I’d rather regret not having kids than regret having them.

Childfree people being called "selfish" for putting themselves ahead of someone who literally does not exist. 🙄

Hospice nurse here. Sooooo many of my elderly patients have been left alone and THEY HAVE KIDS. I was the only person visiting them for months.

My boss is a single, childfree woman who's in her late 60s and looks at least 20 years younger than her age, has no regrets and has an amazing friend group that she's nutured for decades. She will never be lonely because her friends love her and have poterally dropped everything when she's needed them in the past, as she's done for them. Her sister loves on the other side of the world and is a happy grandmother several times over, and those kids and grandkids adore their aunt. She talks to them regularly and spends several weeks out of the year going to visit them. She's the embodiment of everything the forced birth crowd hates and has a happy, fulfilling life.

The sound of babies crying or kids screaming for no reason would literally put me into a homicidal rage.

Parents: „I decided to have kids because my life is better with them in it.“ Childfree women: „I don’t want to have kids because my life is better without them.“ Parents: „You are so selfish!“

Hi Childree women! 👋🏾 How did you spend your day today? I worked 6 days in a row in the hospital, so slept in today until 10am knowing my bills are all paid. I worked on my skincare last night, went to Sephora to buy my favorite high end Tatcha moisturizer and ate a nice meal. Now I’m going to work on my Calculus and Chemistry assignments because degrees keep the bills paid. Degrees don’t wake up one day and say, “I don’t love you anymore.” Keep hustling ladies.

Notice that not one of those badgerers who order you to have kids is around when a new mother needs a sitter for an hour so she can take a shower and lie down for a moment.

I laugh so hard everytime they say "have fun being single and alone forever" like dude if the women are single and alone forever then YOU are single and alone forever because who are you going to date? The other men? 🤣🤣🤣🤣

"You'll regret it when you're old!" Is that why I've had so many little old ladies tell me that if they could do it over again, they wouldn't have had any because it wasn't worth it, and even more tell me I made the right choice in not having them?

One of the sickest reasons for having kids is that you need someone who will care for you in your old age. Most women I talk to who are more selfless mothers talk about NEVER wanting to be a burden on their children. I work in a nursing home and my mother’s close friend works there. She was discussing her plans life insurance, burial, etc. and she stated I don’t want to be a burden to my children. I hear the same from some fathers. I feel the same way about my daughter. I did not have her for her to take care of me. She is 13 and was talking about her dream of being a musician. She said she would get rich and give me money like most kids probably dream of. I told her that would be nice, but I did not have her for her to support me. LOL

They hate the fact that you are happy without them and their children that they probably won't take care of anyway.

Give that man a child and he will find another woman nonetheless

Once my pastor said that childfree by choice people will never know the greatest love. When I told him that the bible said there is no greater love than the fact that Jesus laid down his life for his friends. So I thought we already know the greatest love. He was silent.😂

I love kids and my kids, but I wanted my kids, they weren't forced on me. Don't have kids you don't want. Foster homes, group homes, and morgues are filled with unwanted children and they deserved better. Even if it isn't that bad in their homes the child knows something is off. The parent or parents hate themselves and resent the child and/or the person who got them pregnant. None of this is necessary if you have the means of preventing that pregnancy from occurring/continuing. Stop telling people to make horrible decisions based on your wants, needs, and obligations because you don't get the consequences.

Remember this song called Cats in the Cradle. Boy grows up with dad not having time for him then when dad retires and wants time with son the son has no time for him. A.K.A the last line of the song "As I hung up the phone it occurred to me, he grown up just like me. My boy is just like me." I think the song was out in the 60's but the relativeness of the song is mind blowing. Kids and relationships with kids are hard work! If only ONE of us will put in the effort, dam right women won't do it!

I'd rather regret not having children, than regret having them. A kid can sense when they aren't like, wanted, or if the parent is miserable. I don't want to push that on a child on the strong chance I'd regret it based on my personality. And if I feel the sudden urge to be maternal, then I will volunteer in positions where I can help kids such as volunteering at Child Hospitals, friends who need a babysitter, coaching sports, reading at libraries, etc.

As a woman who REALLY wanted children, I've never had a problem understanding child free ppl. Different humans have different dreams and NEEDS from life. I'm grateful that I got to have my two, now young adult kids, but I back up child free ppl. So many ppl are not mentally/emotionally equipped to have their own kids. My own mother and several of my aunts and uncles were miserable as parents and it definitely had a traumatic effect on us kids. There are many reasons different ppl are child free and there is NOTHING wrong with that. My own children don't want to ever have kids and I back them up. Other ppl making different life choices do not validate or invalidate my own.

9:17 honestly, I have worked at a few eldery nursing homes, and I can confirm you some of the lonliest people indeed were the ones who _did_ have (already adult, obviously) children. They had put all the eggs in one basket, expecting their children to give them all their free time when they're old, just to realize that's not gonna happen. Their children had their own fun retirement plans, while their grand children were busy with their own children. Worse than being just alone, is to be alone while you had thought you wouldn't be. It was heartbreaking to whitness over and over again. However, it also made it so much easier for me to become CF, because "who's gonna take care of you when you're old" is the most common scare tactics when people hear you're not planning to have children at all.

The number one reason I don’t have kids is I believe people when they say ‘it takes a village’ and I don’t have one. Now that I’m 35 and over the baby fever phase of my life I’ve realized I’d be happy to part of someone’s village and help others with their kids…so my goal is to form a village. And if I really feel drawn to it later in life, when I have my village, I’ll take in a pregnant teenager and do the mom and grandma thing all at once, when I’m finally chill enough to deal with a traumatized adults baggage and their baby.

I would rather have a cat.

My two female best friends are married with kids and they constantly tell me how much they envy that I’m single and childfree. They‘re both miserable, hate their husbands, and wish they didn’t have kids. One of them begged me to never get married and to never have children. I trust their word much more than all the bitter, single, childless xys in the world.

Just because we have the ability to have a baby does not mean you should

My great-aunt-in-law is in her 70's, child-free, adored her two nephews and has always been active in her great-nieces and great-nephews lives. She travels, dates, relaxes, eats wonderful food, has a GORGEOUS house full of artwork, and now that she's older and needs care has plenty of savings to pay for it.

Children shouldn't be born with a job. If you are having children because you want someone to love you... get therapy and learn to love yourself first then and only then should you even consider having children. It is not your child's responsibility to regulate your emotional wellbeing

The story out there about being childfree is often as offensive as the pressure to have children. Childfree people sleep in, have lots of money, drink and go on vacations! Obviously there are no non-shallow reasons not to have kids! @$#% off with that. I have a career, artistic pursuits, friendships and interests. When new parents tell me, "Once you have kids, you can't spend all day in your PJs anymore", I can see how they picture the childfree life and it's nothing like mine. I'm busy. And I want to live in adult spaces. Parents are expected to spend all of their time in children's spaces, restricting what they talk about, what they watch and listen to, how deep they can get into an idea or topic, to the preferences and attention spans of a child. Everything around them is expected to be safe for a child. I don't want to be manipulated and infantilized _through_ my child by people who would prefer that I not think deeply or do anything disruptive.

I knew in highschool I wasn't going to want to be a mom. Fast forward and I'm a 50yo happily child free auntie. It's awesome. 5stars

I'm in my 80s. I never had kids. With what I wanted to do in life, I knew I couldn't be dragging a kid with me. I took all precautions to make dam sure I never got pregnant. I have NEVER regretted it. NEVER.

I love how 'selfish' it is to not bring a human being into this world when you know you would not be a good parent. Good parents WANT to be parents. I think its so selfish to insist someone who would probably not handle raising a child well to still have them. What about that child?? What about how that child will feel and the trauma of having a parent who never wanted them? Make it make sense.

We should normalize asking people why they want to have children instead of asking them why they do not. And what percent of the population were complete accidents? Most parents didn't legitimately Choose to become parents.

Proud to be child free. My friends who have adult children are always dealing with their kids needing help with childcare, money to pay the bills, places to live because they got divorced or lost their jobs, et cetera. These women are also being divorced for younger women once the kids leave home, and they don't know what to do with themselves because their whole identify was "wife and mother". They're the ones crying in their box wine and taking pills to get through the day. Not me. I'm just fine.

I've known at a very young age, if I remember right, around 7 or 8 years old, that I don't want my own biological children. Now, at nearly 40 years old, people have finally stopped trying to convince me otherwise. Until now, had I gotten a penny every time I heard a "you're going to regret that decision" or "you will hear your clock ticking, trust me" or, the most degrading by far, "but that's what women are meant for", I'd be rich.

It's so so so easy for radical people to call out women who choose to not have kids as selfish. Yet they don't bat an eye on parents who poorly raise children, proving that not every parent deserves kids. That's giving them the benefit of the doubt but I'm very very sure that they will see those parents and say "wow those parents shouldn't have kids" Yikes bro.

People can learn a lot from wolves. Only the strong couple in the wolf pack produce offspring. The rest of the pack nurtures each other. Unfortunately, too many humans think too highly of themselves. Not everyone SHOULD have children.

Why in the world would you guilt someone into having children? If I said I didn't want a dog or pet that's fine because the pet needs a loving human. Are kids any less important than pets? don't kids need loving parents?

I was a nanny, I was a social worker and worked with elderly, children, teens, adults with mental disorders. I am good with being childfree. My nieces all turned out with issues and unwed pregnancy. I love my childfree life with childfree husband of 20 years with our dogs. Have fun with all that and all the expectations. Most times it just doesn't pan out and people are looking towards the movie industry with the beautiful life. It is rare to have that perfect house and perfect life.

My daughter and her husband wanted 2 kids. She's pregnant, with twins. Awesome, right? Now people are saying, "Do you think she'll have more? Why doesn't she want more? What if they're both girls? Or both boys? One friend said i hope she has a lot more."" Wtf is wrong with people. Kids are hard, and kids are expensive. Why would you want someone to have more kids than they want? I don't understand! I'm absolutely thrilled. She's having twins. That doesn't mean I want 5 more sets. I want what my kids want so they can be happy. My oldest daughter never had kids and never wanted kids. She had endometriosis and finally had a hysterectomy and was thrilled to get it done. I was thrilled for her. My son is 34, and I never wanted kids. He never had kids. People need to accept other people's choices. Just because I'm mom doesn't mean I have any right to an opinion on their choices. And if i don't, no one else does either.

I'm 57, retired single with no kids and I'm loving every minute of it!!! I knew that I never wanted to have children or get married at the age of 15, and I'm glad that I never changed my mind and I'm also glad that I stood by my convictions about my PERSONAL choices to live my life for ME MYSELF AND I ONLY!!! I don't have any regrets or apologies whatsoever about the way that I chose to live my own damn life, and I don't owe society or anybody else my life and my body to be a walking incubator and a birthing machine for children that I don't even want simply because I was born a female!!! And I HATE KIDS!!! My life and my f'n choice, deal with it!!!

I have aunties who had kids to try and save their marriages. My cousins are miserable and the problems pre-kids just got amplified post-kids. The only difference is that now my cousins have first row seats to the chaos.

Ya'll. We can literally adopt/foster whenever we want. No reason to fear that you will miss your window to mother.

Most of the reasons have children are so self-centered it disqualifies them from being parents. If you want kids so bad, there are millions of children in foster care and group homes looking for loving parents. Quit being a narcissist about replicating your genes and learn how to love someone unconditionally that doesn't look like you. Ugh. Also, never listen to men pressure you for children. Many of them just trap women with babies to slow them down and make them dependent.

One of my biggest bugbears in my 20s was when some of the most self absorbed people I knew had kids and then did a complete 180 into the whole 'you are selfish if you don't have kids'. Um. Okay. Good for them finding their parental instinct, but crapping on anyone who doesn't follow their lifestyle is just tacky.

I worked in an elderly home as a teenager. I can verify that the parents ended up in these homes as their children DID NOT want to take care of them. Don’t like other people project their own shame on you. The fact is all choices comes with a set of consequences. Choose your hard. You be ok with your choice, you’re the one that has to live with it. You are also allowed to change your mind too, but what makes me peeved is again these people projecting and when you get underneath them telling you what to do…it’s often a case if these choose again, they would be childless.

I'm 45 and have NEVER regretted not having a child. My husband has just turned 50 and, you guessed it! He also has never regretted us not having children either. We are currently planning the next phase of life when we will be completely mortgage free (hence debt free), are going to get easier jobs and focus on travelling as much as possible until we physically can't do it anymore. I know I never would have been as happy with my life if I was limited to what was left over when I wasn't focussed on my child...but that's just me.

I'm 21 and Married. But Ive made myself clear to my husband that I will neveer be pregnant. However, I have had personal experience with the USA fostercare system espicially with siblings. So we have agreed that we will adopt, preferably a group of siblings who are older. We have agreed to this future plan through many collaborative discussions. However, before I met him I was fully planning on never being married and only a slim possibility of children. I'm so happy to see the women outwardly paving the way for my past self!

I was called "selfish" by a gynecologist for not wanting children because other women are infertile while I am not. I was baffled lol, I told her "so, if I have a child, and according to your logic, will it cure infertility for all the women out there?". She was (it was a woman yes, AS USUAL) absolutely unbearable. At the end of the conversation she said, smirkly"I see, you don't have maternal instinct", and I think I said something like "well, since maternal instinct happens when you HAVE a child, I guess I don't, indeed". Me and my boyfriend is child free. I almost raised my brother when I was a child, my boyfriend raised his brother and sister (he was 18 when his brother was born, and 21 when his sister was born). But his parents question us a lot about when we have a child. With minor children of their own(9 and 11 years old). We can't afford kids, I don't want them. I can't understand it.

Not really. It’s kinda blissful sleeping in, doing whatever we want and not having responsibility. It’s really not that bad. Maybe it’s selfish, but it’s better than being a horrible mother that doesn’t want to be a mother so she doesn’t take feedback or try to be a great mom so now she’s fucked up and she fucked up and traumatized a child/adult. Nothing wrong with knowing kids are hard and you will always sleep with one eye open worrying about your child and prepared for unexpected. You are a parent till you die period…..it’s hard.

I actually work with children (this isnt the reason I dont want them), and when i told a man this (who I previously told i did not have nor want them), he asked me why did i work with them since i hate them? 😂 I literally never said that! Ive also had people surprised when i said i didn’t have the patience (ironically my current job is teaching me this patience) for motherhood. I love the comment in video (about 10:40ish) about no one visiting you at the retirement home. Dude, do you know what retirement communities are like? If you have retirement community money, y'all having all the fun! Deathbed confessions, all sorts of community gatherings, you support each other where you can because who knows when the next visit will be. Also, anyone else see a correlation between age and remarriage? Seems like the older a woman is when she's widowed or divorced, the less likely she is to remarry. And that INCLUDES the grandmothers all those 'our grandmothers stuck by their mens'. I've noticed quite a few say their happiest day was the day they buried their husbands. Huh. Imagine that. I'd rather be alone and childfree than trapped in something I"m not 100% sure I want.

The same people who pressure you to have a baby have absolutely zero intention of helping you raise it once it comes. They will fight for the existence of a baby but attribute nothing for the maintenance over 18+ years. and when you suck at being a parent, you will be told that you shouldn't have had kids. You should have known yourself better. You will be told that you are naturally selfish, and shouldn't have given into pressure if you weren't ready.

I love being child free and laugh inside at people with snotty, crying toddlers who will probably dump their parents when older. Half will end up divorced or single parents. Carefree last minute holidays, full social life, peace of mind, a stressfree rewarding career without juggling childcare, thousands better off..I’m good thanks. 😂

No because the world is too cruel to children. But I'm happy with my just one ... the ones claiming childfree and happy..most tried but failed and now pro-child free
