I feel this so strong. I really appreciate all the advice on loneliness. I have a girl friend that I catch up with about once or twice a year from school but other than that my main people are my family. Sometimes it feels lonely to not have a friend to go get coffee or thrift with but I am so blessed with my family. Friendships can be a challenge at every age

Truly, family will be always be the one who'll be there for you. I haven't had a bestfriend since. It's like, my girl friends, are just close friends, but not totally my bestfriends. But God is always here for me.

Hi. I didn’t know you had a second channel. I found you & your sister about 6 wks ago. I’m a 67 woman in Ohio. Through a series of misconceptions and humanness I was recently fired from my job I worked at for 36 yrs. I understand about loneliness. I didn’t get to say goodbye to others and your whole routine changes. People don’t contact you because it’s awkward. God bless you, you made me not feel so alone. I was probably going to retire in two years anyway. But this is tough. I would have expected embarrassment, but I’m not. I’m hurt. I never went away to college but it would make sense how you are feeling. I guess I didn’t realize it was almost half my lifespan I worked there. I know I will come out of this. Life has ebbs and flows. I thank God for my church family. But you can be in a room with people and still feel alone in your situation. Take care.

God bless you. I resonate with this, though that was what happened during my first resignation at my first company, 5 years ago. But I made it through by the grace of God. He made a way, and I have a newfound workplace and workmates who are good intellectuals and friends. And my family is always there for me, God above all.

Unfortunately for me, moving to a far new location, not knowing any one( except I went to those I’d greet in Church), I went down a rabbit hole to a deep depression, sadness, and loneliness. I sought help from Church Pastor and found that I was grieving. Grieving the loss of my Mom, new environment, etc. Christen therapy has helped me going through. I’m still going through hardships relationships with my daughter and my marriage.

From Kenya in same space, life pre grad and freelancing, sometimes it has gotten lonely but also been a time for me to iron out stuff with God. We at try to hide behind careers but for me though returning to employment it's been a season of God restoring me musically, am now able to write full songs in my vernecular. Thanks Jesus.

This video definitely was a great reminder for me since I did go through a season of loneliness of having to move on from a group of friends which I thought were great for me but God closed that door. Then switching churches and trying to not be so focused on using church as a social group instead of growing closer to Christ. Now a year later, I can say I found myself sharpened more after my season of loneliness and now have started to work on godly friendships and have a much better balance of being in community but also focused on Christ for myself as well!

I tried to keep up my friendships in physical therapy assistant school after we all graduated. It was very difficult being the only one trying to contact everyone I was close to. I soon realized that they know how to use the phone also. If they really wanted to keep in touch they would.

Taylor.. not sure you feel comfortable answering but I have anxiety as well I’ve been prescribed medication for it. I haven’t started it worried as a Christian it isn’t accepted by God or it’s sinful. I know you’re studying psych & hoping you have knowledge/can share scriptures on the topic.

Hi my friend. What a wonderful question. I know this is a very sensitive topic for many people and I cannot speak for anyone but myself! The topic of medication for anxiety isn't mentioned in scripture explicitly, therefore no one can tell you that, "God says medication is wrong". If scripture doesn't say it, we don't have the authority to tell people yes or no on things. However, the way that I like to think of it, is in this way. Anxiety is our bodies trying to tell us something; medication is a tool that is extremely helpful for so many people to help lead normal lives again and even think more clearly and rationally! However, I think (in an ideal situation) medication should also be paired with some type of counseling or professional therapy so that the ROOT cause of the anxiety, depression, etc. can be addressed. If our bodies are trying to communicate something to us through those feelings- Christian counseling can be a great way to help process through why our bodies are experiencing anxiety and how we can try to mitigate that response to be less distressing overtime. I know that counseling is hard for a lot of people to do due to time, finances, or even just fears of addressing or working through the unknown. I think it is well worth at least trying! I am aware as well that sometimes anxiety is more a physical/hormonal thing and needs more medical help rather than therapy as well. Keep seeking God's face! If you need medication, that doesn't mean that you have any less faith than anyone else. Just like a broken arm needs professional medical treatment, sometimes our brain and hormones are also in need of help too. Just because we can't see mental health doesn't mean it is any less valid to receive help for. I hope this helped in any way. In all things, keep seeking God in prayer and always ask for help when you need it!
