The funny thing is, when you bake the peels at 350° you kill almost all of the nutrients. For this to work you'd have to dehydrate the peels at a very low temperature to preserve the nutrients. Which takes way more time, and sometimes you need an entirely separate appliance to do this as conventional ovens can get hotter than what their temperature display says.
@@carpo719 well that's kind of a misleading statement because any harmful effects from the pesticides are always heavily outweighed by the benefits that the plant provides. The skin always contains the majority of all the nutrients found in any given fruit or veggie. So assuming you prepare them properly for consumption then it's far more beneficial to eat them rather then skip it entirely.
The one thing I like that he does is his ‘how to grow from a seed’ videos. I have used those videos to grow some pomegranates, which have been doing good for a while now.
obsessed with the chat saying how boiling bones is dangerous and can release chemicals. i was gonna be mad at that idiot pouring soup broth down the drain like that but instead I got distracted by chat not knowing basic cooking
I didn’t even notice ahahahah because I was so disappointed the dude wasn’t actually gonna make stock and instead make “bone water” for his plants. Like, might as well do both
Yeah what tf are they talking about? Also idk why gunner is so mad, this shit just isn't for him. Some interesting stuff in there even if the guy is annoying
The natural skincare makes me scream at the screen as a bio major and as someone who's in beauty rn LIKE YOUR SKIN IS AN ORGAN LMAO you wouldn't squeeze lemon juice on your spleen
ikr! lemon juice on the face is such a huge no no... i really urge people to look these things up and find a reputable source for what they're saying.. most of what he said about the orange and pomegranate peels was just made up or based on minimal evidence and i couldnt find good sources to back up the claims. not to mention he cooks the peels for 30 min at 350 so any benefitial vitamins or compounds that may have been there are probably gone..
I was like "Noooooo!" when he added lemon juice. Not like I didn't think this guy had no clue what he was talking about, but that definitely confirmed it.
Minus the lemon juice homemade masks can be very nice. I love using honey and powdered herbs, clay etc. Just gotta do some research bc there's alot of misinformation about this shit online
Yo, so I actually used the stain remover one. I spilled red enchilada sauce on my white couch and a Tide stick didn't work. That life hack actually did. So I was stoked.
There is an actual real "hack" that you can use your peels of many fruits to do, but not the ones that were presented on this videos. DO NOT drink tea made out of the BURNT peel powder, it's going to taste HORRIBLE. The real hack (that my mom uses all the time) is: blend them (don't put them in the oven, blend them raw) and use the this liquid as fertiliser for your plants. It works wonders. Buy don't do this every day, because the plants need some time to absorb the nutrients and if you put them too frequently you're going to rot the dirt they are in and their roots, do this once every 2 weeks.
Dude just wanted to study Horticulture and treat people like a witch doctor, but realized no one cares unless ge has flashy images and calls it life hacks.
How do people not have seizures watching this dudes videos. Between the constant jump cuts and extra over the top hand movements I’m starting to feel motion stick after watching his videos out of the corner of my eye
9:01 to be fair there are times when you need to clean with white vinegar for safety, usually if you have babies or animals around it is a safer alternative that will not harm them if they lick the floor or whatever. So.., I dunno he’s still got us Really all of this dude’s hacks are things that are more or less good and correct, but they’re not life hacks so much as they’re lifestyle advice if you want to reduce your consumption and garbage output. I respect it
Pro tip Alka seltzer for hangovers actually works. Alka seltzer is my miracle. Just anytime I feel like shit or have a upset tummy headache etc I take a tab of Alka seltzer and boom. 20 minuets later I feel great.. not sponsored.. just love it.
lol as someone who detests buying and wasting anything, I really like the hacks, I dont think they're simpler than just going to a store but its definitely a solution, especially since shit keeps getting more expensive despite it just being stuff you could make at home with the right supplies
My daughter is a esthetician. Never put household items on your face. The fragrance in orange peel irritates skin. Other household items are not clean enough.
He's all like " are you in prison and have a bunch of orange peels and need a shank or a gun? SAVE THOSE ORANGE PEELS!... Did you kill a cell mate with the knife and are ready to upgrade? ...BONES!!"
Tastier but more fattening eggplant recipe: cut it in circles (the other way from his), coat each piece with eggs then flour/cornmeal and fry until golden on each side. Enjoy 😋
My apartment complex posted a video of “life hacks for college students” one of them was literally just cleaning out the lint trap to not set a dryer fire unironically
I swear to god himself that when i first saw the thumbnail, i thought it said "How to grow a chicken tree", so i thought this was going to be a meme-y lifehack video...
It's hilarious that full grown adults truly believe that if you put orange peel on your skin, you'll magically receive all of the benefits of eating oranges. Our skin doesn't just absorb whatever we put on it😂😂
i cant speak for his content about plants or waste but i would double check whatever he says because 90% of what he says seems like he's just making it up or basing it on the tiniest shred of evidence. it was hard for me to find any reputable sources for what he was saying about orange and pomegranate peels. and putting lemon juice on your face, that's a huge no-no in skincare, lol... just saying dont do anything he says blindly without finding a good source first, its a huge problem with tiktok that creators just make stuff up and people do it because they sound like an authority or like they're confident what they're saying is true
For anyone reading, you do not have to do all that for orange peel tea. All you need to do is peel off some of the orange peel and put it in a water and boil it.
I've done the baking soad cleaner. It leaves a bigger stain if you apply it to furniture or you car seat. Also this guy's back must be hurting standing like that for multiple takes.
I mean, the presentation is really weird and the pacing is off... but some of the "hacks", for lack of a better word, are actually quite nice. He gets a lot of things wrong like with the vitamins but it´s still a good no-waste, eco-friendly concept. I mean, yeah, you could buy a tide pod, but you waste plastic, you can´t recycle it cause of the chemicals and you spend more money than with his "life hack". I´m not sayin´ that these are good, but honestly, out of all the lifehack videos I have seen, his are probably the most useful.
“Life hack” meaning just like, the way you’re supposed to do stuff. Like with the stainless steel pan. That’s just how you do it. Or like baking soda and vinegar. That’s shit our grandma’s moms knew. Although, why wouldn’t you just make stock with the chicken bines? Wait, is he just trying to make cooking and horticulture “cool” and appeal to people who respond well to that kind of editing?
Hey! That bag of frozen stuff was danish!! Gunnaaaar… I’ve actually been wondering about this for a while: What is your connection to Denmark?? Both you and your sister has danish names too.. hmmm🤔🤔🤔
I think this dude is the only type of shit i think its cool, like yeah you can just go and buy whatever but why not save some money with shit you already got and used? Reduce, reuse, recycle my guy.
Mr. Adamjan reminds me of those old joke videos that teach you to 'clean cd's with toothpaste and peanut butter'. This is clearly just another content farm and this man doesn't know the first thing about audio, nutrition, chemical composition or cleaning. He DOES know plants. But literally nothing else.
@@Qronous dang, that's insane to me, but to each their own! I'd be willing to bet you're in a major minority. I was also thinking that Gunnar might've been incognito to avoid having the shit he shows on stream pollute his feeds and those also wouldn't restore upon restart
