A mindset of abundance doesn't cause credit card debt. In fact, it does the opposite, because a true mindset of abundance means you can be satisfied with whatever you have right now.
@JoshinDallas

yeah but to be fair, being satisifed with what you have now is mostly horseshit, and it's the opposite of how our brains are wired. The only people I EVER hear use the term mindset of abundance are rich people who already have everything they could want.

I am totally opening myself to hate but just thought I’d add a different perspective. I am a life coach and hate the title life coach. It sounds weird/condescending but I have a chronic illness and wasn’t able to work a 9-5 nor go to college to be a therapist like I would have hoped and have been pretty homebound. The thing I am good at is helping people get to the root of their issues. Life coach is a title I can use to help others with the knowledge I’ve gained and make a living for myself but without being a therapist. Just like every field there are good apples and bad. I totally understand your perspective tho

I had horrible money management skills--bad credit, school debt, uncaring attitude to credit. Mid thirties, I couldn't do anything. I got an overnight job at a warehouse, stopped spending anything I didn't have to, stopped eating out, stopped buying anything I didn't absolutely need. It took nearly three years of 60+ hour weeks to pay everything off and now my life feels so much more free. I feel like I can do anything now. I'm planning a trip to Europe, so I can't recommend money discipline enough.

Yeah, see? A few years and you can be debt free or save up so much money that the next several years you have soooo much freedom. I saved up so much money in 3 years after I was irresponsible with my money and got in a car crash. I turned my whole life around. Now I don't gotta work 60-80 hours a week anymore because I set myself up with a comfy savings and now I'm investing. People are just lazy and want things NOW instead of waiting until later. Wanna know why divorce is so high? Because people WANT to get married, but they don't want to put in the work it takes to have a healthy marriage. It's no different than that.

Interest is a killer, and that's something Caleb often emphasizes and why having high credit card debt is horrible. One piece of advice I could offer if you have a lot of credit card debt is committing yourself to never using your credit card again (cut it up, throw it away), get a consolidation loan for significantly less APR rates, and pay it off. Depending on how much debt you have it may take years, but once you do pay it off, you'll feel so free.

Or is it going to sit there waiting on the possibility I might do something, while I feel bad for doing nothing with it". Then I end up walking away, I may spend 20 minutes wandering around the store thinking about it but 98% of the time I don't waste the money. If it's online, it'll spend a week or more sitting in the shopping cart and then I end up deleting it. If you can go an extended period without it, you didn't need to waste the money on it when you wanted to buy it. It's reached the point where sometimes, I feel bad for even considering buying something I KNOW I don't need.

Hate to say it, but most women in the office environment are doing the same thing. They have some easy job they do next to nothing at while charming their way up the ladder. Once you get out of low class jobs, the vast majority of women in the workforce are doing extremely little. This has been recently exposed in reality by so many men just leaving the workforce. It's exacerbated this reality.

@@bbbbbbb51 I don't disagree. When I was young, seeing Tony Robbins on my screen kinda got me, now when I see him I want to punch my screen. Same with Tai Lopez, Cardone, RichDadPoorDad, all of them are slimey af and they are STILL grifting 20+ yrs later jumping from trend to trend. Work hard, have self-discipline, be creative, you'll wake up rich one day. Seeing some 27yr old sell happiness and success while falling apart, and ppl are actually falling for it is crazy. There are no shortcuts to a life of abundance sans winning the lotto and that overnight stuff tends to F* most ppl up vs free them, it's always better to earn/respect it.

I've been an ON & OFF meal prepper ever since i lived on my own (22y/o male), and honestly that "you can sleep at night" hits SO HARD, when contrasting having several days of food secured and having to spend money daily to sustain yourself.

Eating healthy is spiritual. The most healthy and cost efficient way to eat is prepping and cooking in kitchen. Shop fresh, grow veggies in containers, set a grocery budget, don't waste. Spiritual people also know how to be grateful and humble. It's important to identify what is true spirituality and what is your ego. Anyone who looks at spirituality as a "money grab" needs to reflect on their true intentions for life.

Everything that is leftover turns into soup. Anything with a bone, all veggies, and throw in any leftover pasta or noodles at the end real quick. And it's usually fairly tasty. Turn leftover fruit into a smoothie. Blender + peanut butter + yogurt or milk.

I think eating food is carnal by definition (not that it's not important or cannot effect spiritual things). Fasting isn't one of the most common spiritual practices for no reason.

I'm bad with money because I grew up poor and couldn't have what I needed sometimes, much less what I wanted. When I got my own money, I didn't save and overspent. Now 3 of my four credit cards are paid off, and I'm paying off the last one from using it for a surgery I needed. I'm saving money now. My credit score is in the mid 600s and rising. I'm finally paying on my student loans. It took tears and a lot of talking eith my therapist but I managed to stop digging a hole and start filling it. I can provide my kids with not only their needs, but also their wants, within reason. You can absolutely build your financial freedom back up from nothing if you put in the work and not let setbacks make you give up.

Good for you. Getting off that cycle of self destruction can be incredibly simple but impossible to see for ourselves. Now that you know the path, even if something sets you back again, you will be starting from a better position than last and now with experience. Share that wisdom with others.

@alicia_nicole 35 this year and it took me from 27 to now to make it work. I started gaining stability at 33and am starting to see the results. I found that a lot of the reason for my success was dealing with the issues that caused my bad spending habits. The things I spent money on, I didn't need but though I did because childhood poor trauma. having accountability also helped. You'll fail, you'll fall into the "I'm at this point, it's fine if I do x y z". it won't be fine. you'll be able to get where you want to be with a lot of hard work
