“I think I want to specialise in being a generalist”, my exact statement to others more than 30 years ago. I’ll stop there because the rest of the statements provide a complete description of my life and approach. 🤦🏼‍♀️

The ENTP ability to learn is inspiring simply because of how quick it happens. I remember when I first started learning typology it took me a good week to nail down how the all functions correlated to the four letter code. I later taught this system to an ENTP friend and they pick it up in ONE DAY. I’m envious but love seeing how we all have different strengths and weaknesses.
@Lizzzi86
@Lizzzi86 4 месяца назад
Which is your personality? I'm ENTP and it's true, I understood all the system in a couple of hours and the next day I created a system to match the letters with the functions without needing to memorize each one. XD
@solarisan_
@solarisan_ 4 месяца назад
@@Lizzzi86 May I ask something? Do systems help you understand things better? What do you usually base them on? Is it theory, observation, combination of those or something else? How easy do you find it to accept general assumptions? Or, if we are to reverse the question - do you start by doubting and rejecting ideas to slowly move towards acceptance?
@thefriendlyturtle2502
@thefriendlyturtle2502 4 месяца назад
@@solarisan_ Entp here - for me it's more about wanting others to know how I got to something. And to do that effectively, I often make systems to make things easy to understand. In my head, I can often jump from a to c without needing to fully flesh out b. For most people that's also the case. But I always innately try to find the causal link between a and c, that being b. With other intuitives, I don't often need to explain b. They just 'get it' - and it's really refreshing when that happens. But with a lot of people, I do need to explain b and so I've got in the habit of pre-emptively going through every stage of reasoning when I learn something. Your final point hit the spot. Funnily enough, as I was writing this sentence, I started off by disagreeing with you lmao. I am currently re-writing this. Now, after having thought about it trying to disprove the statement you made for a solid few minutes in my head, I've come to accept the point you made is true in the majority of cases. The only time I don't is when the person delivering the information has proven to have intensely logical reasoning as well as a truck-load of evidence to prove they know what they're talking about. For example, Alex Hormozi is worth 100s of millions; when he says 'do a 100 of these a day and you'll never be poor for the rest of your life,' I take it as fact. But that's only because I've followed him for months and he has already passed beyond the point of skepticism from me - at least, when it pertains to business matters.

As ENTP it also took me a short amount of time to figure out that MBTI is nonsense and it shouldn't take a person long to figure it out. It still can be used in some instances but is generally a theory with many flaws and a large cult following. I just use it to play a game of typing known people with a 90%-95% accuracy. Pretty much just put this person in 1/16 boxes.
@thefriendlyturtle2502
@thefriendlyturtle2502 4 месяца назад
If it was random and baseless, the chances of you getting a guess correct would be 6.3%, not the 95% you boast. While I don't think it's scientific, there's clearly something there - even if it is just general patterns. It would be foolish to think the complexities of the human mind can be divided up into 16 distinct categories; it's a sliding scale for an infinite number of factors. However, if I made a quiz that asked 'How much do you like nandos extra hot', 'How much do you like super spicy noodles' and 'How much do you like hot wings', rated on a scale of 1-10, I would imagine my guess for how much they would like a spicy Korean dish would be quite accurate from that data. It's just patterns and correlations, not causations. Therefore, though not science, there are often many similar attributes between people in a type and the more [normal] they are, the less accurate it becomes. @@Vegasomg

Ha ha “banned very quickly from a discord server”-love it. Before I understood myself to be an ENTP female, I thought I was an INTJ. Joined an INTJ women’s group on FB and got kicked off for complaining that one of their posts was pointless because it was an inaccurate puzzle-the host said, well, it’s just something to post. “But it doesn’t work or make sense!” Got kicked outta there

I think we are probably most similar to INTPs. We're just their ADHD twins who actually talk to people. We verbalize a lot more of our thoughts than they do but our thoughts are very similar. They can hyper focus much more productively than we can though. We are very fluid and all over the place drawing from sometimes too many places to the point that it can be difficult for us to slow down and lead other people through our thought processes. Our thoughts are usually based in logic but happen so quickly that even we have difficulty distinguishing what was intuition and what was logic based but processed at hyper speed.

Thanks bro. The automation one I need to take more seriously. I mean, all these are good. But I spend so much time manipulating myself into doing things I don't want to do: boring things like eating, dishes, paying bills. For example, finding something I don't want to do more than the original task. Then I avoid the worse thing by doing the first task and it's easier. I have a friend who's an INTJ, but he won't be my secretary, so I have an INFP.

Right now I'm doing an internship where the task is repetitive, requires details, and lots of documentation. I could handle it but didn't like it and I noticed I became slower and dull. there is no challenge or interesting matter to learn since everything is what I can do. I glad I could experience this during internship rather than my actual work. Thus I do some research on my career that suit me.

This video is very accurate about being an ENTP! However, I feel like most ENTPs might already have this down. I think rather than being useful *to* an ENTP it might instead be more useful for *understanding* an ENTP. in my opinion, it's more like "how to be an entp" than anything else

bro you’re saying the most obvious stuff here, look we operate in a way that if you have something you know you should do and something that just came into your head, you’re always chosing the second option and then you say „I don’t have time”
