People didn’t hate him they just found him boring (I’m guilty of it too) I guess mainly because they didn’t flesh him out much just some cool and kind guy but nothing special I felt the same way with Alistair from DAO but then turned out he was a bastard child which peaked my interest also he was hilarious while Liam jokes fell flat they should’ve done something more
This is probably one of the cutest romances I've ever seen. They got so well. Liam is such a dork, he loves Ryder a lot. Small flirting, nervous. Hell, even the ending he's like "marriage". Ryder returns that. When she finds the hamster, she says it's the cutest thing in andromeda besides Liam, he's special. Also shirtless Liam and naked Jaal was gold.
I agree I like male ryder with cora cuz she acts all tough and what not but inside she's as soft as candy floss and cares for ryder and of course Liam and Sara work great even tho Liam can be boring
You know what really sucks about Andromeda? The romances are done so well (past the first flirt), but being let down by these facial animations. It's not terrible Imo. Just.. very very inconsistent. Seriously Liam, close your eyes when you kiss you creep! :p
-Triggered.- No, there is nothing interesting about these romances. Look at the romanatic things happening in this thing, besides the dumb sex scenes I am not interestedi n. I don't want to watch dumb porn. But all I saw was one makes you fall from a cliff, the other climbs a mountain with you, yet another takes you to a beach, another talks about some dumb rose garden and the last one is actually the cutest of them all, yet Ryder doesn't react properly to that. It's so fast, there's no proper build-up to the romance. It's just lots of flirting until they suddenly become an item. How is that interesting. There's no questioning or a bit of resistance because they are in a new galaxy. There's no doubt, there's no longing, there's just: hey I like you. Would like to be a hting if not that's okay. WTH? These all look like flings that won't last long. Fanfiction-writers do a better job.
I'm a little bit disapointed that we won't see a "real" sex scene. But, I still like this romance. For me, it's not the best, but not bad. Liam is adorable and Sara Ryder is really playful. I think they match very well!
Nothing for the women here ;-; Oh, but Liam is not the only one! (Suvi, Vetra and Reyes) Okay, I can live with Reyes, because he isn't a "offical" romance, but still...
IwarinJones I think we should voice our opinion on Twitter because I know alot of other players complained about not having a good gay romance and bioware sad they'll fix that.
Watched this, Gil's and Reyes' . . . Gil's romance absolutely precious, Reyes is kinda creepy in a sexy way (kinda...) and Liam is just plain adorable. That jump scene is awesome. I like how not every romance culminates with a standard love making scene, but is still satisfying to watch in that we see an actual relationship with honest talk and playfulness multiple times. Not just flirt, flirt, confession of feelings, flirt, sex, end.
I also like how in most of the scenes Ryder and his/her LI are having fun doing an activity of some sort and laughing. There was so little laughter in the original trilogy, so it's a sweet sound!
@@Knownascomic Andromeda had been in the talks since 2013. They just gave the project to their underdeveloped branch and the main company pooled all of their major resources into Anthem. If this game had Anthem's team and budget, we would have had an amazing game. I really, really hated Anthem's existence. Extremely uninteresting, non-unique rip of Destiny and Warframe-- only taking the worst aspects of those games. Beautiful, at least. Just so boring and a lack of passion. If EA had Bioware sticking to their strength(SP RPGs), Andromeda would have been as successful as the original trilogy.
I recently replayed the game, and I have to admit I had a lot more fun with it this time around. Sure, the main story is pretty stupid and there is far too much tedious busywork to do, but I genuinely enjoyed the combat and the crafting. The best moments are indeed with the crew, and though some of them are more interesting than others, they're a good bunch. What a missed opportunity. If they substantially changed the main story so it made even a modicum of sense, and cut back on the constant backtracking between different areas, Andromeda would have been a legitimately wholesome experience.
Sexy accent but........damn you guys those facial animations. In some scenes Liam's eyes are open so wide that they look like they'll fall out of his head. Then that same soul sucking stare is on his face while he's sucking Sara's face! That wasn't romantic at all, it was creepy.
When I learned he has ADHD, it made sense how his character acted in the game. Plus I like how he was not "buddy-buddy" with everyone (besides Jaal) at the start then slowly got used to them.
Thank you for uploading this. I am usually a person that does every romance but I won't be doing this one but it's nice to see the outcome. I hated that they made Liam immature and tantrum like. Alarm bells rang out for me when he USED Ryder to clean up his messes...that stunt on Aya...then telling security information to Verand when as a former "cop" he should have known better. Seems that he jumped from job to job when things didn't go his way and he treats the initiative this way as well. I just couldn't get into his character as he gives PB a hard time for being immature but at the same time doesn't realize that he acts the same way as well. I think it's why Drack seems to have so many anti Liam convos when in the Nomad.
I think they did that to all the human characters… makes them look more gangly, like they’re still teens. I guess it’s to make them look younger, therefore less experienced, than the last Mass Effect crew
I think she has a nice side profile but her mouth is too constantly grinny? And her eyes are just a little out of proportion, otherwise she's honestly alright.
15:05 Peebee rolling her eyes...LMAO. She's similar to Kosta. What is she: jealous? Probably. Annoyed? She shouldn't be because she's just like Liam's personality.
I don't really like Liam nor see him as a romance option for my Sara but it's actually pretty nice. Especially that "repeating angel" scene is pretty well done !
I think Liam was totally naive about varand he has good intentions but he needs more development hope the sequel can make the characters and the the world more believable
I’m convinced that EVERYONE on this ship knows when two people are having sex. There’s no room. Peebee and Ryder in the escape pod? That’s right next door to Kallo and Suvi Ryder and anyone in their cabin? Again right above Kallo and Suvi, plus it’s next to the galley and showers.
Does it bother anyone else that even after they get together Ryder still calls Liam by his last name? I wish she would start calling him by his first name if you romance him...
If you have a good imagination, I'm sure there's a good fanfic out there with a sex moment. I've read a few that involves Vetra. And even though ME:A doesn't have that much, my favorite romances from the original trilogy didn't have a scene with sex either and yet they made it one of the main reasons why I love the franchise so much (i.e. Tali, Garrus, Thane etc).
Are large chunks missing from this or is it really just as awkward? This writing is right up there with that awkward romance you can have with the pilot.
Sabrina Grafenberger SPOILERS it's a random event on Eos. It's after you save the Moesha (is that how you spell it) and he asks you to meet him at the outpost
Maybe it's because english is not my native language, but for the life of me I cannot understand a single sentence Liam says. His syntax is so lacking in... everything, even by internet-speech standards. I had better luck understanding Brad Pitt in Snatch.
No it's not just you hahah I had such a hard time understanding him if I didn't look at the subtitles. He speaks very fast for one, so all his words kind of mesh together. also he doesn't seem to pronounce his words very clearly lol.
It doesn't have to do with the accent at all, it's his sentence structures. What I'm assuming, his writer wanted to emulate normal human speech (like all writers writing characters, duh), and sometimes when you speak casually to your friends, you omit certain parts of a sentence, usually a subject, which you would imply by a verb ("Been to MacDonald's yesterday."). Normally you do it occasionally, but Liam does it in almost every sentence, so it makes it difficult to catch up on whom he is talking about or what he is talking about. Sometimes his whole dialogue lines are mental short cuts. Mental short cuts are fine on occasion, everybody does it, but not if you mental short cut your entire message. Again, it's not the accent, his accent is pretty easy to understand, it's his garbage writing. Humans don't talk like that.
Lots of people do, it's fairly common with lots of English speaking subcultures. I have a couple friends that talk just like Liam, it's realistic, but I totally get it would be hard for a non-English speaker
geraldine constanza soto astudillo After you come back from that City when they are looking for Meridian. check your email or just talk to him on the ship.
geraldine constanza soto astudillo I honestly don't know, I do know once you're in a relationship with some people you can't flirt with others but idk I always stick with Liam lol
All the romances are shallow and cliché. A dude as boring as Kaidan, having trouble communicating like a normal human being. A more sensitive version of Garrus as the only straight alien option. All the others for Sara are gay. They were trying too hard on the dumb sex scenes and forgot to put in actual emotion depth. The romance with Reyes was interesting, because they actually put in emotions. Problem with that romance though, is that he's a dangerous untrustworthy person. The emotions were incited by him being a liar. Overall everything is lacking emotional depth. The writing is shallow in every sense. The same with Alec's death. They never get into Sara's/Scott's grief except saying (s)he either never knew her father or (s)he can't believe he died. How about putting a scene in where the others leave and (s)he gets to actually get the choice of either punching a wall out of anger and grief or crying heartbreakingly or indeed being the ice queen/king and reacting minimally, except for the tears streaming down her/his cheeks, silently and getting surprised by that or something.
Cliche? Yes. But: This romances ARE at least romances (or maybe a begin of a real love relationship) Most "romances" in the Trilogy where just fuck dates. I cant see the shallowness. Plus you had to build friendship with this characters first before going deeper. Bioware tried something new, they dared to implement something like real persons into their game: People that arent perfect, saying stupid things sometimes or having doubts about themselfs, not ultracool action movie figures from the Eighties. But it seems that a quite small but very loud group of ultra-nerds cant get over it, right? I realy hope that Bioware will get honored for this in the end, because i cant stand these boring superhero Archetype (The allmighty Shep) anymore. I realy hope that the time for dreamers will come, the time for the persons that tries to step over the edge of the known map, seeking for the new, the unknown! Oh man, will this ridiculous hate train ever stop?
I also think perhaps they were planning for longer romance arcs. Like in the first Mass Effect the romances weren't very in-depth either... they were only really built upon over the course of the entire trilogy. Maybe if they continue making more games the romances might get fleshed out a bit more eventually.
liam is hands down the worst love intrest in general - you sleep with him ( something we as females generally see as super important ) message to the writers stop trivializing it in this way - anyway he doesnt acknowlage you as anything more then a squad mate hes callious abrasive a screw up he uses you nearly gets you killed twice nearly get you arrested nearly damages angaran relations by stealing breaks nexus rules regularly doesnt respect you or your command and ignores you all the time except 3 times for 5 mins . even rayes was up front about not being around so yes hes crap he deserves to get the break up option and at least 2 emotional breakdown moments and a slap .
@@LoopyLemon775 how pathetic is it you feel the need to go out of your way to hamp on someone elses opinion . News flash - if it ment as little to everything as you try to make it out to be you could have just not said anything . but no you have to pop up and say the most generic self defeating sarcatic crap .. ok karen.
Getting real tired of BioWare making Black dude romances and personality in general so shitty. Jacob was a complete bore and a cheater. Steve was a emotional wreck and extremely awkward. Liam is annoying asf and cringy. Anderson & Bradley are cool but they aren't apart of the crew so I disregard them.
As a black person I'd just like to say fucking SAME Jacob was a mistake lmao, first real major black character in Mass Effect and he's just a huge stereotype
