That combo after he sets his scythe on fire in the 2nd phase legit killed me about 5000 times. I eventually just started sprinting in the other direction like i do with Waterfowl Dance.
This guy is a god gamer. But for an old man like me, I really couldn't deal with it well. And this boss just gave me rage. The move is worse than waterfowl imo.🥲 Beat it eventually, but has a lot to complain. Also the fact that some attacks can knock you back even with perfect block is annoying.
This weapon is insanely fun to use. Nothing else in the game even exists to me after I got it. The first time I accidentally parried Laxasia with the charged attack I knew it was the one. 10/10
@@jaguarjosh24Two Dragon sword, charged attack has a parry frame on it and the basic light attack combo has built in dodges. It also does good damage since it’s actually more weight than it looks. Pretty much does everything you could ever want
Seeing ongbal use it I'm like "hell yeah I'm gonna equip this thing right now" and then 20 minutes later after getting my ass kicked I'm just going back to the trident lol
This is NG+, so that means he has the decorder I think? Coz you get one later on in the game to understand what the puppets say. Interesting playing it a second round.
@@shadowdream1152 Nah, in the story because of the first puppet went blood craze murderer, they installed a system for all puppets to never tell a lie, always follow what humans say and never harm humans. Our MC is special because he was created to be more human, so he can, not follow other humans and harm other humans. So he gotta lie to be more human. Get? XD And as you do those side quests where you either lie or tell the truth. The lie options actually makes the human npcs feel at ease. Yanno white lies and all.
They aren't actually much (if any) worse than Sekiro. The difference is you need to hold the button to deflect. In sekiro, if you tap the deflect button you get the entire parry window every time. But if you tap the button in this game you are only getting a fraction of the window. This is why most people seem to think the parry window is less forgiving.
Sekiro is his easy mode since he can parry in souls games as well. Sekiro has 13 i-frames meanwhile Souls/Elden Ring has 6 and LoP’s is 8. But what makes perfect guarding in LoP so damn hard is animations are half assed and terribly telegrahped which makes his flawless gameplay even more impressing.
@@rohansensei5708 whats your source for the parry frames? ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-qOEcWX6cWeo.html according to this you can get 14 with carian retaliation, 11 for buckler parry, the 6 you mentioned is only for medium shields or worse. ive parried malenia with a medium shield before but still had a hard time figuring out how to deflect consistently in sekiro.
Before watching Ongbal I was playing like I play souls games - only rolling from attacks. I was wondering why the game felt so shit to play, but after realizing how effective and fun perfect guard is, everything clicked for me. So a big thanks goes to Ongbal. Im no longer afraid of taking hits if it means I'll get better at parrying.
Here's a piece of advice for those who aren't good at parrying and struggle to guard against Romeo's fire waterfowl attack. As soon as he starts the move throw a shotput at him. It'll instantly knock him out of the combo.
As a fellow double dragon enjoyer, these videos are extremely helpful for fine tuning some of my parry timings. Takes me back to my first days playing Sekiro, thanks as always Ongbal! You da man 🤟
I felt sad after finding out that Carlo and the King of Puppets had a past together and that the King just wanted to help his friend Rest in peace king of puppets
I’m gonna be honest, just because it looked stupid and weirdly elegant, I used the umbrella for most of my first play through. I’m now realizing it made a lot of fights much harder then they were attended to be but I still love the damn thing.
@@ToXiiCozZhe is pressing the button just before the attack hits, look at his controller he literally put it there for this purpose. It’s a mechanic called perfect guard
@@ToXiiCozZ Yes, after you perfect guard your weapon remains in the deflect stance for a bit, but since Romeo’s combo lasts for so long, he is repeatedly being put in that animation, making it look like he’s just blocking
@@cpt.aimassist1480 i just checked and there is an item to use on a weapon that make you perfect guard everytime you use a guard so i guess he is using this in the video
I don’t think I really struggled with this boss like I did with Archbishop. The attacks are way more predictable and enough room to get hits in after seeing patterns. I think the parrying clicked at this area too. Very similar to Nameless Puppet which I also had a fun time with Not as bullshit as Manus phase 2 though.
I feel like nowadays, while designing all of this, the Devs had to be thinking "I can't wait to see what ONGBAL does to this Boss".... and homeboy does not disappoint.
Looks only. 😂 The demo was hard on some people the devs had to tone it down a bit on release. Ya granted it wasn't frustrating as the demo. I find it quite balanced. Only thing that killed me was falling.... 😅
@@dirtydan4519 according to you. I don't think i've died to any sekiro boss more than 5 Times beside Isshin on my first playthrough. I can't say the same about lies of p lol
I feel like this flurry of attacks is extremely strange. I expected smooth and coherent but his tempo is so interruptive and janky. It doesn’t feel like something that is meant to be parried although it should. It’s hard to explain but Laxasia did it better with uppercut combo. It is repetitive and video-gamey but at least it was fun to parry and it was parryable by reaction, here it doesn’t have a consistent tempo nor is it coherent with fire and inconsistent swings. Like when he should be swinging from the right, he just makes a strange mid turn and does a completely different swing that fucks up my reflexes still he is the best boss in the game, I just think this flurry is disappointing and the only thing that makes him worse
Things that i've learn with this video: You will be a good player in lies of p only if you are korean Mhhh, the developers are korean, a coincidence?, i don't believe so
if i make a souls like game and i want to show the people how its played u are the only one that comes to my mind... why the fk devs arent doing that have u ever tried to contact anyone of them ? trust me dude you will make thier sells go to the roof
Here’s a tip for anyone struggling on first phase immediately corner him on the entrance pop an electric blitz with the specter and just spam the heck out of him when second phase begans throw everything at Romeo while the specter attacks and he’ll be dead In no time Thermites Throwing Electric Cells whatever you have will do the trick!
@@Urd-Vidanyou actually get it around chapter 11 if your first run. It’s the item venigni gives you and where you have the dialogue option of who or what caused the puppet frenzy. The Ergo Decoder. It carries on with you in ng+ so you can now understand them all.
C’est assez dingue quand même…. On dirait qu’on joue pas au même jeu que toi. J’ai galéré pour le mettre KO et toi comme si c’était une partie de jeu de carte.. respect mon frérot 🙌❤️
you are my inspiration. It's thanks to you that I finished Elden Ring on level 1 and it will be thanks to you if I try challenges on this game. you are the best!! I greet you from Italy.
I gotta tip my hat to you mate ;) I had to swallow my pride with all my 3 playthroughs & use a fucking SPECTRE in this fight, because that 10hit flame scythe combo killed me every single fucking time and there you just perfect parry fucking everything like a beast :D :P
