcium build up causing some ice to be left on the inside of the the tray and then when it refills with water it actually over fills the tray then freezes . That is when you need to get a hair dryer and melt the ice enough to fall out. But unless you replace the tray itself this will continue .
And that got it. I will say, mine was stuck in the dump position with the ice tray twisted. I’m guessing the dump sequence must either rely on a position sensor or a motor torque sensor to return to upright position? There is a sensor on the bottom of the ice tray that must be a thermocouple which probably tells the dump motor it’s time to dump when temp drops below 32F? I basically followed most of your procedure and it worked first time. Thanks a million. Also, I was having a lot of problems with cubes sticking together in the ice bucket and bridging up. Had to break them up with a wooden spoon. Replaced the resin in my water softener and the problem went away. I didn’t realize how hard our water had gotten, I was pretty much making calcium chloride ice bergs. Now everything is great again. Live and learn I guess.
While editing I cut out some of the discussion in which I tell everyone that my gears where frozen in the chamber were the motor was, I had to reconfigure the gears and thaw the motor to get the ice machine to work again. Hope this helps
Thanks but I noticed you did not repair anything, you just took it apart and put it together again, Anyway because of that I was able to fix mine in 30 seconds. The solution was at the end of your video. That little tiny rest button which I never would have found on my own. You can push it without removing any screws just the ice bucket. FYI for me what caused the problem was I shut off the ice maker for a few day for no good reason and when I turned it back on the ice tray was stuck . Learned a lot form your video thanks.
Glad it helped! Turning the ice machine off probably helped thaw out your motor which may have been stuck or the gears not being able to rotate. When turning it back on and hitting the reset button it may have corrected your issues! Glad all is working. Go check out the 2nd video I put out there helping explain the gears. Thanks again and remember to like and subscribe and tell your friends 👊
Ours makes ice like a champ,, distributor runs fine but will NOT dispense ice. Have to open the door and hand dip it everytime. Yes, I have emptied it 100 times, no blockages. Everything appears to work fine, but it will not drop ice, whole or shaved
Try breaking up the ice in the compartment as it can get stuck together and not want to dispense. Once the ice is more separated it should dispense for you. I have also found this to be a problem. Good luck and remember to like and subscribe and tell your friends!
My problem is the unit makes ice but will not dump the ice I manually hit the reset button and the ice is dumped. I put The ice in the ice tray and it will be dispensed through the door ok.
@@nathanjordan6512 SAME symptoms on mine. Did you find a way to fix it? I would be SO grateful if you have any successful advice for this condition! Thanks :)
This is definitely a good video and my mom has the same problem with her LG refrigerator but she has an older version with a small tv screen on the right. I looked at your video twice and I didn't catch what you actually replaced to get it working again. I got lost when you were showing where the small spring (6:13) was that appeared to be attached already when you pulled the cover off of it. So can you tell what was it that you replaced? Thanks a million...
Shanetta, yes my spring and gears were all out of wack and I had to put them back in place. Due to time of the video I tried to just so the gears and spring in the correct placing. My apologies. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching!
He did a whole lot of nothing actually, all he had to do was press the reset button in the first place , that’s what I did an it worked , if the reset button wasn’t working for him he should of showed that from the beginning,
I had to put the spring in the gearbox back on one of the other sides of the lever it’s supposed to be connected to right around 6:28 I say it really quick kind of got edited out
My ice maker is working but not making ice is my problem. I turned off the fridge for over 8 hours two times and it still shows 1F E but I can’t figure out why because it’s not even making ice
Bradley, My fridge is several years old. Before I disconnected the 2 orange power switch wires I marked the right wire and the plastic next to its plug with a black sharpie. In my case the front wire connects to the left plug and the back wire to the right. Nevertheless, I was never able to get the ice maker to work. Even pressing the tiny reset button made nothing work; no audible buzz or hum, not the slightest movement of the tray. zero, so i just ordered a new ice maker. take care
Hey Rob, I tried to explain what I did to fix during the dismantling to fix the issue I had. But yes this video does show more of the components inside the ice maker that can give you or are giving you the problem and how put them back together in the correct manner. Thanks for the feed back! Let me know what problem you are having and I may be able to help! Cheers!
Please go to my part 2 video where I work on the gears. Which was my issue. Appreciate the feedback. And remember to like and subscribe and tell your friends 👊 thanks
I have this same ice maker in my LG french door fridge. It makes one batch of ice, but it won't even try to harvest it unless i push the reset button. Then it harvests that one batch, and fills up to make the next batch, but will never harvest even if I leave it alone for 2 days. It's cold enough and plenty of water supply. Any advice for this ?? (I've been searching the internet and YT for hours and not found this particular issue). Thanks
having same issue I hit the reset buton every 2 days and it is the only was I get any ice I hava replaced the entire asswembly and still no ice I called LG and no answers
If you listen closely and watch I’ve open up the gear box and had to put them back in the correct place as they popes loose or froze up. Thanks for your comment
@@problemfixd1414 So my ice tray isn't dumping on its own. If I press the reset button it will operate and drop the ice as it should and the refills with water, but then again won't drop the new ice once its formed without me pressing the button again. Any idea what would cause that? I am about to just replace the entire ice maker.
Mine will discharge the ice by hitting the reset button but it will not do it on its own and my fridge is brand new. LG replaced the unit and the entire door and it still wouldn’t work.
Mine was the type without an on/off switch but rather a pin hole for reset. Unit not making ice. Rest not working. Tried to take out 3 screws and remove unit by disconnecting power and reinstalling. Did not fix. I finally fixed it by removing unit by disconnecting and let defrost overnight in the sink. Turn off ice maker in fridge first. Next morning I reinstalled and it started making ice.
Hi Brad ...thanks for a good in depth troubleshooting video. I am still having a problem with mine. I did press the reset button and it did as you showed in your video. It did its rotation, then returned to the initial position. It did refill the ice tray with water, however, the water is not freezing. It's not the temp. because the ice bin in the drawer is making new ice and refilling. Any clue what the solution might be? Pre-thanks for any fix-it help you might be able to give me. Robert
The one helpful thing for me in your video was the RESET BUTTON. Seriously....its hiding back there. I fixed my ice maker by using a blow dryer and then press/hold the rest button. Fixed! Not sure why the on/off button doesnt double as a reset button.
Ours just started jamming up. This is extremely helpful. Any thoughts on the craft ice maker? We bought the fridge and it worked twice I think. Not to mention the fridge never came with the container to catch the ice (we tried on numerous occasions to get a replacement, but ended up with an additional door unit and then ignored.
David, unfortunately the video cut off when I explained that I had to reconnect the spring in the gear box. It had come off causing the gears to not work properly. Hope that helps!
At 4 min 32 sec into video to took ice try off. It lookseems like there was an ice cube stu know to the back side. That can prevent the next batch from dumping and that causes water to overflow during the next fill up.
Dan thanks for the feedback, at that point my ice was in the tray but the gears in the box were not in the proper spot, they had poked out of place and some had even frozen in place. I had to put them back in place and unfreeze, unfortunately the video didn’t capture this as my boy did the editing lol 🤷 hope that helps. Remember to like and subscribe!
I have the same fridge, purchased 2 years ago. It makes ice but will not dump. I have to dump manually. Could this be a sensor that's dirty or blocked?
There are two sensors that are just below the ice tray, they can and for me have been blocked or dirty causing the ice not to dump normally. Usually a good first trouble shoot, if all is good check the reset button then open up the housing for internal issues like gears or motor freezing up. Hope this helps. Remember to like and subscribe and tell your friends 👊
SAME symptoms (harvests great ONLY if I push the reset button), but mine doesn't have a senor, it has bar that goes across and pushes up when the ice is full.
Good video. My reset button actually works and the ice bin dumps, but it will not dump any other time. I have to manually hit the reset button for the ice to dump out, so for some reason it's not happening automatically. Anyone seen this particular issue?
Have you ever seen your ice bin loose at any time? What I mean is you can slightly wiggle it. This has happened to me and I have had to manually hit the reset button. You may want to check your gear box and make sure they are all in order and the spring is catching. Word of warning take a picture before you mess with them they are a bugger to put back together if you don’t have a good idea of where they go! I had to learn the hard way 😆
Hey Brad, Thanks for the video! I am trying to fix my LG lsc27921st/04 ICE maker and when I turn on the ice maker switch, it does nothing (I mean it usually moves a bit). I tried to press the test button for few second and it does nothing as well. Any recommendations on how to fix it?
Pushkar, try turning off the ice maker then open it up (the 3 main screws) as seen in the video, then unplug the ice tray from the freezer as seen in the video and plug it back in and see if that works.hope this helps!
Due to the editing, it didn’t show where I explained that I had to take the gears out where the motor is and put them back together in the correct place as they had popped out of place due to being frozen. Hope this helps! Don’t forget to like and subscribe 😉
I am having something similar happen with our new lg that I just bought in January! When I hit the test button it does rotate and dump the ice, but doesn’t do it automatically like it did when we first bought it! Do you have any ideas for me?
I'm having this exact same problem with an LG fridge I purchased last July. Dumps when the test button is depressed, but doesn't dump automatically. Even had a technician come and replace the ice maker under the warranty and the problem still persists.
Have either of you tried opening the motor/gear box and checked to see if they are in proper place or if the small spring is still attached! Mine has slipped a few times causing that issue or even freezing up. Hope that helps good luck!
Did you get it fixed? Mine does the same thing. I think the icemaker compartment needs to be below 10F for it to dump the ice. Mine is running 19F even with the freezer set to -4F.
Very informative! Our’s appears to have a broken piece of white plastic in the square plastic hole in the back where the metal lever fits into. We are getting crushed ice only. Do you have any suggestions for that?
We just bought a new ice maker replacement. I am having the same problem...it makes the ice but will not dump it into the dispenser. If I hit the reset button, the ice dumps in the dispenser. I don't know what else to do. Does anyone have suggestions??? I miss my ice!!
I have an LG fridge and noticed this knocking sound in the freezer ice maker. It makes ice just fine but, I can't figure out why its making that sound. Does anyone know what might be going on? I just have it turned off since, it can be really annoying and, sometimes it wont stop.
if the frozen ice is the issue, is it possible to solve it by taking the ice maker as you suggested, and then do nothing - simply let it sit under the sun, melt the ice or any frozen part, and then re-install it back to the fridge?
@@macdago619 I have taken the ice maker out of the refrigerator unplugged the connector like trying a hard reset then reinstalling it and it starting working again. There is a video on RU-vid walking you through the randr of it.
Thanks for this video. I have replaced the entire ice maker but still have a problem. The water never runs to fill the ice maker, so no ice. The drinking water runs fine through the door and the secondary ice maker on the bottom freezer works but still no ice on the top ice maker. Any idea how to troubleshoot why there would be no water flow into the top ice maker?
In my case, the fill tube would get clogged with ice and fail to fill the tray. There's a wire that heats the fill line to melt the ice that forms inside, and if the wire burns out like mine did, you'll get a clogged fill line. Oh, and you can't order a replacement from LG - they don't sell it. Also, the wire is encased in insulating foam inside the door - I had to carve my door open to dig out the faulty wire and replace it with something similar. Now I have all the ice I need. :)
your reservoir tank might be frozen, you can pull up and out your bottom shelf on the door and there are a few screws holding an access panel. see if it is frozen up
Hi Brad - I'm Nancy and I have the same unit. For some reason when the ice maker is dumping the ice, it's like it gets off the track and makes a loud clicking sound because it's off track. I've taken the unit off, and think the problem might be where the motor is. I haven't opened up the motor part, but is that a spring that maybe has come loose that maybe I have to reconnect inside that housing?
Nancy, mine does this all the time! And yes it’s usually from the gears or spring coming loose from inside the housing where the motor gears and springs are located. I’ve done a part 2 video showing me working on the gears and spring. Take a look at it as it should help with your problem. Good luck! And remember to like and subscribe and tell your friends👊
My issue is that it's not doing it automatically once the cubes are ready. I have to press the reset (small button) in order to get the made ice from tray. My temp is -2F
You may have to open it up like I did and check the gear box to make sure none of the gears are out of place. I’ve had that issue multiple times and it seemed to fix it once I opened up the gear box. Good luck hope that helps. Don’t forget to like and subscribe!
I have the same problem. Did you find a fix for yours? I have the same skepticism about the gears - since it works perfectly when pressing the reset button. Seems like it's just failing to INITIATE the harvest part of the cycle. I wonder how does it "know" when it's time to dump the ice? Is it simply a timer that begins once the tray is filled with water? Can this timer go bad or need repair (if it is a timer)? Or is there a sensor that tells it when the ice is ready for harvest ???
@@ralphdesmond I did not sorry... I'm thinking it has something to do with the heat/summer time because when it's normal temp outside like in winter I have so much ice I have to dump some out. I just buy bags of ice in the summertime. LMK if you find something out please
@@problemfixd1414 it never turns into ice but we found the issue. Had to take apart the fan in the freezer and saw there was ice on the blades which didn’t allow it to blow
lol, you didn't fix anything. You took it apart and put it back together. Unless I missed something, it looks like all your icemaker needed was a defrost.
You took it apart and said everything was good. So what was the problem? Mine has ice and it doesnt dump. I melted the ice with a hair dryer, hit the reset button and it the tray turns. I then closed the door, let it cycle and still it doesnt Dump the ice.
Unfortunately in the video I was cut off when I mentioned that the gear box was the issue. Once I opened that up and readjusted the gears because they had popped out of alignment. This happens to me at least 3-6 months even now!! Super annoying but it beats paying $400 to $600. When I can fix it in 5 to 10 min. Hope this helped. Remember like and subscribe and let you friends know!
My problem exactly. water fills, cubes are made, but never dumps. hitting reset rotates and twists the tray as designed and dumps the ice and returns to original position and water fills to make new cubes. Unfortunately, never dumps. The bin is relatively empty, so sensor is not preventing further action unless the sensor is faulty.
Hi!! Just recently got a used LG fridge from a family member, he said the ice maker doesn't work. So we played around with it today- figured out it DOES actually work, but the twist feature to release the ice gets stuck and repeatedly tries to fully twist over and over again. I'm not sure if that makes sense, but it's basically a consitent glitch that makes this loud flicking sound. It seems like the ice tray is getting stuck on something but nothing is visibly wrong. If i press down on the right side of the tray while it's trying to twist, it thinks it's working and proceeds to go through the motions of dumping and returning to its original position. Then the water fills. The problem is if I don't give it that extra pressure, it will stay in that dumping position and not go through with returning to its place. Any suggestions???
Yes! Mine does this all the time and usually it’s one of two things 1) Either braking down the ice maker just to the point where you take the tray out of its position where it’s connected to both sides and putting it back in place. Or 2) Getting in to the motor as shown in my part 2 video and making sure the gears are properly working as they can sometimes get stuck. Either way pretty easy fix if you follow my tutorial. Hope that helps and thanks for watching. Remember to like and subscribe and tell your friends. 👊
So our ice maker works so well it comes on by itself and shoots out ice. How can it be fixed or can we just disconnect and never use again. Ours is from 2012
my fridge was not making ice for 2 days , i did the test by pressing the button, the ice tray twisted and then ice fell out, but im not sure, i believe there is a problem because it freezes the ice, it is just not dumping out the ice once its frozen, like if its stuck in the ice tray , please help!!!
Try turning of the system, then unplugging the main electrical source. This is found behind the ice machine as shown on my video. Plug it back in and see if that does the trick. Sometimes a good old Hard reset does the trick. Hope that helps. And remember to like and subscribe and tell your friends!
No ice being made. Reset button just beeps and nothing happens. Water comes out when on water setting. Ice will turn when you try and get ice but obviously nothing comes out because tray is empty. ItE error popped up for about 2 minutes and went away. My advice, don’t buy a stupid ass LG fridge. Had this thing 4 months and the ice maker is already broken. Way too many electronics and failure points for a fridge.
My ice fills and freezes but the ice won’t dump except if I manually push the reset button. Then it dumps go back where it should and fills but after freezing again won’t dump the ice automatically. Any idea why?
Might want to try either your wiring connection in the cassette. Or take a look at the gears in the gear box and see if one is not turning appropriately.
@@problemfixd1414 Hi !!! my ice maker doesn't eject ice, after I reset it, it drops the cubes, fills with water, but once again, when ice is ready, it doesn't eject it, my ice maker is located in the bottom drawer on the left side, what could be the issue?? could you help me on this one?? any ideas ?? thanks for your help.
Try opening it up like I did in this video and see if there is any thing off. If not check out my part 2 showing me open up the gear box to the motor. Sometimes it just needs a little blow dryer (heat) on it for a few min as it can freeze up! Good luck I hope this helps 👊 and remember to like and subscribe and tell your friends!
Try opening up the case where the gears are and check the gears they may have been disrupted anytime during the dumping process or just out of alignment.
Mine twists but the ice is stuck due calcium buildup in the tray. I need to remove the tray and soak it in vinegar. I think this will get me there. I was hoping it would be simpler.
Is your tray tying to dump but gets hung up and ticks? That's what mine is doing and I expect its from build up. If I beat it, the ice breaks, but I know pounding on it repeatedly isn't a good idea 😬.
Don’t know if this was already asked, but my issue is an Error code locking the sensor panel. Did a hard Reset by unplugging, comes clear but when turn the Ice-Maker On it goes back to Same Error [E- , 1 F].. any suggestions on how to fix this? Thanks, would be greatly appreciated.
@kikiob3628 If you go to my (part 2) of this video it does a better job showing what my issue was. I had a problem with the gears in the gear box. I had to adjust a gear that had been popped out of place. Hope this helps. And remember to like and subscribe and tell your friends! 👊
