That's true, because a lot of programming RU-vidrs, including myself, have the goal to do YT full-time (like many other RU-vidrs). But many many more programmers never make RU-vid videos and never quit their job as a programmer. You just don't hear about that since they're not on YT. For example, at my company there are literally hundreds of engineers and I was the only one doing RU-vid :) There are way more people who find great, fulfilling careers as programmers and never want to be content creators.

I'm so glad to hear this. I've been really interested in learning to code, and watching that ~6parts series of you making that fake bank website was really inspirational. The ease with which you could maneuver the screen and manage all the elements is something I aspire to. Watching other youtubers tutorials is nice, but it kind of seems like most are just 'going through the motions'. Whereas you (and maybe 3or so other youtubers) really seem like you're excited to get people into coding. Fantastic stuff, wishing you well in this new endeavor and happily awaiting more content.

Literally my goal! I have just started my job as a Software Developer even though I had no CS degree nor prior experience. I have always wanted to proceed to a CS degree after I graduated (as a Chemical Engineer) but I felt like the job offer was a better way to learn than on a school setting. Channels like these have been a great help. Hoping someday I can also be a free content creator for both social media platforms and useful softwares in the future 😊 Keep inspiring!

I must say the number of dev-turning content creators is sort of alarming. Many who don't do it, are sort of on the fence about it too. As aspired SWE, I am worried. Is this a sign? With that said, I wish you the very best. As one of your subscribers, if you do well... to some extent I do well.

Don't be worried. It seems like a lot of devs are quitting to become RU-vidrs, but that's because you see these videos from devs who are already on RU-vid. In that subset of people, most of them probably would like to be full-time RU-vidrs. But there are wayyy more developers who like their jobs and have no interest in ever being on RU-vid. You just never see them because, y'know, they're not on RU-vid. For example, my previous company has hundreds of developers-- out of all of them I'm the only one on RU-vid. Also, quitting videos do well with the YT algorithm, so you will see those videos even more often. All this gives people the idea that all devs are quitting their jobs, but that's not really the case. Hope this helps!

@@TheCoderCoder Ok, you explain it well as for the reasons why we get such impression. On the other hand it does make you question why would you start following content of a person that decided to quit his job, due to burnout or just losing motivation for it. What qualifies such a person to inspire you for going into IT career when them themselves did not manage to stick to it. You just get the impression of so many IT people leaving their corporate IT jobs and turning to education, management or some consultant position etc....

@ I think everyone has different interests and passions. I simply happen to enjoy helping beginners learn web dev. I didn't get burned out by my job, I actually really liked it. But I like being an educator even more, and it's where I feel I can help the most people.

Some of the hatred you're getting on here is...sad AND funny in a way. I can't believe people are getting mad at what YOU are doing like they are entitled to dictate your life choices. Personally, I think what you're doing is amazing, and for the people who are seeing a trend in people quitting to create content. Well, this was always the dream wasn't it? To work for ourselves and be our own bosses - and make nice money doing it. What you do is inspiring and some of your videos have inspired me to pull myself up out of the mud and keep on going. I love coding, but between family life and other things (Plus I have ADD, so that doesn't help) I am not creating the volume of content and code that I would like...but you've helped me to remember how awesome this life is! Haters are gonna hate on things like this because they're jealous and they don't know what to do other than lash out.
