Welcome to our latest journey to the remotest of the remotest North Vietnam!!
Queen, our guide took us to his family home on the way back to our home stay. What a wonderful front row seat it was into seeing how the local people carry out their daily lives. His home was built up on stilts. The family lives on the second floor and the area underneath is used as storage and its also where the kitchen is alongside the very precious pigs they are rearing. He also showed us his family alter where they would pay respect to family whom have passed on.
That evening we took it easy in our homestay relaxing and sharing stories with our homestay hosts, guide Queen and driver Quang. We all went to sit at the dining area within the kitchen. It was a short table and we all sat around the table filled with such a beautiful home cooked meal by Ching's mother. We had fried potato, omelette, beans, water bamboo, pork sausages, chicken and fried chicken with rice. Of course we also all had the ever famous Happy water with our meal which is the local corn wine.
Full bellies and warm hearts. This is the kind of experience we live for. Eating locally, spending time with the local people and simply just being.

We are Mayur, Gayatri and Om residing in sunny Singapore. Amongst us we have an Indian who grew up in India, a Singaporean ceylonese who spent decade of her life in Australia and lastly our son, a true born citizen of the mixes, half Indian, half ceylonese and very Singaporean.
Our videos mainly consist of mountain climbing trips, some solo journeys but mostly of our family of 3. We thrive with each others company on our road less travelled in our own unique style. We really love off the beaten kind of adventures, eating local food, meeting ethnic tribes, going back in time with some historical sites and simply getting lost. Being in corporate job for the daily survival, our dream here is to inspire people to explore this beautiful world and realise that there is more in life than just 9 to 5.
