Gosh, you don't know how badly I want to take my like back just to prove it is not a guarantee. However, I gave him the like first and I am not going to unfairly punish him just to prove a point. lol
It's also a good story. Don Quixote. It's the reason for the word. It's also a reason for the phrase "tilting at windmills". Which is a very, very ENTP thing to do, even if not mad or on a horse.
Sesquipedalian ... score 1 for you, Nathan. You trumped me with this one. I had to look this word up. But rest assured, it's now part of my conversational vocabulary. For that, I thank you 🤣
howd you even manage to squeeze it into your active vocab *that* quickly? wher' the hell you find a conversation to say it in when most is all small talk, for it to wind up in your memory..
@@mysterical- you can always insert it when someone else is trying to sound smart, you say "your manner of speach is so sesquipedalian yet you lack any kind of foundation for those claims"
True. Though Frank James does pretty well and I really love the CPT guy. One really has to be in the mood for all the big words when listening to him, though.
I do like him very well. But, I find the Cognative Personality Theory guy very good for listening to in a more technical sense. They function well together for me. Frank James is also good, but I find him less in love with or even interested in ENTPs. He did have an interesting and helpful video or two on the subject, though.
I'm copypasting all of these words to the next bio/"describe yourself" blank space so people can put THIS into their pipe and smoke it 😂 I'm full of mutually exclusive traits but I didn't find any of these adjectives wrong! 💗
All anyone has to do is say anything with INFJ or INTJ and I am off in too attracted la la land. Obviously, it's la la land as I still don't know the person. Its the potential for inteligence that has me all a twitter. *ahem* I do not mean that in a sexual way. Unless, sometimes, looking at Frank James. But, I try not to, then, too.
Not to be slanderous but I find you cantankerous. Spending time at your side got me feeling rancorous But, I'd do it again tomorrow. That's all I have for now. And, probably ever, since I don't know you, I am not a boy, nor a friend and I am a fan of no one human. But, I hope you enjoyed it for what it is.
I think vulnerable would be another word to use for ENTPs. It may not be the most obvious for people to see, since they have polr Fi, but it seems to me that some of that contrarianism, may actually come from the Fi blindspot. A ENTP will not always be fully aware of a value being broken, but they will still feel in an ambiance wrong, so if your not fully aware on how to react to something you postpone it. This can be done rebeliously, which often for outsiders can be seen as contrarianism, and depending on the issue may make people consider that ENTP bad. Even though they are protecting themself from hurting. Of course I can be wrong, and I am not saying that is the only reason for contrarianism, but I do believe it is a thing to at least entertain, before just devaluate ENTPs to the worst type ever. In my opinion, they are one of the best.
If people think ENTPs are the worst type ever, they are both ludicrous and mad. To find out I was an ENTP I had to, as Frank James so aptly pointed out, take the quizzes over and over, interpreting the questions in new ways, until I had gotten so many different types that I ended up looking at ENTP as the one type no quiz or person had ever mentioned to me as possibly being. And, there, I found a full on description of me, which also fit all the other types I kept getting in the quizzes. That is, all of them were "YES! ... but .." while ENTP has only amost had a "but" until CPT dude explaiend the different types of ENTP. I am an individuated ENTP. Definitely an extrovert. Definitely an introvert. That doesn't really like being alone or with people too much. lol So, any other type that doesn't like us is also dissing some part of their own self, because, it is an ENTP stereotype to consistently get various wrong typings based on what we actually are. And, we have a little bit of all the types. I can't remember all the technical details of that, but I do remember that all ENTPs are extroverts and introverts, though some clearly lean more one way than the other and a few can switch back and forth at will or by circumstance. The individuated ones are the latter ENTPs. All or most ENTPs can learn to be more individuated but most of them are not naturally prone to doing so, except when forced to by circumstance, without training.
Who has devaluated ENTPs as the worst type ever. I am definitely an ENTP and I actively had to force people not to worship me, both figuratively and literally. I wish that was a joke, but it's not. My English teacher begged me never to get involved in politics in case my mood changed. Too many people listened to me too well and I had to work real hard to stop being flocked to. Which sucks, as i would prefer to be health , happy and myself.
I'd love to see a video about ENTP'S and our coexistence with other types. For example I feel like we get along quite well with INTP's and INTJ's and actually can bridge the gap between the two in a friendship. ENTJ's we can enjoy immensely one moment and be climbing the walls to get away from them the next.
I learned as a teenager that I much prefer books that I have to open a dictionary to be able to comprehend. If my knowledge or vocabulary have not been enriched by a work of fiction, I've wasted my time. I used to buy into the idea that not finishing what you started shows a lack of commitment or ability - but thankfully at some point I realised that too many books are just plain bad, and no-one is obligated to commit to something bad. Nathan, your videos are on my reading list, thank you.
If ENTPs bite of more than they can chew and want to process everything all at once, are INTJs masters of precisely coordinated timing? "Harder, better, faster, stronger"?
"... need people, but don't always like them." I am so happy right now. I listened to another man with a brain and he confused me with ENFP. I'm over it and am now inoculating myself with ENTP truths. The defining statement, from elsewhere, that helped me realize I am not and could never be ENFP was something about never making disagreeable statements. I was like, "Well, there I'm not." and was out of there.
As a musician, you'll appreciate this: When I'm on a band job and have time to kill between sets or before downbeat, "peregrinating" is the best description of what I've done for 40 years. I didn't know it had a name until now.
Even tho I'm an ENTP, I really don't agree with the 'debater' label. It gives us an image that we always disagree with everything and want to vocally argue with it. I usually just keep everything to myself especially when I would just draw ire from my superiors at work. More often because I can make them sound stupid infront of everyone, and because I know getting burned by a racial minority, much younger than them will NOT sit well with them. also was it an ENTP thing to say that I disagree with an aspect of my type? 69
Agree with thiss Personally I prefer not to be argumentative / confront others. Only argumentative (by give questions from other perspectives) in random fun discussions, just for brainstorming But when it comes about decisions, I care teams' mood & harmony. It's like.. come on where the fun when many people got tensions & feel attacked??
Out of all 21, I think that last one resonated with me the most (For all you fellow ENTPs out there, this is a very surface level joke, don’t over analyze it my friend)
Part of the reason I think we "need an audience" is really because we need to balance our Ti hypotheses by bouncing them off of a group to get the Fe value and feedback to strengthen our stance. Having unreliable/intangible Fi means we cannot give ourselves our own approval and be satisfied with that. It keeps us grounded and from digging too deep into the rabbit hole!
I had an idea for a video and didn’t know where to suggest it so I will just leave it here as a comment (you don’t have to do it, but I have to say it 😅). Kolb’s Learning Styles and the overlap between them with personality types.
This is a better rendition of the MBTI test than the results / questions in the MBTI test. For a while I was testing as either ENTJ or INTP until I began to experience some different tests (other than the 16Personalities test) and resulted in ENTP across the board. I'm a type 8 and wasn't being overly-honest with myself in the first few instances as well, which might've had something to do with it. The realisation that most ENTJs i've met were aut**ts and were driven by an innate desire to look good wasn't "gel"ing with me either tbh. Anyhoo, props on all of your content, it's pretty darn accurate.
Other might say: "If you want to change something, you better have a good reason for that." I usually think: "If you want something to remain as it is, you better have a good reason for that."
Yes I care about my image (and as you said, somehow I built it by mentions actions I did), and yes some people said that they adored me which is actually never I wished It just felt so unhealthy when my surrounding look up to me that high.. I mean, come on be supportive for me understand my own flaws clearly
I guess I disagree with the empathy one.. Sympathetic, sure. But me being able to read people I think has less to do with my empathy toward them, and more to do with my observations and interest in finding out how people work as opposed to putting myself in their shoes from an emotional standpoint. I really do know how people will react a lot of times, while still thinking that the reaction is unnecessary or silly, but at the same time not wanting them to be unhappy. Hopefully that makes sense. Maybe i'm just evil. -ENTP
I think you are probably just evil. Which is to say, I can have utter empathy with someone where I can literally imagine the physical and emotional pain they went through. Even watching movies I get this intense pain that hits me , also, when the same things are being directed at me. However, I also sometimes just sympathize , or use sympathy and/or empathy for my own needs. Which are often to help others.
@@arlettasloan6453when I watch a romcom anime I always stop the show for a bit when a main character in embarrassing situations, I laugh, my heart starts beating faster and I feel embarrassment 🤣🤣 is it empathy?
As an ENTP, I am currently exploring the concepts and possibilities of "Introducing Modern Day Democracy, Technologies and Military back in 300 BC" with ChatGPT.
I dont know if i am an Intp Or a entp. The Test said i am Intp twice, and i got many introverted Charakter things, but when i am with people who i know, friends, School, work, everyone thinks i got ADHD (i got tested as little kid, ADHD negative). My mind is full of fantasy ideas and physics Astro Stuff and that, but i have Problems with concentration. I always was smart but never had deeper interests Hobbys and favorite Musik and Food. Idk man can sombody help. Sry for my bloody english
Maybe you answered the E or I related questions too introvertly cause you don't necessarily need people in your life so that why it came out like that. Most ENTPs also get mistaken in the mbti tests as ENFP and it happened to me when I tried it in a different language. It's because mostly our Fe is strong. But the thing is we don't tend to show it as normal ENFPs
I'm an INTP to the core but when I'm out with people and in a good mood I could fool everyone into thinking I'm an ENTP - loud, jovial, boisterous, provocative. Then I go back to my cave for a month or three.
If I would like to have a funny boyfriend - someone who makes me laugh, should I go for an ENTP or an ENFP, what is the difference in their humour? (-INFJ)
I'm an INTP.. and I'm dating an ENFP.. and it's non stop laughter when we're together. I'm somehow funny too and can make him laugh. (My best friend is also an enfp and it's the same with her) Lots of playful banter... Unfortunately I dont think I know any ENTPs in real life.
ENFPs and ENTPs both have a tendency to possess a quick wit and enjoy intellectual humor. However, there are some notable differences in their overall comedic styles: ENFPs: ENFPs often have a playful and imaginative sense of humor. They enjoy making connections between seemingly unrelated things and may employ wordplay, puns, and clever metaphors. They often have a knack for finding humor in everyday situations and can be lighthearted and whimsical in their comedic approach. ENFPs also tend to have a warm and empathetic nature, which may influence their sense of humor to be more inclusive and geared towards creating a positive and harmonious atmosphere. ENTPs: ENTPs, on the other hand, typically have a more intellectually-driven sense of humor. They are known for their sharp wit and enjoy engaging in verbal sparring and playful debates. ENTPs often excel at sarcasm, irony, and clever wordplay. They may also enjoy pushing boundaries and challenging conventional thinking through humor. Their sense of humor tends to be more analytical and focused on dissecting ideas or social norms in a humorous way. Ultimately, whether you prefer an ENFP's playful and imaginative humor or an ENTP's intellectually-driven wit depends on your personal taste. It's important to remember that individual personalities can vary within a specific type, so there will always be exceptions and nuances. The best way to gauge compatibility in humor is to spend time with individuals of both types and see which style resonates with you more.
Go with an ENTP. We're like the irresistable smell of a new book that you just can't resist sniffing. I'm an ENTP btw......and I just realized I didn't exacty answer your question.
I (ENTP) very close to an INFJ, I can describe our relationship as an automatic symbiosis. ENTP and INFJ balance each other perfectly. ENTP's blunt honesty is refreshing, as my friend said. The communication is easy and there is no need to talk most of the time. The relationship gives room for growth in my opinion. But if I can tell you something is that you should just trust destiny because you never know if it will give you an ENTP or ENFP; enjoy the personalities that you will encounter and tell us about it x)
@@VELVETPERSON Liking your own comment while not liking the person you are addressing is very poor manners. Most ENTPs have more social savvy than that.
Is it just me or people most likely have the changing personality?? I mean changing from time to time?? I am getting confused whether I am an ENTP or an ENFP. I use both my heart and my mind but am unable to control my emotions sometimes. Can somebody please help me????
Every type uses logic and feeling to different degrees. Google a cognitive functions test like sakinorva/keys2cognition and you'll get more accurate results than say 16personalities. Also read up on the cognitive functions after and decide which fits you best.
@@irishqa. And how may that be?? Now I am watching and thinking if Im an INFP😅😅 Im like pretty much of a most confused guy in the world when it comes to personality
I WAS an ENFP, for most of my life. However, after I went through intense healing of my heart and soul, and met Jesus, I realized a lot of my personality was based on trauma and a desire to control and people-please. I wanted to entertain others, and create homeostasis within my own power to protect myself from rejection, fear etc. because of pain I had carried. i had a lot of anxiety and chaos that manifested outwardly and inwardly to create a false self.
