@@totallyrealname6376 I agree, my thoughts was If this was a student project, I’d think they’d tried really. But if this is an earnest adult project, then uhh… FTFY
Yes like this deserves a high school drama teachers reaction of encouragement to start at the bottom loll but I think adults gave these almost adults all the plot and lines
The fact that in the first episode he had to break up with his gf because his fans would unfollow him if they knew he wasn't single but the whole second episode is about finding him a gf for clout
"I don't deserve you guys, you're the best friends a guy could ask for. Who else could pick up a guy when they're down" She literally made fake hate or love comments which caused your meltdown.
Shout out to Gunnars Chat, they are like the good conscience desperately trying to save Gunnar from drowning in cringe content. Would love to watch Gunnars streams - BUT WRONG TIMEZONE I GUESS
If anything I would say if you give the actors better material, better scripts, etc they could put on good performances. Maybe not award winning but who knows. But the writing here did them no favors. I think Meryl Streep and Tom Hanks wouldn’t be able to pull it off.
The line "ever see a dog on fire and a football college athlete just goes over and starts curb stomping" is the funniest thing i have heard in a long time
The most realistic thing is the college theatre kid so desperate for any semblance of a role they’re willing to risk DATING A MINOR ON CAMERA Edit: okay he may not still be in high school but he did seem pretty scared of the girls being in college so contest clues point to 17 year old
What would’ve been ACTUALLY funny is if she asked “You know what they say about bacon?” And then he says “What?” And she says “I don’t…I don’t know, I was hoping I’d find it along the way.”
That would be good writing. An as a screenwriter I can say that 1. They either hired a bunch of talentless (probably not even in the WGA) hacks, or 2. The writers weren’t paid enough to care to put in the effort.
that shower scene straight up took off more years from that kids life than if he play 7 committed years to the buccaneer's, my mans had his brain rocked back and forth and wasn't able to be put into a cradle after
"Yoooo that video of you falling in the shower is dope! I'd love to collab; maybe _I_ could fall in the shower _with_ you? Haha, just kidding.... unless...?"
I think this could have been good if it started as some decent person posting something that unexpectedly makes them internet famous, and then have that person slowly lose themselves by doing controversial stuff or just making lazy and garbage videos that they know will get views from it. In the end despite their success, the hate they get in their comments or by commentary youtubers starts to really gets to them, and they realize how much they’ve changed for the worse
See that would be good writing. Which either this show couldn’t afford or didn’t care enough to pay the ones they had to care. Also something tells me this wasn’t a union show so the writers and actors are probably not in the WGA or SAG. Which has nothing to do with whether someone is good as a screenwriter or actor but it wouldn’t surprise me.
I KNOW HIM oh my god. I knew he was tiktok famous but this is horrible. We were at an acting camp together in high school. He seemed so normal then lol
Watching that show was something else. As terrible as it made me feel while watching it, I simultaneously felt really good about myself knowing that I had nothing to do with creating it.
This is so bad and yet I want to see more. I think it's Dickie's charm and Gunnar's commentary as chat suffers lol. It does have better production quality than a lot of garbage out there.
Huge oversight; when the phone falls in the shower scene, it falls away from the dude, but somehow lands right in front of his face when he’s on the floor. Amateur hour
Seeing them wearing a Canucks jersey made everything makes sense lmaoo. Vancouver is where so much production is filmed most American movies are filmed there. I used to be an extra and I was in all kinds of mainstream movies and shows in the background. It's cheaper to film there so they all do it in Canada so it doesn't surprise me something so bad but with actual production quality could have come from there. It did have it cheesy Degrassi kind of vibe lmao
I've never had an experience like people describe where something is like a train crash and you can't look away, but here I am I think I'm actually gonna go watch this, I can't stop! It's SO AWFUL but I'm intrigued by how much more awful it could get!
Great video! One criticism is your use of "bipolar" in refrence to indecisiveness. That's a misconception about bipolar disorder and a negative stereotype. I know you meant no harm by this, but I just wanted to let you know! Have a great day!
Totally get ya! My sister has BPD and I’m aware of the stereotype. I probably should’ve used a different word but none came to mind. I wasn’t trying to use it as a synonym for indecisiveness though, I was using it in terms of her irrational change of behavior. Regardless of that still trivializing BPD, does that work better in that context? My line for offensiveness is not perfect on this stuff but I still do like using certain words as exaggeration for observed behavior. Always willing to move that line though and appreciate the critique!
@@gunnartvlive As someone with bipolar, I still wouldn't use it in this sense, because that type of behavior you mean still perpetuates the stereotype by equating the irrationality to bipolar. It's a factor in our illness for sure, but many other disorders and illnesses come with impulsivity and it ends up being all that we're known for when it's used like that. To me it just ends up at the same place as it being used as a synonym for indecisive. Irrational would be a good substitution in itself, I think. Thanks for listening!
honestly I'm extremely appreciative that Gunnar censored out the dude's nipples in the shower scene. It PISSES ME THE F OFF how many "stars" are on all these platforms, but especially tiktok, that are just skinny shirtless dudes flexing...meanwhile a female-presenting person could just be sitting there motionless but only SHE gets banned for "sexually explicit nudity" (: (me...the banned shirtless girl is me)
Narrating your character development? Writing 101: Show, Don't Tell. You, also have the ADVANTAGE of a visual medium (as opposed to prose)--and you just drop that damn ball RIGHT away. Choice. Or as they'd say, "sick".
